The Competitive Period of Fresh Start Worlds is over! Congratulations to our World's First winners and the prestigious Top 100 Competitive Period Leaderboard superstars. Enjoy repping that mighty fine Competitive Halo, which will be with you shortly. We'll confirm the champions in a later post.

With the Competitive Period over, Treasure Hunter and other paid features (such as full Premier Club bonuses) are now available in FSW for the remaining eight weeks.

There's still plenty of good XP on offer for the rest of the event – whether you've yet to jump into FSW as a returning player or you're already in there, gains are still ahead of you!

Here's this week's bonuses in full:

[h2]Garden of Kharid[/h2]

• Added Polletix to the NPC Contact spell so you can ask about the Garden of Kharid's daily seed from remote locations.
• Weeded herb patches now have a configure option that players with Plant Power can use to set the default number of seeds they plant in a patch.
• Adding multiple items to Compost Bins will now prompt the player for quantity, allowing players to place multiple items at once.
• Farming stores now sell bucket packs.
• Papa Mambo now stocks five Vine Herb Seeds in his store, up from two.
• Instantly harvesting herbs via the Farming Skillcape effect will now display more clearly the amount of herbs gained.
• A secret hidden within the Garden of Kharid has had its defense requirement removed... I wonder what that could be?
• Reduced the amount of thieving XP you get from pickpocketing Crux Eqal Knights, bringing them in line with other Thieving training methods.
• Updated the description of Patch Bombs to state that it will harvest a maximum of 75 crops.
• Diseased Spirit and Elder Trees no longer mention that the patch may die.
• Fixed some typos when speaking to Polletix, and within the Garden of Kharid Reward Store.

• Hotfixed: Players can now convert Protean Essence into other Proteans and vice-versa, and they can now be selected from Protean Packs.
• The new Master Max Cape can now be placed in the Player-Owned House cape rack.
• Re-added the missing blocking to a wall at the Champions' Guild.
• Ulthven Necromancers and Cloaked Zealots found in The Shadow Reef no longer shoot spells from their feet.
• Taraket's minion/skeleton spawns now play their death animation when Taraket is killed, instead of disappearing instantly.
• Players no longer disconnect when trying to remove an enchantment at the Goebie Blacksmith on Mazcab.
• An extra, empty line was deleted from Statius's Warhammer's Smash skill description.
• Greater Barge will no longer sometimes increase melee attack range when using the legacy combat mode.
• Removed some clunkiness from Greater Barge:
  • The Greater Barge buff is no longer lost if players click a target.
  • Fixed some issues that prevented Greater Barge from working correctly if queued.
• Updated all references from 'Aviantese' to 'Aviansie' across RuneScape.
• Fixed a typo when completing an Elite Dungeon in Story Mode.
• Updated the reward text for the Observatory quest.
• Fixed a typo in Veldaban's dialogue during the King of the Dwarves quest.
• Talent Scouts now correctly recognise Inverted Agility capes.
• Tool Leprechauns no longer note Calquat saplings.

It's DXP, FSW and TTT this week – Acronyms FTW! (Well, technically they're initialisms). Uhh anyway… on with the newspost…



We hope you’ve been making the most of Double XP LIVE! Don’t worry if you’ve not started yet, because it’s still active until Monday, November 21st at 12:00 PM Game Time.

You’ve got 48 hours of Double XP which you can use to train any skill, and pause whenever you like. You can also trade an hour of that Double XP per day for credits to use with Nic The Trader!

As a reminder, this event is for the main game only and NOT Fresh Start Worlds, though if you're playing there, this week has a beast of an XP bonus – more on that further down.



Treasure Hunter's Double XP companion event returns, and with some very exciting new features!

Firstly, we’re releasing two new training dummies for Dungeoneering and Archaeology. We've also introduced a new progress mechanic which guarantees dummies every 10 Keys!

