Category Review Continues + Stage Updates!

Hey everyone!

Another update for Trivia Tricks is coming your way! The Animals and History categories have been quality reviewed and there are a few updates to a number of stages too!

Firstly, we've continued our efforts to remove overly niche, complicated and poorly worded questions from our database - this time focusing on Animals and History. This will improve the overall quality of our questions with more improvements to come in future updates.

Some improvements to stages have also been added in this update! Now each stage has its own unique confetti shapes and colors at the end of a game. Isle del Trickster also has new models to replace carry-overs from the Studio stage.

Lastly some Workshop developments! Over the last two weeks, we've been implementing security for Workshop custom question packs. With these measures in place you won't have to risk your questions being used elsewhere without your permission.

Progress Update on Workshop + FPS Uncap & Category Reviews!

Hey everyone!

It’s time for another Trivia Tricks Regular Update! We’ve got new FPS options, a new undertaking to make our question quality even better and an update on our Workshop progress so far! Read on!

Firstly, several exciting developments in performance! We’ve removed the 60FPS cap on Trivia Tricks, allowing the game to take full advantage of high refresh rate monitors. Additionally, we’ve been improving performance on the lower graphics settings. To take full advantage of these options, check out the new FPS cap available in the Settings menu.

Of course, nothing is more important in Trivia Tricks than the questions! As we’ve recently passed 5,000 questions we thought it was time to review the quality of our categories and begin to prune or rewrite questions that either require niche knowledge, are too convoluted or are generally not very fun for an international audience. This update we reviewed every question in the Music and Sports categories, and will continue to review categories case-by-case over the next few updates.

Lastly, we're close to a Beta for workshop support! This week we finished designing all UI related to our Workshop update. Soon you will be able to upload your custom categories and select them as you would any other category! Keep an eye on our our next few updates!

Visual Clarity And Performance Improvements + Goodbye Trivia Snowdown!

Hey everyone!

Today's update brings a close to our festive event: Trivia Snowdown. We hope you all had fun taking on Santa and Krampus in Co-Op and managed to collect a new hat or two for your troubles! The missions, any unbought festive cosmetics and the Boss challenge will no longer be available until next year. The Winter Village stage however will still be selectable from the stage select menu so feel free to return whenever you like.

Some other non-event related updates includes visual clarity to help you see who was correct or incorrect when an answer is revealed. Your podium will now display a tick or a cross for all to see. There's no hiding your mistakes now! A lot of behind the scenes fixes have been implemented for a smoother gameplay experience too!

Trivia Snowdown Holiday Event! New Stage, Boss and Challenges!

Happy holidays everybody! It’s me, Elf Tricks!

To celebrate the holiday season, the Trivia Snowdown event returns! With even more content to explore, including a new boss, a Festive question category, exclusive cosmetics, a whole new stage and soundtrack, this is easily our most jam-packed event yet!

The cozy Winter Village is a new addition to the stage rotation, between the warm cottages and glowing fairy lights you’ll feel right at home! You’ll be answering questions in the snug village center, all eyes are on you!

Santa and Krampus return as bosses, but now they’re a tag-team?! After each round they’ll swap who’s got control of the podium, but neither is particularly happy about this uneasy alliance. The new ‘Festive’ category (featuring over 300 questions!) is the only category that is enabled by default against Santa and Krampus, but you can even the odds by adding up to 4 more categories of your choosing!

You’ll also find a collection of limited-time cosmetics, with the returning cosmetics having a visual upgrade, alongside some brand new additions! These cosmetics are earned through limited-time challenges or by spending the cookies you’ll earn after every game! Good luck!

Trivia Snowdown will be running from 21st December 2021 until 13th January 2022! So make sure you spend your cookies and complete the challenges before then!
