The experiment with this chapter is that both of its locations will be presented in the first person - to emphasize the emotional importance of this part of the story for the protagonist. Two years ago, he had a different life, but after some events, his former life ended. And he refers to a new life to a certain extent detached - from the third person, as in the main time of the game. This is typical for his actions in the real world and in the worlds of fantasy MMOs, where the game character of our hero meets the character of the Customer to agree on the details of the deals. Thus, reality and the game are presented from the third person, demonstrating the "equidistance" of what is happening in both worlds from the main character, and to some extent his indifference.

In the further development of the plot, it is also planned to change the species at key moments, indicating their personal importance, and often the shock states of the protagonist. Making it clear that at the moments of making important decisions, he becomes himself, partly returning his old life.
Yes, and in the new chapter we will know the name of the protagonist for the first time... We will do without spoilers now, but believe me, everything was conceived so as to look impressive. Ideally, the name should speak for itself, tell its own story, and we aimed at such a result.

Early Access is always, to some extent, an experiment.

By running The Divine Invasion as a third-person game (mainly to implement beautiful and dynamic sword fights), we found that the logic of the plot development requires giving the main character more personality.

In many ways, it is for this purpose that we have developed a new chapter, revealing the backstory of the protagonist. The chapter is intended to show who he was before the events of the game, and hint who he will become. However, some things are obvious... for a real hero, the choice is small: do what you must, and come what may.
