How to unlock Sadness in Disney Dreamlight Valley




The Emotional Valley update introduced Joy and Sadness to Disney Dreamlight Valley, but while Joy is happy to move in right away, Sadness takes a little more convincing. Unlike a lot of character unlocks though, you technically only need to complete one quest before you can welcome Sadness. However, there's a lot of legwork to do in the run-up to triggering this quest which makes the process a little longer.

Before you can unlock Sadness as a villager, you need to have already completed all the quests to unlock Joy. This includes the Dream On quest, which gives you the item you need to take back to Sadness to start her unlock. Do this, and then follow these steps to welcome a new emotion to stay...

[p]Please note: Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition does not include seasonal Star Paths or the Premium Shop.[/p][h2]STAR PATH[/h2][p]Discover a refreshed Star Path experience with new weekly Routine Duties, creative task types, and more rewarding progression designed to give you something fresh to do every week! [/p][p]Update to Duties from the current system[/p]
  • [p]Character-specific duties have temporarily been removed (except Joy and Sadness).[/p]
  • [p]You will no longer be required to complete Duties for previously released characters you have not yet unlocked.[/p]
  • [p]The initial selection of Duties on day one of the event provides enough Tokens to unlock all rewards of the Star Path on the regular track. ((Non-Premium Star Path players must complete the currently active Routine Duties to earn Bonus Rewards, unlocking the next set as they go. Premium Star Path players can complete all released Routine Duties in any order to access Bonus Rewards.)[/p]
  • [p]All additional Duties will go towards unlocking Star Path Bonus rewards.[/p]
  • [p]Memory Orbs related Duties have been significantly reduced.[/p]
  • [p]Restaurant-related duties have temporarily been removed.[/p]
  • [p]Duties that require players to craft Training Manuals have been removed.[/p]
  • [p]Previous Duties that were limited to a specific number of times per day and required multiple days to complete, have been removed.[/p]
[p]New Routine Duties[/p]
  • [p]New Routine Duties unlocked each Wednesday for 5 consecutive weeks (pending on the length of the Star Path, this may vary in the future).[/p]
  • [p]New Duty Types may appear in both Regular Duties and Routine Duties – In Emotional Rescue, there will be Photo Gallery (see details below) and Companion interaction related Duties.[/p]
  • [p]Routine Duties earn you Tokens that can be spent on Star Path and Bonus Rewards. Completing all Routine Duties ensures you unlock every reward in both tracks.[/p]
  • [p]Completing all weekly Routine Duties unlocks the following week’s Routine Duties.[/p]
  • [p]If one jumps into the Star Path at a later date, they will need to complete the Routine Duties in the order they were released but will be able to catch up to that given week’s live Routine Duties.[/p]
  • [p]Premium Star Path allows for progress on all Routine Duties that have been released (linear path no longer required).[/p]
  • [p]If one jumps into the Premium Star Path at a later date, they will be able to complete all the released Routine Duties, in whatever order they choose, in order to catch up to that given week’s live Routine Duties.[/p]
[p]Star Path end time and grace period[/p]
  • [p]The active Duty period has been increased by 5 days for all players![/p]
  • [p]The Grace period, where you can only trade and purchase additional Star Path Tokens, has been reduced and now lasts 48 hours.[/p]

Seamlessly switch from “Line” to “Diagonal” fence modes for even more flexible designs and unique builds![/p][p]More Floating Islands: Owners of Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time will also have additional Floating Islands, each themed after their Biome counterpart and purchasable with Mist. [/p][p]Player House Improvements: Flex your interior decorator muscles with new customizable ceilings! Similar to how floors are decorated, choose from a series of assets to give your Player House a more unique look.[/p][p]Placing Large Items: It is now easier to target specific locations when placing large items in Edit Mode.[/p][h3]OTHER[/h3]
