We're back with a first insight into the development of alpha 10, which will bring lots of new features.

Before we go into details, let's take a look at the updated Steam wishlist: 32,324!


Walking through our beautiful Madison Square Park can be difficult due to trees hiding the player.

Jonas#2 and Ilie created a nice cutout feature to remove the leaves while walking under the trees. It's limited to the park and won't be active for single trees on the streets.

Alpha 9 brought the first version of delivery contracts, which were slightly impractical. You couldn't see them in the BizMan but only through the Contacts app (and only during business hours of the wholesales store).

Thanks to Jonas#1 and David#NaN, the next big update will bring a completely revised version. Once in contact with your favorite wholesales store, you can set up the contract easily inside the BizMan app. Multiple contracts with several wholesalers will be shown here as well. That's easier than pizza delivery!

A while ago, we introduced medium-sized trucks - now it’s your turn to get hold of them!

Jonas#1 just opened the doors of our truck dealership, awaiting you with shiny new vans and trucks. Don't ask me how they got those trucks into the building...

Of course, you will be able to drive the trucks yourself. We won't even ask for a driver's license. Jonas#2 made sure steering them won't be too much of a hassle, although New York's streets for sure are far from perfect for large vehicles.

Your newly bought trucks are awaited by the warehouses! Created collectively by Jonas#1, Jonas#2, David#NaN, and Daniel#1 from our 3D team, they're your new logistics hub.

Deliveries will arrive at the warehouse and are subsequently distributed to all your shops by your own trucks. Jonas#2 added pallets and a pallet shelf, relieving you of handling single boxes. Each pallet can hold up to six boxes of mixed content.

Having contracts is nice, but aren't those wholesales stores way too expensive? If you ever bought souvenirs from a gift shop, you might have noticed that most of them are made overseas with much lower production costs.

For this purpose, Jonas#1 introduced the Harbor Import businesses. You can't buy products right away but instead only sign delivery contracts. Those contracts have to be handled by a purchasing agent (more about them in the next section) and come with a minimum weekly purchase requirement. If you order less than required, you'll still have to pay the whole amount. In return, their low prices promise huge profits.

Just head to the harbor area and check it out once alpha 10 has arrived!

With all the new features, days might become too short for taking care of your growing company. Let's set up a headquarter!

Located in any office building of your choice, the headquarter will be the center of your power. You'll be able to hire logistics managers and purchasing agents, with more to come later. Jonas#1 and David#NaN have spent much effort to add this automation.

Logistics managers are assigned to warehouses and take care of product distribution to your businesses. No more empty shelves! For this purpose, every logistics manager will need a van or truck at hand to do the deliveries.

Purchasing agents handle the contracts with harbor import businesses to assure that products arrive at your warehouses. You can select which products to import. Additionally, they'll tell you the required weekly purchase and when the next delivery is expected to arrive.

Although a bit late, our Christmas gift from Hovgaard Games is here: a brand new Alpha filled with many great features and quality of life improvements!

I could talk about how awesome the new features are, but it’s better if you see them yourself!

[h2]Cleaners[/h2]
Let’s start with the most important addition: you can now hire and assign cleaners to your businesses! Yaay! You’ll need one mop per cleaner, and they’ll clean your business between 12 AM and 4 AM. They can also be assigned to more than one business. Just make sure not to exhaust them too much!

[h2]Delivery Contracts[/h2]
Another heavily asked feature: no more trips to the wholesale store! Select the item to be delivered, the amount of boxes, the day, and which business you want it to be delivered to, and there you’ll have it! At 12 AM the day selected, the hard-working people from the wholesale stores will deliver the boxes and put them on your storage shelves. Make sure you don’t run out of space or they’ll charge for the trip and won’t deliver the box.



[h2]Sports Car[/h2]
A new faster, prettier and more dangerous car! All yours (if you ever become rich enough to afford it, of course!).

[h2]New Office Business Type (Law Firm)[/h2]
One of the big features of Alpha 9 is the new law firm business: buy an office, fill it with lawyers and… Start to earn tons of money!

[h2]Storage Shelves and Shelves Fill Amount Visualization[/h2]
Shelves now show the amount of items it has. From now on, the metal storage shelves will be used for storing boxes. Cheap Gifts will require Rounded Shelves.

[h2]New POI System[/h2]
The Points of Interest system has been reworked, making it more professional and adding small quality of life improvements. Definitely a great upgrade!

[h2]World Border[/h2]
The world border is now visually filled with non-interactable buildings and in-accessible streets. Also, a “fog of war” has been added to make it even cooler!

[h2]Contacts App[/h2]
Another big feature that will definitely improve your life inside the game is the contacts app. After visiting a business and talking to an employee for the first time (cashiers excluded), a new contact will be added to the app and will let you call them to do the same you could do when visiting them. It includes: recruiting new employees, creating marketing campaigns, starting new deliveries and taking loans.

[h2]Schedule UI Rework[/h2]
After gathering and analyzing players’ feedback, we’ve completely redone the way schedules work. Now, both opening times and work shifts are modified on the same window, and we’ve designed it to make it as responsive as possible. Employees can be dragged to the work stations, and their working hours can also easily be modified. One last addition is that the opening hours now support up to two different schedules per day!