Next up, Proteans: following their introduction earlier this year, the new Herblore, Runecrafting and Cooking Proteans can now be selected in Protean Packs, found in the promotion and even converted from other Proteans! You can do this from today's update - so before Time To Train starts tomorrow.

Time to Train will be available from Tuesday, November 17th.

Winter may be coming, but we're getting into a growth mindset with the new Garden of Kharid - and with superb timing, Double XP LIVE returns this Friday!



The Elder Gods have been defeated, and Gielinor can finally heal. Now a strange garden has popped up – in Kharid, of all places! The druids Polletix and Sydekix want you to investigate.

Visit the garden North of Al-Kharid to access a new herb patch, as well as a whole suite of rewards that optimise your Farming experience and yields!

Farm across Gielinor, earn currency and use it to unlock powerful upgrades, including the all-new Plant Power which lets you plant multiple seeds in one patch! Plus, get your hands on Supreme Growth Potions to have those crops springing up almost instantly!

You'll also find new Thieving targets and items that optimise your Runecrafting.

In the spirit of change and #growth, we've also made some major quality of life updates to Farming – Diseased Farming Patches no longer kill your crops, Compost Bins are more efficient and Nightshade Patches grant a minimum of three produce every time!

Head to the area North of Al-Kharid and talk to Polletix and Sydekix to get started. You’ll need 50 Farming to dig in.

Today’s update sees the continuation of the two miniquests that were released with the Wilderness Flash Events. Together, these three stories bridge the gap between Daughter of Chaos and our final major quest of the year. Dive in and explore the ongoing Zamorakian activities emerging as civil war ravages the Wilderness!
[h2]How To Play[/h2]
The Civil War miniquest series is available to all members who have completed Daughter of Chaos and have 50 Farming.

To start part three, travel to the Wilderness and speak to Anne Dimitri.



Double XP LIVE returns this Friday November 11th until Monday November 21st, starting and ending at 12:00 PM Game Time. The perfect moment to get on some Farming with Garden of Kharid? Maybe!

DXP LIVE is a 10-day event where you have 48 Hours of Double XP to use at your leisure. You can even pause the timer if you need to do other activities and don't want to lose precious DXP time! If you won't be using all your time, you can also trade an hour of DXP per day for credits to use with Nic The Trader.

This event is for the main game and NOT for Fresh Start Worlds – though there's some sweet XP boosts going on over there too, so let’s take a look at those in the next section!



The competitive period of Fresh Start Worlds is coming to a close, and the XP is getting spicy! You now get double XP for all skills above level 70, and 2.25x the XP for all skills below level 70. In a new twist, every monster or boss drop now has a 20% chance to be doubled, and Tier 4 Auras now are available too! Good luck out there, freshies.

• NEW: +100% XP (skills above level 70).

• The Inverted Slayer Master Cape's teleport can be used from the Backpack.
• The Box of Banking can now be deposited in the Bank using ‘deposit all’ option.

Other

• Casting 'Split Soul' with the Essence of Finality Amulet no longer fires an offhand auto-attack with excessive range.
• TzKal-Zuk's insta-kill attack will no longer kill players who teleport out of his arena at the last second.
• The daily purchase limit for Treasure Hunter Keys in the Oddments Store has been decreased to 10.
• Fixed an issue that caused the Master Completionist Hood to be listed on the Grand Exchange.
• The Eek pet can now be added to your Player-Owned House Menagerie.
• Fixed an issue where Greater Chain could copy more than one ability if that ability was a special attack or channeled.
• Quest map icons are no longer missing for Civil War miniquests.

Halloween is back at Draynor Manor, with a new miniquest and even more creepy cosmetics for brave skillers! Plus we’ve got free deaths in Fresh Start Worlds, an update to our policy on fan fiction and more…



Halloween is here and things are getting a little freaky down at Draynor Manor! From a new miniquest to creepy activities with skeletons and cauldrons there’s plenty to get your fangs into from October 24th to November 6th.

