Cricket JRPG Monthly Update: August 2023 Edition!

Hey all!

We're still at it! Here's some more updates about Cricket: Jae's Really Peculiar Game!.

Let's hope this update stomps into your feeds like an attack from Acacia, as she is the subject of this month's update!

In battle, Acacia has average stats all around, but her voice based attacks have a chance to make enemies skip their turn! She also has various attacks that do a ton of damage to single enemies! Her default attack can even hit multiple enemies for a small amount of damage.

Acacia has a bit of a mean streak, look out!

As for other updates, we will be showing A LOT more very very soon, with a huge update coming in a few weeks, look forward to it! We will be appearing at PAX West with said news, we hope to see you there!

Yes, that was an announcement of an announcement.

Cricket JRPG Monthly Update: July 2023 Edition!

Hey all!

No long wait between news bits this time! We're working hard to make updates and market Cricket: Jae's Really Peculiar Game!

Let's hope this update adjusts your feed like a grenade from Charlie! Speaking of which, they are the subject of our post this month!

In battle, their function is to throw items and inundate the enemy with status effects, while giving the team tremendous buffs. Their duo and trio attacks with other team members make maximum use of their capabilities. They have pretty good defense too, so they can even be at the front of battle!

They also have a robot dog: Dooders! He will be helpful in battle in various ways, such as being a weapon, or making status effects apply to entire teams!

As useful as they are, they suffer from imposter syndrome and seek the validation of others through their work output, what's that about? Play when the game comes out and find out!

As for other updates, we will be showing A LOT more very very soon, with a huge update coming around Fall, look forward to it!

Cricket JRPG Monthly Update: June Edition!

Hey all!

Long time no see, sorry for all the silence, it's been hard to make updates and actually market Cricket: Jae's Really Peculiar Game at the same time.

Let's hope this update crashes into your feed like this spell from Twila!

There's been a ton of developments since we've last talked, a lot to mention! We've been working on engine improvements (Cricket is built on Kumiho Engine 2.0), while implementing the rest of our cast list!

Since it's been a while, let's do a quick reminder of what Cricket: Jae's Really Peculiar Game is:

Cricket: Jae’s Really Peculiar Game is a heartfelt JRPG with exploration focused on interactions with the world and characters through childish antics, and battles focused on combining attacks with friends and calling out the opponent's tendencies.
The hand drawn art and unique perspective will capture player’s eyes. The story of loss, loneliness, and friendship will capture player’s hearts. The battles will capture players attention by focusing on understanding enemy patterns, with pairing up with friends being critical to success.

With that description out of the way, for today we'll show our mage, our damage dealer, Twila!

In battle, her function is to cast spells and deal massive damage, but has very low defense! Twila equips and uses Elemelons that she can switch around mid battle, casting a spell of the matching element enhances the damage, so plan accordingly!

As powerful as she is, at home she has been bullied a bunch, we'll have to find out why and extend our hand of friendship to her when the game comes out!

We're Back from PAX West 2022!

Hey all,

After half a week of seeing your happy faces playing the demo, receiving your kind feedback, and taking some time to recover, we just wanted to say thank you so much for enjoying Cricket: Jae's Really Peculiar Game so far!

Here's some pictures we managed to snag during the event, should have taken more, but the event was too good! The booth layout this year ended up working better than last year's, we even had an extra setup!

Some before, during, and after images:

For those who dropped by the booth, we're glad you enjoyed the new Symphony gameplay, we were worried that a directionless demo wouldn't fare well.

Your support is truly everything, it's what keeps us going during those late nights of work, when we're not sure if we're making the right choices along the way. So once again, from all of us at Studio Kumiho, thank you a ton!

We will continue to do our very best, here's hoping you join us for the ride!

Symphony will be playable at PAX!
Hey all!
Hope you're doing well! Just here to announce that Symphony, the girl who crash lands a traffic cone at the end of our first demo, will be playable for the first time ever at PAX West 2022!

Symphony is a hard hitting and fast moving character, with devastating two hit attacks and an awesome trio attack with Zack and Jae! Be careful though: she has lower health and defense due to her reckless strategy!

Enjoy some pics of her and how she looks in game! We're excited to show her to you all. Show up to booth #756 at PAX and give her a try!
