Thrills & Frills Update Patch Notes

Hey Valley Villagers!

It’s time to kick off an exciting week for Disney Dreamlight Valley with your seasonal dose of patch notes! Not only is there a free content update on its way for all Disney Dreamlight Valley players, but Act II of the Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion pass – available to all expansion pass owners – will also be arriving this week.

We have a lot in store for you, including a new building that’s sure to breathe new creative life into the Valley, new ways to interact with friends during Valley Visits, even more Disney Parks magic and much more. As with previous updates, we also have a wide range of bug fixes and optimizations to share with you as well.

Now get those Touch of Magic designs ready! Disney Dreamlight Valley’s “Thrills & Frills” Update arrives on May 1, 2024! Check out all the details below:

NEW CONTENT AND IMPROVEMENTS (AVAILABLE TO ALL PLAYERS*):

  • Welcome another feathered friend to the Valley – it’s Daisy Duck! Complete new Friendship Quests and help this style icon rekindle her past relationships as you unlock unique new items.
  • Help Daisy open the Boutique; a new building dedicated to sharing your personal style with friends! Display and share custom Touch of Magic designs – both clothing and furniture – during Valley Visits.
  • Looking for another way to flex those creative muscles? Drop in to the Boutique each day to help Daisy redecorate a corner of the shop or take on her inspiration prompts to earn exclusive items, including new Touch of Magic clothing and furniture bases.
  • It’s time for even more Disney Parks magic! Our newest Star Path – “A Day At Disney” – offers up exciting new Disney Parks-inspired rewards, including new attractions, Dream Styles for Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse, and a snacky lil’ animal companion, among many other rewards.
  • Please keep your arms and legs inside the attraction at all times! Ride many of the Disney Parks attractions available in the Valley – including attractions from last year’s Star Path – and take a selfie to commemorate the occasion! When optionally riding attractions, those with motion sensitivities may prefer to switch to Selfie Mode for increased comfort by pressing the "Change Camera Mode" button upon interacting with the attraction.
  • Villagers will now send you mail – and sometimes even gifts – on occasion, giving you a great reason to check your mailbox regularly.
  • It’s selfie time! All players can now use Photo Mode during Valley Visits.
  • It’s not just your camera. Many of the activities you’re used to doing solo are now possible with friends including: fishing, gardening, mining, cooking, crafting, and – if you’ve been to Eternity Isle – time bending!
  • Last update, we implemented some changes to the Furniture Mode camera that sought to increase performance stability. However, we saw that many fans missed the old camera functionality, so we’ve reverted this change – all while maintaining the stability upgrades!
  • Increased text size on Nintendo Switch, improving readability.
  • Express (and reward) yourself with a wide range of new, weekly DreamSnaps challenges.
  • More optional items are coming to the Premium Shop for a limited time, as well as some returning favorites from past Star Paths! We’ve updated the Premium Shop to offer you an even better shopping experience! What this means is:
  • o    All weekly shop rotations are now comprised of 8 bundles / items.
  • o    Preview clothing on your Avatar before buying.
  • o    Get a better look at any special animations an item may have, thanks to a revolving preview display.
  • o    Toggle between day and night – where applicable – to get a better idea of how an item will look in the Valley before buying.

* Please note: Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition does not include seasonal Star Paths or the Premium Shop.

NEW CONTENT AND IMPROVEMENTS (EXPANSION PASS OWNERS):

  • Welcome a very lucky new pal to Eternity Isle and the Valley. Oswald makes his grand entrance alongside new Friendship Quests and new unique items to unlock!
  • Pick up where the story of A Rift in Time left off as you dive into Act II – “The Spark of Imagination”!
  • Use your hard-earned Mist to upgrade the Royal Hourglass to Level Four, unlocking the following:
  • o    New Ancient Parts to collect.
  • o    New furniture items to craft at the Time Bending Station.
  • o    New Fragments and their associated furniture items – inspired by iconic Disney and Pixar stories – to craft, including Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille’s Metro Entrance.
  • o    Take control of the new Dismantle and Upcycle features at the Time Bending Station to repurpose old Ancient Parts, Fragments, Gifts, and Ancient Cores into currency you can spend to craft other items within these categories.
  • Make friends with new variants of the animal companions wandering Eternity Isle, albeit with a monochromatic flair.
  • Collect new Scramblecoin figurines that offer up new powers and strategies to master, including Mike Wazowski from Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. and Oswald.

Disney Dreamlight Valley system requirements - ancient GPU specs

Disney Dreamlight Valley system requirements match the game's lighthearted nature, and you won't need the best graphics card to dive into the life sim adventure. Developers Gameloft says it'll even run on an Nvidia GPU from over 14 years ago, so you'll be able to hang with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy on the crustiest of cheap gaming PC builds.