Just like last year you can take on miniquests and then train your skills in a variety of haunting activities in the Manor grounds, earning you Spooky Tokens and allowing you to build your collection of Halloween cosmetics. There are now 20 items to acquire, including two brand new additions!
[h2]What's New This Year?[/h2]
We've added a fang-tasting new miniquest which follows Fame as she investigates Vampyres! Complete it for the Vampyric Regalia Outfit.



Plus, we’ve added two new cosmetics – the Death's Death Mask and the Renegade Armour cosmetic override set – and brought back the Web Cloak!



We're also giving you some handy buffs to help you complete each activity more efficiently. They're called BOOsts and you can get them at the Spooky Reward Shop!

• Five different activities to train a variety of Skills, each with their own miniquest!
• Spooky Reward Shop with 20 Halloween-y cosmetics to earn through gameplay!
• Spooky Time XP bonuses for Halloween activities (giving up to 14% additional boost if you complete all the miniquests)!

Treasure Hunter: Grim Harvest is back! This year it’s all about masks, with three ghastly face coverings to grab - the Boolap Bag, Spooky Hare and Spooky Ghost masks! All of them can be found in token form through the Harvest Bonus.



There’s also a Very Rare Reward to look out for – it's a new riff on the Halloween Masks of old, the tradeable Purple Halloween Mask!. You have a chance to find this Mask with any key used in Grim Harvest.



Plus, every key used provides H'Oddments which you can use in the seasonal store to claim goodies like the Wraith Walk Override Token and past rewards from Count Yakula’s Yak Track!





In the appropriate Halloween spirit, Death has decided to grant a little festive mercy to all you fresh starters – he’s abolished death costs in Fresh Start Worlds from now on!

We've also opened up those Tier 3 Auras to help you on your way. Here's this week's bonuses in full:

Following the release of the Mac Beta Client, we've added another exciting update to the Jagex Launcher over the past week – well hello there multi-account support!

Now you can authenticate multiple accounts with the Launcher and flip between them through a super-simple drop-down menu. And thanks to the security of the Launcher, as long as you haven't been inactive for over 30 days, it can all be done at the press of a button with no login credentials required anytime you switch!

This is another step towards our utimate goal of a single secure Jagex account covering all your different characters. We'll keep you updated on our progress as we go!

Back in July we published our Fan Content Policy – a document designed to give you confidence about what you can and can't create without permission.

We saw some really positive feedback about this from most of our creative communities, but for fan fiction writers, it's clear the policy limitations around word count could impact the creativity of some of the more prolific writers among you!

So, we've released an updated version of the policy has been published today where section 4.1.4 now reads:

Fan Fiction - you can write stories inspired by your adventures in-game and share these on non-commercial third-party fan fiction sites like fanfiction.net or archiveofourown.org, provided you do not receive payment for them in return. If you intend to write a piece of fan fiction for a commercial site (such as Amazon, for example), for commercial publication in a physical form or as a paid-for commission for publication or commercial use, then you will need to run this by us first.

We hope this provides a clearer creative boundary that doesn't limit your personal writing projects with worries about wordcount! Thanks for all your feedback as always.

• Iron accounts can now correctly open the rewards from Wilderness Flash Events.
• Fixed a scaling issue for Wilderness Events that prevented encounters like King Black Dragon Rampage from ending by getting stuck on 0 health.
• You can now teleport to the next Wilderness Flash Event from the event hosts (if you've completed the 'Far-Reaching and Wild-Ranging' achievement) up to 5 minutes before the start of the event.

