Let's draw a bird
Today is "Draw A Bird Day"
A bit of history: in 1943 a young girl visited her uncle in a hospital. He has been wounded during the war. The girl asked her uncle to draw her a bird so that he can forget all his problems and cheer her up with the act of drawing. Even though the uncle's drawing wasn't exceptional it made the whole family happy.

Whether it's a sparrow, an eagle, or a simple pigeon, let's honour our feathered friends with a picture!

It is not about drawing skills but about having fun and enjoying little moments in our lives!

Peter Curleytail's Shearing Shenanigans
Dear Diary, Peter Curleytail the pig here again!
I have to tell you about the most amazing adventure I had today on the farm. I thought I had seen it all, but today was truly a woolly whirlwind!

So, I was exploring the farm with my human friend when we stumbled upon a group of sheep. They seemed a bit restless and, dare I say, itchy. They kept rubbing themselves against trees and fences. My human friend told me they were due for a shave!

I was so curious, I just had to watch. My human friend grabbed a pair of shears and started gently shaving the sheep. I must admit, at first, I was a little worried about their safety, but my friend assured me that the shearing process was not only safe, but necessary for the sheep's health and comfort. As the wool came off, the sheep seemed to feel lighter and happier.

After the shearing was complete, my human friend showed me all the beautiful wool we had collected. They told me that this wool would be used to create cozy blankets, stylish clothing, and even soft toys for the little ones. I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in our accomplishment.

So I've decided to become a shaving assistant! Of course, with my hooves, I won't be able to hold the shears myself, but I'll be there for moral support and to help gather the wool. Maybe one day, I'll even have my own woolly creation to snuggle up in!

Until then, I'll be practicing my shearing skills and learning everything there is to know about our fluffy friends. Oink oink!

Peter Curleytail is baking bread
Today we were baking bread with my human friend!
We first had to get me clean, and to my disappointment, it wasn't a mud bath. We then added the sourdough starter from yesterday's bread to the flour and a bit of salt. My human lady gave me my own piece of dough, hard to knead with those tough hooves!

I must admit that with this amount of funky goodness being so close to my nose, everything had to end up in my stomach, which made her laugh very much. I'm good at what I'm doing, what can I say?

She then fired up the oven while her dough was rising. When it was blazing hot, she put it on a baking tray on her own (again, hoof problem), and we waited glued to the door, watching as the dough rose and cracked, and the loaf slowly obtained a beautiful golden colour.

I must admit that this made me quite hungry, and I munched on a few courgette peels from
the compost bin. What a loaf when it came out, rounded and chubby like me!

We devoured it with a double serving of strawberry jam and many celebratory noises,
as educated piggies like me know how to do, oink oink!

Cannot wait for the next one tomorrow!
Oh wait, don't go just yet!
Dear reader, I have to share with you the recipe we followed for three crunchy baguettes:
- 300g of water
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 490g of flour
- 2.5 teaspoons of dry yeast

Knead everything together for 20min. Preheat your oven to 240C. Cut 3 balls from your dough, and form the baguettes with it. Lay them on parchment paper, make 2 cuts with a sharp knife on each,
spray them with milk and cook them for 25min.

That's it!

Enjoy!

Weird adventures at the Everdream farm!
Dear Diary, Peter Curleytail the pig here!
Today something extraordinary happened. It has been a few weeks since I arrived at the farm and I must… oink oink… admit that some of the local customs are pretty peculiar!

So we went today to the local merchant that I like so much. He always gives me a treat when nobody looks… it’s really tasty… oink! Anyway, so we are going around with our usual business but then I noticed that in the camping of the merchant, there are a lot of hens sitting around with their eggs.

I rushed towards them to say hello. And they all screamed, “cluck cluck”. One started - “I am such a chick, oh wow, you probably never saw such a real chick before…hihih”. Why did she laugh? I wondered… They were all staring at me very excitedly. Another one said, “Yeeees, I love to sit on my egg, this is suuuuche a normal behaviour!

I started to think that those chicks are very odd. But what can I know… I am a piggy, I
don’t know much about the chicken stuff.

Suddenly they all started to laugh very loud but. They didn’t sound like chicks at all! They all screamed “Prima Aprillis!” and took off their costumes. They were all ducks! I couldn’t believe my eyes! Why did ducks dress up as chicks?

I thought “Prima oink?!” … I mean… “Prima what?!”. On top of that, my friend rushed in and screamed “Happy Halloween!”. She was wearing a pumpkin on her head! “But… but… Halloween is in Autumn and we have April now” I mumbled.

Ohh I was certain I was losing my mind, maybe I shouldn’t have eaten that many berries this morning… Everybody was laughing. I rushed to the merchant to ask him what is going on. He explained that in the farm tradition, the 1st of April is April’s Fools Day. On that day everybody makes jokes and tries to make some funny pranks.

That was surprising! I mean, such an odd custom! But you know what, dear diary, I will make the greatest jokes on the farm next year! I will dress up as a lamb or say that I love carrots! Good that I have the whole year to think of something! Oink, oink!

Anyway, it’s getting late, I think I will take a nap now… I heard that we will have some cherries for dinner…