[h2]Screenshot Mode[/h2]
Pressing F1 will hide the UI, and pressing F2 will enable the free mode camera, letting you move and rotate as you wish! The print key button will instantly add a screenshot to the Big Ambitions folder located inside of the Pictures folder.

We're back with the first devlog in 2022 and some good progress, hoping to release alpha 9 for our gold supporters next week.

Before we go into details, let's take a look at the updated Steam wishlist: 30,671!


Based on user feedback, David#NaN and Jonas#1 have spent lots of time finishing a new UI for the business schedule.

Before, it was split into two screens: One for adjusting the business hours, and another one for setting up the employee shifts. Now it's all in one screen where you can easily set the business hours, add or remove work shifts and assign employees.

Many of our gold supporters asked for office businesses - and finally, we've got there! Jonas#1 implemented the new building type for office space and everything required to use it.

Mr. Scott will be happy to provide you with everything needed to furnish your business. He opened up his office supply store next to the existing furniture store.

The first office business available to set up is a law firm, employing lawyers. We all know that making big money starts with a good lawyer suing all competitors out of business!

Jonas#2, assisted by Jonas#1, has implemented a new POI system. Finding your way should be more convenient now with those nice-looking icons. On Voogle Maps you'll additionally see a marker indicating your current position.

One of the most frequent complaints was the camera rotation, which felt inverted to many players. Jonas#2 added a setting allowing you to choose your preferred style.

Currently, name labels are shown for every single item. This can look pretty chaotic at times, particularly when they overlap. Most of the information won't be needed anyways - I'm sure you recognize a mop even without a label.

In alpha 9, labels will only be displayed for relevant items - those containing additional information or buttons. Just in case you need all of them, you can still activate them temporarily by pressing .

We didn't like the "world border" just showing an empty area, completely ruining the immersion in the game. That's why Jonas#2, assisted by 3d artist Paul, added buildings, roads, and the famous "fog of war". The city now seems to continue, simply keeping you back by roadblocks. No big city without road construction!

Now you can pack just everything! Eager to move into a new, bigger, more luxurious apartment? Stuff your bed, fridge, and everything else into a box - and off you go!
Besides, to make life easier for newbies, boxes placed on the floor can be picked up through left-click as well. Of course, right-click still works just as well but didn't seem to be very intuitive for new players.

After a few pretty busy weeks of development, we're back with our last devlog for this year.

Before we go into details, let's take a look at the updated Steam wishlist: 28,369!


In our last devlog, we've already introduced the new traffic system. Jonas#2 has added sounds for the cars. You can now hear engine sounds, and vehicles will honk whenever you run in front of them. Maybe it's time to start using the sidewalk and leave the streets to those having wheels.

Additionally, car lights have been replaced by light cookies. This sounds more delicious than it actually is, but you will enjoy the new appearance. The single light block in front of cars has been replaced by two separate lights, giving it a more realistic look.

Sometimes it can be annoying arriving at your shiny new apartment with lots of luxury furniture but having to move every item separately. Instead, it's now possible to cram hand trucks into the car and take it out again on arrival. Just make sure you don't ruin your car's paint!

Another new car has been added, and this time it's a special one: The Porsche 911 inspired sports car! It won't be of much use for transporting goods, but it has speeeeeeeeeeed...

Often requested, it's finally possible to zoom in and out while walking on the streets. Zoom is limited, however, because textures wouldn't look very nice anymore when zooming in too much.

Recently we introduced a change to shopping baskets, showing the number of goods inside. Jonas#2 has now extended this to all kinds of shelves. You can watch them becoming empty while customers buy your fancy overpriced gifts or cheap cigars.

Metal shelves are no longer used for cheap gifts but for storing boxes instead. They can hold up to 16 of them and keep your store's floor tidy. Your employees will automatically restock empty product shelves by using these boxes.

This also simplifies gift shops as all kinds of gifts now require the same rounded shelf.

Tired of driving around the city every day just to fill up all your stores' storage? This is where delivery contracts come in handy! Your favorite wholesale store will be happy regularly sending deliveries to any of your stores. A service provided by David#NaN!

Ever wondered why you need to visit the bank every time for another loan? Prefer just calling your friendly banker instead? The new Contacts app will introduce this option.

Once you've been to any service business like the bank or recruitment agency, their contact will show in the app. Now they're just one call away at any time - limited to their business hours, of course. This is a massive time saver!

Until now, shops have always been empty when entering them and customers just started to come in. David#NaN thankfully ensured customers are in the store right away, creating a busy atmosphere.

One of the most asked questions by our gold supporters was about cleaning staff. Finally, Jonas#2 has finished its implementation. Employees hired for cleaning can be assigned to a shift making sure your store will always look better than the dirty, run-down burger site next door!

Taking a good photo isn't an easy task, and sometimes a top-down selfie just isn't enough. That's why David#NaN added shortcuts for hiding the UI (F1) and toggling a free camera to move it away from your person (F2). Screenshots can then easily be saved to Windows' default pictures folder by pressing the print key on your keyboard.
