RuneScape Field of Screams brings Halloween to the MMO, with lots of rewards

Halloween is by far my favorite time of year in an MMO. Jack-o'-lanterns adorn the streets, ghostly quests become available, and there's all manner of gothic attire to unlock. The RuneScape Field of Screams quest is one of the spooky season's best, with the 2024 Harvest Hollow event launching in full swing. There's a brand new hub, plenty of activities to get involved in, and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse even make an appearance.

What are the Runescape system requirements? You won't need an intimate knowledge of Runescape to know that it isn't the most demanding game to run on PCs and laptops. That being said, there is still some value in knowing where the bar sits, and how your hardware stacks up.


Runescape is one of the best free PC games of all time, and both Runescape 3 and Old School Runescape follow the same system requirements. So the below specs apply to both games regardless of whether they are downloaded via Steam or the Jagex Launcher.

Earlier this week, Runescape developer Jagex announced upcoming pricing increases for Runescape membership costs. On September 27, 2024, the price of a membership subscription will increase from $12.49 USD per month to $13.99 USD per month. A premier 12 month subscription, which includes additional in-game bonuses for subscribing for an entire year at once, will increase in price from $79.99 USD annually to $99.48 USD annually...

Runescape's latest content roadmap includes group ironman mode, a new skilling boss, and exciting advancements in woodcutting




Runescape, the game that isn't the old school one that I imagine when someone says "Runescape," just rolled out a new roadmap of upcoming content. On YouTube, Runescape developer Jagex unveiled Runescape Ahead, which it says will be its ongoing format for long-term previews of updates on the horizon. In the first instalment, detailing what'll be hitting Runescape through late 2024 and early 2025, Jagex offered early glimpses at a pile of new features, updates, and content additions, like new story quests and bosses, a group ironman mode, and more.
