Now that we can get down to the core of the devlog, we are pleased to introduce you to two special NPCs in the world of Pandemic Train.
Ladies and gentlemen: Jacques and Monique !

They are doctoral students from the Secret University, and they specialize in the study of all things living. Biology and medicine are their passions, so it's no surprise that they are now conducting research on…an antidote!



They are also special for another reason. When you meet these two during your exploration, you'll be able to buy some useful items like a first aid kit from Jacques.

Monique, on the other hand, specializes in mushroom research, and grows them no where else but in old and unused… wagons! That's right! Monique is the person from whom you can get an extra wagon for your train!



As you can see, your feedback and suggestions matter! The idea you've given us while reviewing the last demo made it to the main game, and we hope it will meet your expectations.

Now you can gain more space in your train to place more production stations and explore what they have to offer! If you have never built a bar for your crew or a dairy, this may be the perfect time to make up for it!

Today is one of devlog Thursdays with more news on Pandemic Train!

We want to show you a part of the pause menu in our game. You're probably wondering what may be so interesting about a pause menu. Well, let us tell you a bit about it, then!

When you're playing a game, and you want to learn more about a particular thing or mechanic, you don't want your character to be exposed to attacks while you're trying to gain knowledge, do you?

For this purpose we created a codex which is located in the pause menu. You click ESC and all the needed information is available to you!
But what can you actually find out there?
Here we have several tabs in the codex, so let's start one by one:

Characters
- Here you will find all the leaders you have already met during the game. You can learn all about them here. The total amount of HP, what weapons are used by a given leader, what he can do that others can't, what module you get with him at the start, and even his biography!
However, that's not all, you will also find information about the enemies you have already met!



Items
- List of all discovered items and information about them. They are divided into 4 categories:
1. components – craft items, basic raw materials,
2. usable – consumable items, e.g., plague vial, vaccine, water, food,
3. weapons – here we see the strengths and weaknesses of leaders' weapons
4. special items – items to be found in the world, which can be assigned to leaders.



HQ
- Here you will be able to look into your progress at the headquarters. Information about the bonuses you already have and those you will get after upgrading HQ is located here.

Modules
- Information on their price, what can be produced with them, and which skill will be improved during the work.



As you can see for yourself, pause menu grants you with a vast amount of knowledge!
However, it does not end there. Apart from the codex, we also have tabs with a map, quests, and a tutorial where you can learn even more!

We have a short but interesting announcement for you! Today, we’re launching separate sign-ups for Beta-tests!

What about Steam Playtests? A lot of you signed up there, and we’re very happy to see all those applications. However, we have only 100 spots open for tests and Steam doesn’t allow us to choose who gets the game and who doesn’t. It’s important to us to have that possibility, because we want to get opinion from players all around the world who speaks different languages and play different genres.
It also doesn’t allow us to collect proper feedback from you. Therefore, we’ve decided to open our own Beta Sign-up Form.



The Beta registration starts today and lasts until November 15.
We plan to decide our beta testers and begin beta tests in the second half of November.

We want you to meet a new character in Pandemic Train. You will be able to come across this mysterious gentleman during your exploration of the area.



As he himself has already told you, he is a traveling salesman from which you will buy schematics to build new modules on your train during the exploration phase.
At the start of the game, you will receive only a few basic modules, and they will depend on which leader is in the crew. Each of them has its own assigned module.
Well... it won't be easy
