Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 News

Hey everyone, the Devs here. We just wanted to drop a few important lines about what is to come in the next few days. We are working on a patch that will solve, hopefully, many issues that have made the release of Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 a bit bumpier than expected. Besides many other things that we will list in detail in the official patch notes, we felt necessary to address a critical issue a bit more in detail, so you know that have heard you loud and clear, and it is the looting system.

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 gameplay is very focused on the looting & crafting mechanic, and we don´t want for the game to lose that essence but, at the same time, the last thing we want is for the gamers to feel miserable having to open and loot dozens of boxes, chests and crates in search of the necessary resources to craft consumables and gear.

Therefore, one of the main fixes that we are introducing in the coming patch is that we are reducing dramatically the amount of lootable containers. Here you can see several screenshots with maps of the same levels. Random generation aside, we are pretty sure that you can feel the difference.

That doesn´t mean that you will now get fewer resources making crafting even more difficult. We have also changed this in a way that you will get several units of one same resource by looting it just one time.

Also, we have reduced the amount of resources necessary to craft consumables and gear to match the new looting system and still making the search of certain resources an interesting goal for the players.

This is just the first step on our goal of making an optimal looting system for the game and, in the future, we will include new improvements so you can focus on fighting against the forces of Evil, and not just picking up objects from the floor.

It's been one week since we released Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2. During that time, we have been collecting feedback from all of you and we are getting ready to implement the changes!

There is a patch on its way that is heavily inspired by your ideas and opinions, and it will address some of the issues you pointed out, such as characters' movement, looting system, traps, debuff system behaviour, crafting balance and much more! The game should be much more enjoyable then! This will be the first wave of improvements, more are already planned for the next patch.

Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 has been released and not received as positively as we had hoped it would be. Let us assure you that the testing phase of this game was not rushed. The Blini Games and Fulqrum Publishing teams spent thousands of hours on the game. However, due to the many random elements in the game, some bugs slipped through nonetheless. If you encounter any issue in the game you feel is a bug, please, report it to us by following these instructions. It will help us tremendously track everything down and fix as many problems as possible.

Some issues stem from deliberate design choices and the dev team's creative vision. The lack of a tutorial aimed to promote the atmosphere of uncertainty and chaos in the world, for example. We now see that not all of these choices landed well with players, and we are thoroughly combing through the received feedback and planning steps to make the game fun for everybody. Please keep all your suggestions and requests coming, and they truly are appreciated - you can do so either via the Steam Discussions forums, comments under this announcement, or on our Discord server. All your voices will be heard, and we will soon have more details about the game's future for you.

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2, a nightmarish rogue-like non-stop action game, let’s you switch between 6 different characters which can be unlocked during their journey, each one with a different playstyle. Fan favourites from the previous instalment - the Detective, the Witch and the Professor – make their return, joined in their fight against the insanity of the Great Old Ones by the newcomers: Medium, Veteran and Alienist.

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 continues the narrative of the cult classic first game, but this time you will fight against the unknown with new elements like crafting - using blueprints and resources to create consumables and even new equipment. Reunite with old acquaintances and meet new characters, explore procedurally generated locations, defend yourself against dozens of different enemies and face off against epic bosses. But beware… Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 is more challenging than ever before, and the tough nightmarish creatures opposing you will not give up easily!
