Launch Date & FGT Schedule

Hello gamers!

We’re here with an update to show you guys what we’ve been working on.
Regarding Early-Access
We’ve originally planned for our game’s Early Access to start on March 2021. But truth be told, we don’t think that this is feasible due to COVID-19 making it difficult for us to work together. We’ve also decided to be a bit more greedy and add more contents from the very start of Early-Access.

We also want to tell you guys that we have read every single one of your feedback and comments about the game and are hard at work to implement changes that are needed. Early-Access isn’t something that we consider lightly and we want to make absolutely sure that the game meets the quality that you gamers are expecting. Ultimately, we’ve decided to postpone our Early-Access launch to June, we hope that we’ll be able to deliver the gaming experience we want for you all to enjoy.

So what’s changing? We’re focusing on the game’s ‘combat system’ and ‘permanent upgrades.’
Improvements to Combat
Our game’s three main pillars of combat are ‘Weapon Upgrades,’ ‘Gears,’ and ‘Cores.’
In the demo we’ve released, users only really got to utilize Cores, which can be tedious and stale and isn’t the full gameplay experience we wanted to deliver. We’re making overall improvements and completing ‘Weapon Upgrades’ & ‘Gears’ so that progress for each run feels more exciting.

  • Weapon Upgrades
Meet Honk during your runs and trade in ‘Roses’ to get powerful upgrades for your equipped weapon of choice.

Weapon upgrades are extremely powerful and versatile. Each type of upgrade has upto 5 levels, the amount of ‘Roses’ needed to upgrade greatly increases per level.

  • Gears
Gears can be acquired during your runs by unlocking chests with ‘Red Gems.’ Most gears offer you a passive perk but we’re also creating active gears that you can use in addition to your skills and weapon attacks.

  • Cores
As most of you probably already know, Cores are powerful upgrades that grant elemental powers to you and your equipped weapon. We’re adding ‘hyper cores’ which are, as it sounds, hyper-powerful moves that can devastate your foes.

Using ‘hyper cores’ use up tons of energy but also dishes out tons of damage. Use these cores wisely during combat.

Other than the things we’ve mentioned above, we’re also creating a permanent passive skill system, a tutorial and additional difficulty settings.
Focus Group Testing
We want all these new things to make it to our Early-Access launch. To do so, we need to make sure that we’re on the right track and that these new additions are fun to play! That’s why we need YOU to participate on our focus group test to try out the game in advance. Here’s how you can participate:

  • FGT Application period: 2021.03.11 ~ 2021. 04.13
  • How to join FGT: Apply for Steam Playtest on Blade Assault’s Steam page
  • FGT period: 2021.04.14 ~ 2021.04.21
Details on how to join :
1. Open Blade Assault’s Steam store page
  2. Click the ‘Request Access’ button on the store page
  3. Play the ‘Blade Assault Playtest’ app during the FGT period

Development Letter #1

Hello gamers!

We wanted to write you guys a short announcement here to briefly talk about what’s been going on with us recently.

We recently uploaded an UPDATED version of our demo build on our Steam page. We fixed many bugs (including the ones you guys reported) and made some gameplay changes/improvements as well. If you haven’t already checked out our newest build, please consider doing so! Plus, it’d be great if you could share your feedback with us. We also reached our Kickstarter campaign goal! We still have around 3 days left, so if you were planning to back our project, now’s the time! Here’s the link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/bladeassault/blade-assault. A special thank you to each and every one of our backers that’s helping us focus on developing the game and making it the best it can be.

(check it out in our new demo build!)

Commander of the Resistance ‘Armstrong’

Genius Hacker ‘Rio’

After defeating Ratmothan in the Undercity, you’ll find an elevator that the was guarding that leads to the Forsaken City. We’re currently working extensively on this area of the game right now. The Forsaken City is ridden with all sorts of mutant creatures. There are agile bugs with sharp claws, ‘Hive’ creatures that continue to spew out bugs until you get rid of it and bugs that send out explosive little buglings among many others. With a completely different map layout and background, we’re trying to design the Forsaken City to feel totally different from the Undercity.

We’re always going to focus on developing the game as our number one priority. Expanding contents such as future maps, monster/NPC design and system related improvements/additions… we’re working hard to create a game we all envisioned when we started developing the game. Of course we are also keeping a close eye on your feedback. While we won’t be able to address each and every one of them, there have been sharp critiques and things that we haven’t even thought of ourselves being reported by you guys that we will definitely implement/change. So please keep the feedback coming and we’ll make sure that your voices are heard. Again, thank you so much for the support!- Team Suneat.

Regarding user feedback & upcoming news!

Hello gamers!

We’ve recently, for the first time ever, exposed our game to you with our demo build and CBT!
It was exciting for us to finally hear your thoughts on our game.
That being said, we have read each and every one of your feedback and are grateful that you took the time to deliver your feedback to us.

Our team has since had multiple discussions on user feedback and wanted to share with you what will change thanks to your collective voices.
Feedback

I don’t know what to do! I’m lost!
Our game was designed so that you need to kill a certain minimum number of enemies in the map to activate the teleporter. However, there were many feedback saying that this was not well enough conveyed through gameplay. We are planning to make changes so that users will instantly & intuitively understand how to play and proceed to the next stage via gameplay.

There were also a lot of users that didn’t know ‘Kil’ (the main character) has his own basic move commands such as a ‘dive’ move and a ‘parry’ move. We’re planning to address this by adding a tutorial later on in development.
Regarding gameplay
There were valid criticisms that if you didn’t save enough Red Gems by the time you meet ‘Hank’ you just had to miss out on an opportunity to pay for his awesome upgrades. We completely agree with this feedback and have already made changes so that the upgrades that ‘Hank’ provides are dirt cheap to pay for.

We’ve also came across a bunch of feedback regarding balance issues/concerns. Balance is something that we are always thinking about, and probably something we’ll never be able to get out of our heads. Please continue sending us your thoughts on the overall state of balance in our game, while there is never a “fix-all” solution, we can make better changes with more data & feedback.
Bugs...bugs...bugs!
We are terribly sorry for those of you that weren’t able to play the game for a while due to bugs. While we were able to make relatively quick fixes, we apologize for the inconvenience and loss of your precious time. To be completely honest, this is not something we can promise. But rest assured that QA is never something we take lightly.
Crowdfunding on Kickstarter
Moving forward: we are planning to make more changes and add more contents into the game for the single goal of making the game more FUN TO PLAY!

Speaking of us wanting to keep developing, we’ve been planning and waiting for the right time to start our Kickstarter campaign and we’re thinking that it’s going to be REAL soon.
So if you want to grab an early Steam key for the game & support us during the moment it counts the most to us, we would greatly appreciate it! We’re also planning to have some merch goodies and a chance for some of you to participate in some light designing of in-game contents with us.

Here’s the link to our Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bladeassault/blade-assault

Thank you so much for being part of the pioneering members for Blade Assault.
We promise to do our part and keep working to make the game awesome for you guys.
