Time flies and we're not slowing down! It's been an incredibly exciting year for our team and the Pizza Slice project - a year of change, challenge, and growth. We started our journey as Pizza Simulator, but as time went on the project underwent a huge transformation, both in the game itself and in its identity. The new name - Pizza Slice - perfectly reflects what we want to offer: a slice (or rather a full portion) of the great fun of running your own pizzeria!

In this devlog, we recap the major changes and events of the year, but that's not all! We look behind the scenes, discuss where we're heading in the coming months, and let you know what's in store for players in future updates.


[h2]New name, new vision[/h2]
After a long absence from our side in the first half of the year (for which we apologize), we returned with a big change this November. A new name, a refreshed Steam page, and a different direction for the game. It was an extremely important moment for us but your response exceeded our expectations. Your embrace of the changes, positive comments, and feedback have given us even more motivation and reassurance that we are on the right track.

With these changes, Pizza Slice communicates what it is better – it's not just a game, but a full-fledged, humorous adventure that immerses the player in the world of running their own pizzeria. From competing with local restaurants to solving everyday problems and making tough business decisions, our vision has come full circle.

One of the highlights of this year was the announcement of the game's release. Coming in 2025, Pizza Slice will challenge you to manage a pizzeria and bake the best pizza ever!


[h2]What was going on behind the scenes?[/h2]
Over the past few weeks, Pizza Slice has undergone a number of significant changes that will take the game to a whole new level!

First of all, we have improved the fluidity and visuals of the game. These improvements make the town, your pizzeria and of course the pizzas themselves look even more inviting!

We also didn't forget to make the game world more dynamic and alive. Improved NPC behavior makes the townspeople react more naturally, and interactions with them are more interesting and satisfying.
We also redesigned the dough kneading system to make it more intuitive and engaging.

But creating Pizza Slice isn't just about coding and designing mechanics, it's also a lot of artistic work and creative brainstorming. From the initial sketches of the pizzeria to the design of the characters to the details that create the atmosphere of the game, a lot was going on behind the scenes!

A year of change and progress is behind us, but this is only the beginning of our pizza adventure! Now it's time to look ahead and tell you what we're working on and planning for the coming months.

At the beginning of the year, we will be focusing on further refining the AI and behaviour of the NPCs. We want the interactions you encounter during gameplay to be not only realistic but also rewarding and engaging.

We are also working on increasing the number of ingredients available in the game – we plan to double their current number, which will give you even more opportunities to create unique pizzas and experiment in the kitchen!

These changes are just part of what we are preparing for you, and the next few months will bring even more exciting updates.

Today marked the start of the Steam Cooking Festival, so we come to you with an important announcement. As we are moving forward with the project, Pizza Simulator has officially become Pizza Slice! The new name better reflects our vision and the direction we are taking with the game. Although the name has changed, our passion for creating delicious pizza remains the same!

Just when you think you've waited a long time for your pizza... Imagine if someone ordered a pizza from London and it arrived in Melbourne... in Australia... after 2 days! And it was still delicious! In 2001, Pizza Hut delivered a pizza to the International Space Station! Pizza in space? We're sticking to Earth for now, but who knows, maybe one day our pizzas will go into orbit.

We apologize for our long silence! Our team has been working hard on new updates and is preparing some major changes that will affect our game and the project as a whole. What's coming will surely surprise you and positively impact your gaming experience!



Since the last devlog, we have focused on refining key game mechanics and characters. One of the most significant changes was introducing a new lighting system and a day/night cycle, which affected the visual perception of the game.


In addition, a new room, the office, has been added to the game, and we will soon start working on the ingredient storage system. We are also reworking the pizza-making mechanics, introducing new features, a better look for the pizza itself, and a more advanced dough-forming system. More details are coming soon!