• Agility Course records will now be consistently displayed regardless of where they are viewed.
• Clicking a Whirligig Scarab that's far away will no longer cause cause you to run around the oasis pool. The first Whirligig Scarab in a stack will now always succeed.
• The side door of the Champions' Guild now requires at least 33 quest points to enter.
• Ironmen will now be able to change their Vorago arrival point at PvM hub portals
• Implemented the following adjustments at the request of players completing quests in timeline order:
  • Moved Blood Pact in the timeline sort between Cook's Assistant and The Restless Ghost, for an early intro to combat prior to the skeletal warlock.
  • Moved Recipe for Disaster in the timeline sort from Heroic to Legendary, so it's listed after its requirements (Legends' Quest, Monkey Madness and Desert Treasure).
  • Moved The Great Brain Robbery in the timelist sort from Heroic to Legendary and below Recipe for Disaster, as it requires Recipe for Disaster: Freeing Pirate Pete.
  • Reclassified Pieces of Hate's difficulty from Master to Grandmaster, as it requires multiple 80+ skills. This moves the pirate finale in the timeline sort from Legendary to Mythic, alongside the finales to the elf, dwarf and myreque series.
  • Reclassified Desert Slayer Dungeon (miniquest) difficulty from Intermediate to Master, as its skill requirements are in the 60-80 bracket. This moves it from Champion to Legendary.
• The quest Sliske's Endgame will correctly state that skipping the fight will not reward the Agent of the Eldest override or a Prismatic Lamp.
• Simplified the requirements of the Wandering Ga'al miniquest.
• Thok's health bar is cleared after leaving the island part of Thok's saga during the Desperate Measures quest. It disappears when progressing through the saga or when leaving it with a dialogue option.
• Velucia is now talking as she should to all levels of players.
• Fixed an issue that prevented automatons from dropping their unique gloves if they were using their special attack.
• Fixed an issue which caused an animation for the Iron-Fist Smithing override to appear inside the player rather than above the anvil being used.
• The Witch outfit is now consistently unlocked when playing through the Witches Cauldron promotion, and any pieces of the outfit that were missed will now be unlocked upon logging in.
• Rebalanced the lighting in Dimension of Disaster
• Raven Terry and Samuel LeBaux have been removed.
• Desert Pantheon Aura UI has been updated and opens in fullscreen mode now.
• Fixed the Crafting icon displaying when hovering over Flax, instead of the Bag icon.
• The Archaeology Research tutorial window disappears after the tutorial is done.
• Fixed some Cape clipping issues with the Closures set, as well as giving the neck a more ghostly appearance.
• An issue has been fixed where some leg gear was showing the incorrect preview image in Character Create.
• The total amount of Oddments displayed when depositing some is now correctly formatted.
• Players should no longer see World: Auto when logging into the lobby.
• A typo in Kerapac The Bound's boss fight has been fixed.
• A typo in a conversation with the Gnome Trainers has been fixed.
• The typo in the 'Bats' Slayer assignment tips was corrected.
• Helwyr has finally remembered how to spell his own name and will no longer refer to himself as Helywr going forward!
• Removed some old-styled grass foliage from a farming patch in Varrock.
• Hotfixed: the Voice of the Seren is now visible to the player again.

• Battery and Wi-Fi indicators have been added to the nobile UI.
• Re-organised the graphical settings interface.
• The description for terrain blending now mentions that it also toggles the ground textures setting.
• XP Globes are now disabled on the Hefin Agility Course on mobile.
• The gold highlight around the Prayer icon at the bottom of the screen disappears when prayers are off.
• Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy buttons no longer redirect the player to Brazilian Portuguese sites on iPad devices if they were playing in English. Desculpe!
• Made a fix so login webpages still open in-app, but Wiki pages still open out-of-app.

The Wilderness is the place to be this week, as we launch new miniquests, combat encounters and skilling activities!



The Wilderness got a new lease of life recently, and the good times continue this week with the launch of Flash Events!

This is a new series of repeatable scenarios for combat players and skillers alike. With no level or quest requirements, and easy-to-understand, satisfying gameplay, anyone can jump in and get involved!

Every hour, one of the 13 new possible events will spawn. These bite-size scenarios range from skilling activities, such as Mining a Fallen Star spewing deadly fire, to combat encounters – including a potential confrontation with the King Black Dragon!
[h2]Rewards[/h2]
Completing events bags you XP as well as loot from the Wilderness Flash Events loot table. On top of that, there are some very special rewards waiting for you…

• A Dark Onyx Core will drop in special encounters. This is a character-based Enchantment that, once activated, transforms high-end skilling items Grace of the Elves, Luck of the Dwarves and Passage of the Abyss into even more powerful variants.
• Other rewards include the new Wilderness Obelisk and Flash Event teleports, plus Wildy loot table improvements!