Disney Dreamlight Valley dev reveals big new DnD RPG game

Gameloft Montreal has done well for itself with Disney Dreamlight Valley. Since it was first made available in 2022, Dreamlight Valley has won over audiences interested in adding Disney flair to the life sim genre dominated by games like Stardew Valley, Coral Island, and The Sims 4. Now, with the announcement of its next project, the studio is branching out a bit from its latest success, leaving the House of Mouse behind to create a new type of game set within the fantasy world of Dungeons and Dragons' Forgotten Realms.

Discover The Laugh Floor Update!

Hey Valley Villagers!

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s first Update of 2024, “The Laugh Floor,” is now LIVE on all platforms! Brush your fur, practice your punch lines, and channel your inner jokester to welcome an EYEconic and unFURgettable duo.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Who knew that funny business was so much work?

Kick off this update content by heading over to the Dream Castle where a new Realm Door awaits! In the past, you’ve visited a Parisian kitchen, an Arendellian forest, and now you’re headed… to work? You’ll be clocking in on The Laugh Floor – but before you can begin your shift, you’ll need to look the part. Create your own monstrous disguise (don’t worry, a standard issue Monsters, Inc. Hard Hat is included), snap a picture for your security ID, and meet your new coworkers.

It seems like the Laugh Power launch party left quite a mess – a PERFECT job for the Laugh Floor’s newest intern - but with a little bit of Dreamlight and a lot of elbow grease, you could become Employee of the Month! Through a brand new series of quests, you’ll help out Mike Wazowski and Sulley with a variety of laugh-related tasks – ending up with two new friends for you to invite to Dreamlight Valley. But the laughs don’t stop there – each Villager arrives with their own friendship questlines and rewards – you’ll just have to break it to them that you might be human first.

Check your mailbox…

As teased and unlocked by fans as rewards for our Community Challenge in 2022, two special surprises await you in your in-game mailbox! All players will find a Dreamlight Armor costume as well as a Partners Statue inspired by the iconic statue of the same name found in some Disney Parks around the world. We’re thrilled to deliver these long-awaited items to all players and see them become a part of your Valleys.

Live Monstrously in the Valley

Mike and Sulley aren’t the only monstrous characters arriving in the Valley in this Update! With new cosmetic options added to the player customization menu, players can create their own monstrous Avatars with a variety of fantasy skin tones, patterns, contact lenses and even fantasy ear shapes, found in the earring menu.

Scrooge McDuck’s Shop gets an upgrade!

Scrooge McDuck’s store is getting a major upgrade – and surprising absolutely everyone that it won’t cost you a single Star Coin! Once the store is upgraded to its maximum level (or if it’s already at maximum level) you can now expect a much larger upper level, with a variety of pedestals and areas to buy different furniture types.

In addition to multiple areas dedicated to wall furnishings, rugs and more, there will be increased chances to purchase items that you are missing from your collection.

Fall in love with the “Lovely Monsters” Star Path

Add to your already monstrous new look with exciting cosmetics such as makeup and wig options – or kick it old school with Disney and Pixar’s Monsters University-inspired Dream Styles for your new pals, Mike and Sulley.

You can also decorate for the perfect Valley Visit with your Schmoopsie Poo with Swan Boats and Chocolate Fountains – or bring some Grecian inspiration to your Valley with Disney’s Hercules themed outdoor furniture!

Comfy never looked so good.

Pick up the new Starlight House Bundle in the Premium Shop to add the ultimate cozy collection of accessories to your Valley! Featuring a variety of slumber-party essentials for your avatar and a new Dream Style for Belle, you can decorate your in-game homes with new furniture items, including a Starry Sky Projector that brings the stars indoors for the perfect night in or select the new Provincial Library House Dream Style. As this new type of bundle does not include any quest content, all items can be found in your collection once purchased!

The Premium Shop also gets new items in our latest update with Monsters, Inc. collection must-haves such as a Boo Onesie, a Dreamlight Valley version of the Disney Parks attraction Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue!, and much more!

Players will also discover fan favorites from past Star Paths making their way to the Premium Shop this season! Expect to see rewards from our previous Pixar Fest and Centennial Star Paths appear in weekly shop rotations this season.

Hop into Eggstravaganza once again!

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Spring event returns! From March 27th to April 17th, expect a variety of new flora to appear in the Valley. Collect Wild Spring Eggs, Spring V-EGG-etables and Egg-cellent fruit from Egg Fruit bushes to contribute to seasonal Dreamlight Duties and craft seasonal furniture.

Be sure to also complete returning daily and weekly quests with WALL·E to help you stock up on extra event materials!

As always, we committed to improving the Valley based on the feedback from our magical Community! • Make your avatar more uniquely you with the Name Change Feature! Found in the Settings menu, you can now change your name as often as you change your style in-game.
  • Doors are back in Scrooge McDuck’s store! Missing for quite some time, we’ve prioritizing resolving a bug that removed doors from shop rotations in updates past.
