An Update On Linux And Mac

Ho there, adventurers!

Over the last few weeks we’ve been hard at work putting Black Geyser through its paces, to make sure it’s as bug free as possible across both PC, Mac and Linux systems.

Unfortunately, in recent days we’ve encountered several critical issues on Mac and Linux that has led to use making the difficult decision to delay their respective releases by several weeks. We’re incredibly sorry for this, and know there are plenty of you who were looking forward to exploring Isilmerald.

Where both platforms are concerned, unavoidable issues have arisen in the building process for these platforms, and the team is working hard to resolve them as quickly as possible.

As soon as we're able, we'll be providing Mac and Linux users with an update on when you can expect to be able to play Black Geyser.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We're giving away a Black Geyser gaming PC with a pretty sick skull case

Over on the PC Gamer forums, we're raffling off a new RTX 3060-powered gaming PC provided by the creators of Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness. Black Geyser is an RPG inspired by classics such as Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale. It's releasing on Steam in Early Access soon, and the small team behind it has built this custom gaming system to promote that August 26 launch. One person who enters the sweepstakes will win the PC, which includes:..

After A Black Geyser Fix? Grab A Demo Key With Intel

Ho there, adventurers!

While we put the finishing touches to our Early Access build, we're proud to announce that we've partnered with Intel to give players the opportunity to grab a demo build of Black Geyser. With the clock ticking and the event opening in a few hours, you'll be able to get a key and play through the opening sections of the game: we wanted to give you all a heads-up.

How do you win a key?

Simple! Head to the page, follow the instructions, and as long as all the keys haven't gone, you'll get to jump into Black Geyser.

It's important to us that as many people as possible get a taste of what the game has to offer, and while the demo build isn't as vast as Early Access, we hope it gives just a glimpse of what we've been working on. We hope you'll encourage your friends to grab a demo key, but also dive in yourselves to explore what Isilmerald has to offer.

Please note these keys are Steam and Windows only.

We can't wait for Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness to launch into Early Access on August 26th, on Steam and GoG. We hope you'll join us on that journey: ‘Wishlist’ and ‘Follow’ us!

It's The Little Things That Matter

Ho there, adventurers!

As we march towards our August 26th Early Access release date, we just wanted to give a short update on a few little things we’ve been working on.

You wouldn’t be surprised to hear that we’re hard at work on quality assurance right now, as well as making smaller refinements to the Early Access version to ensure that your Black Geyser experience is as bug free as possible. However, while we might have missed some bugs(that’s the whole point of Early Access!), we still think it’s incredibly important to get the game in your hands as polished as possible.

One of the things we’ve recently done was to take a pass at the existing lighting in locations and buildings to ensure it’s all consistent. We realized that a tavern entrance in the town of Crimson Crossing didn’t look quite right - it had a bit of a lighting problem. As a huge tavern that’s important for travellers preparing to rest their weary heads after a long journey, how would its visitors find it? We’ve taken the time to not only add stronger lighting, but also far clearer signage...

Here's the before and after.

Previously in Black Geyser, there was no way to interact with signs when you wanted to establish a location: there is now!

Simply click with the mouse cursor on any signs in the game and the name of the location will be displayed. It might be a small change, but for immersion and getting to know your surroundings that little bit more, we think it makes a big difference.

Next week we’ll be rolling out a series of blog posts to talk about the Gods of Yerengal, crafting, a closer look at the world and how the greed system works.

Oh, and as a final surprise, here’s something we’ve been working on...

Look forward to jumping into the Kingdom of Isilmerald when Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness launches into Early Access on August 26th, 2021 on Steam and GOG. Don’t forget to ‘Wishlist’ and ‘Follow’ us!