[h2]How To Play[/h2]
Start by visiting the Wilderness Flash Events hosts, Nikkel and the Wandering Ramokee, in Edgeville, near the Wilderness Wall. You can also track events as they appear via the Distractions and Diversions menu.

Today’s update also sees the launch of two miniquests, (of an eventual three) which together will bridge the gap between Daughter of Chaos and our final major quest of the year. These miniquests explore the ongoing Zamorakian activities emerging as civil war ravages the Wilderness!

Complete Civil War Part 1 to unlock your third Infernal Puzzle Box reward, which prevents adrenaline from draining outside of combat*, plus a Small XP Lamp.

Then finish Civil War Part 2 – tied to the new Wilderness Flash Events – to unlock your fourth Infernal Puzzle Box reward, which provides a 25% extra experience boost to Brawling Gloves, and another Small XP lamp!

Part 3 will arrive with a future update, so stay tuned for more news on that front!
[h2]How To Play[/h2]
The Civil War miniquest series is available to all members who have completed Daughter of Chaos.

• To start Part 1, head to Falador Castle throne room. Select 'Legacy of Zamorak' when the pop-up appears.
• To start Part 2, visit Anne Dimitri in the Wilderness, northeast of Edgeville.

*Note: If you already have the third Infernal Puzzle Box reward unlocked, you will retain access to it and won't need to complete this miniquest to gain the benefits.



Double XP has arrived in Fresh Start Worlds! Skills under 70 will benefit from Double XP all week, while those over 70 will get their first XP rate increase to +75%. Oh, and if you've been trying to get those valuable mats for levelling, we've got good news – you will have a 20% chance to scoop a double helping of whatever resource you're after every time you gather!

• NEW: +100% XP (skills below level 70).

• It's now possible to trade FSW Halos, Familiar Halo appearance tokens and Inverted Skillcape tokens with Iron accounts.
• Halos and Familiar Halo appearance tokens can now be traded on the Grand Exchange.
• Dinarrows can be now imbued faster to prevent the logout timer from activating. The amount of XP given per stack of Dinarrows has been reduced by the same proportion, to maintain the same XP per hour.
• Moved where Abyssal Scourge stacks build in the combat system. They will now apply via Essence of Finality specials and against NPCs that fake health bars (for example, Zamorak's red bar).
• The Magma Tempest (targeted) ability has now been fixed and triggers correctly when switching targets.
• Updates on your daily challenge progress are now displayed in the chatbox (but only for challenges which give a progress update, obviously).
• Fixed Solak solo player scaling related to the Blight Bar in Phase 2.
• Fixed Solak projectile animations.
• When Grotesque spawns there is now a chat message informing players.
• Additionally, Grotesque now spawns for a longer period of time.
• The length of time before the stream becomes inactive in The Nexus has been increased.
• The amount of corruption stored in the Charmed Sack in The Nexus is now displayed in the tooltip.
• Players now keep the Stone of Jas area damage boost after entering the Ice Strykewyrm cave.
• Stacking Whirligig Scarabs will now fill Hunter Urns, provide Strange Rocks, and count towards Daily Challenge progress.
• Elena can now be found in her house during Mourning's End Part 1 and Plague's End.
• The 'A Familiar Feeling' achievement is now possible for players with max Summoning Points.
• The game no longer crashes on Mobile while entering the Penguin Agility Course.
• We put the 'Gilded' back into the Gilded Shoulder Cape!
• The Master Completionist Cape and its trimmed version now appear correctly in the wardrobe.
• Walk overrides will no longer affect the ring of gravestones.
• Fixed an issue where the Treasure Hunter tutorial persisted into the Oddments Store.
