V15.01 Update!

Hey folks! A while back we posted about some upcoming map/game changes that were in development. These updates were based on map feedback from our community. Today we are putting those alterations LIVE on the Test Branch of the game.

The current plan is to shift it to the main/live branch next week. (This is dependent on there being no issues.) So players will want to check their build locations to see what may be impacted by the changes- and move or tear down what you can.

To access the testing branch, right-click on The Infected in your Steam library and hit properties. There you will find a BETAS tab, select BETA and launch your game as usual.

Note that: All V14 save files loaded on the new V15 will see all foliage respawned. Additionally you'll notice that the new tech recipes will be auto completed- since many are items that were previously available as recipes in the Itempedia. Also- you may come across a POI house that you are unable to enter. This is intended! It will be used to host a future update.


[h2]Content[/h2]
  • Tech Revision- Tech recipes will be adjusted, adding in new tech and adjusting some former recipes to be learned via tech. To accommodate this change AND user feedback, RNG will no longer govern tech. Discovering blank pages will net you one Tech Point, allowing you to choose the order you unlock and progress through technology.
  • A dozen large flat areas have been added to the map, great for those that favor open land for large builds.
  • New biomes - Meadow, Hybrid Desert, Redwood forest.
  • New items: Oil Shale, Desert biome shale boulders, Aloe Vera plant
  • New POI houses
  • Changes to existing content: Oil extractor requires shale, mineral extractor will extract shale in desert biome, screws are no longer required to repair the ATV, and bandage recipes have been changed to include aloe.
  • Work was done on optimization to reduce RAM requirements for the game.

V14.13 Hotfixes

Just a couple fixes.

FIXED - Waterhouse material was turned black, now fixed.
FIXED - Could not place Mike in his bed once rescued after a game load.

V14.12 Builders Update!

Hi everyone!

We're happy to release patch V14.12, which introduces a variety of new build parts and upgrades. This update should also remedy the issue Mike was having with completing repairs.

[h2]New Upgrade System[/h2]

New skins have been added for many of the current building pieces, and a radial UI menu was introduced to filter through building options more easily. Most parts can be built in various materials and colors.



[h2]Other Fixes and Changes[/h2]

ADDED - Sound effect when constructing build parts.

BUGFIX - Mike was broken when trying to repair stuff.
BUGFIX - AI campfires would sometimes spawn in player bases if they had multiple land claim poles close to each other.
BUGFIX - Could move the AI house when mike was in his bed not cured yet, this would cause issue for Mike.
BUGFIX - Gear durability could go into the negatives, added a clamp to ensure 0 is the lowest.
BUGFIX - Hunting tutorial quest description still read that you can poke fish in lakes.
BUGFIX - Would not allow placement of Half Ladders unless a player was building it with the land claim pole radius.
BUGFIX - Player backpack Weight would not increase when catching fish.

CHANGE - Brick and Cement/Concrete build parts HP increased from 200 to 500.

V14.11 Hotfix update!

Hi everyone!

Just a few bug fixes.

FIXED - Identified and fixed an issue that caused fps drops/hitches when player bases would become very large.
FIXED - Dropped food items from the food prep table would cause the food to perish.
FIXED - Some floating or misaligned cliffs in the level.

V14.10 Hotfix update!

Hi everyone!

This update is mainly to address a major issue that causes the game to crash when using the newly added max craft button. We have also made a few AI tweaks. Minibosses will now use their 'grab and push player down' attack that was disabled temporarily. This will result in a harder AI to contend with and defeat.


FIXED - Major issue with the Max craft button that caused a crash in some circumstances, especially when crafting weapons when no room existed in your backpacks.
FIXED - Max button and quantity input in the players crafting menu would remain visible in some circumstances.
FIXED - Barn was too large and depending on the rotation when placing its ghost, it would either not able you to place it or would flash green/red.
FIXED - A hole in the map in the south west cave.


CHANGE - Miniboss grab attack re enabled.
CHANGE - Made the barn smaller in size. (about 20% smaller) Players may wanna check its placement after this adjustment.
