Releasing for free alongside the South Africa Reserve DLC, patch 1.6.1 includes game-changing improvements like vehicle storage among multiple bug fixes and tweaks.

Upgrades to Float Behaviour - Goodbye stationary floats! Floats and lures are going with the flow now, literally!

• Dev Team’s Note: The currents in our rivers and lakes play an even bigger role in fishing now. From the movement of your floats and lures to your casting location choice, you'll need to keep an eye on the water. So, get ready to embrace the flow!

Customisation UI Overhaul - Say farewell to boring text lists. Welcome to a whole new way to check out your gear! We're bringing in a more visual, icon-based customization menu for you to browse better.

• Dev Team’s Note: Our ever-growing collection of avatar cosmetics needed a new home, and that's exactly what this new tile-based menu is. Now, all your goodies are displayed in full view, making switching styles as easy as a click, without the endless scrolling!

4x4 Storage Upgrade - From now on, your road vehicles double as your traveling inventory. No more detours to the shop, switch up your gear right from your 4x4!

• Dev Team’s Note: We’ve heard your feedback and understood that back-and-forth trips to the shop were quite a hassle. So now, whether you want to access storage or swap reserves just head to your trusty 4x4.

Fast Travel to 4x4 - Navigating the reserves has just become a breeze! With this update, you can fast travel right to your spawned 4x4 within a reserve at your whim.

• Dev Team’s Note: Have you wandered off too far from your car in pursuit of a collectible or a nice view but don’t fancy a walk back? Just select your 4x4 from your map screen, and whoosh, problem solved!

Content Browser Addition - Now, straight from the main menu, you can effortlessly browse through the game's selection of downloadable content!

• Dev Team’s Note: As we keep adding more exciting content to the game, we want to ensure that discovering and accessing it all is as simple as can be. Enjoy browsing!

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
[h3]Gameplay[/h3]

• We’ve fixed an issue where the bail arm would automatically close during the usage of a lure or jighead spinning rig, blocking the player's bait from sinking.
  
• Fish will no longer spin erratically on the line when reaching the Secure Catch stage.
  
• We’ve addressed an issue with incorrectly placed boats when docking at specific jetties in Norway.
  

[h3]Visual[/h3]

• Swapping between the spinner rod and float rod will no longer cause the rods to clip through the player’s hands.
  
• We’ve fixed an issue where boats could sometimes be found floating above terrain on the Spain Reserve.
  
• The peaks of waves caused by small waterfalls are now correctly moving on the water's surface.
  

[h3]UI[/h3]

• Players can now mouse click through the intro video to skip it instead of pressing Enter.

[h3]Audio[/h3]

• We’ve fixed an issue where the audio from a remote player's boat continues for the local player, even after the remote player has exited their boat or left the reserve.

Here’s a snapshot of what will be arriving with the free update:

[h2]Vehicle Storage[/h2]
Vehicles will act as your portable storage. Avoid unnecessary trips back to the shop and swap out your gear on the go from either your boat or 4x4.

Dev Note: Having to go back to the Shop to access your storage or even swap reserves so you don't lose your fishing spot (yes, we know!) interrupted the fishing experience, so we've made the storage accessible from your vehicles at any time.

[h2]Customization UI Overhaul[/h2]
As we've expanded our range of cosmetics for your avatar, the old list-based customization menu has become bloated and unwieldy. To remedy this, we're adopting a tile-based menu so you can clearly see everything you own and instantly switch to what you want without having to scroll through a long list.

Dev Note: Out with the old text based lists! In comes a new customization suite that has icons for players to easily see their item collection.

[h2]Fast Travel to Vehicle[/h2]
You'll be able to fast travel to any of your spawned vehicles within a reserve whenever you choose. Getting around has never been easier!

Dev Note: We love exploring the beautiful reserves, but sometimes you want to get around quicker and spend more time fishing. Fast traveling to a vehicle is possible by selecting any vehicle currently spawned from the map screen.

[h3]Patch 1.5.5[/h3]
In February, Patch 1.5.5 went out and brought some exciting new features! If you missed it you can now fish for four brand new species in Norway, customize your look with more beards and hair, enjoy more fresh-looking menus, and we added the much requested 3rd person camera to vehicles. There were also some casting improvements that have been touched up a bit in our latest fixes!

Jaxy is really lovin' the new beard!

[h3]Online is Back[/h3]
We had issues with our servers during the busier hours for a while there, but they have since been fixed. This was mostly affecting multiplayer functions. It took a while for us to confirm that everything is back in order, but we want to let you folks know that you should be all good to play with your friends again.

[h3]The Next Reserve[/h3]
We can’t wait to go on our next adventure with you. We’re almost there! We’re bringing our finest bucket hat, lures, and a free can of worms we had laying around. Does that help you pack your luggage?

The character customization is getting a shiny new menu! We jazzed it up so that you can see all of your loot at a glance instead of having to scroll through your items to find the one thing you’re lookin’ for!

We heard your feedback about being able to choose when in the day you fish, and we agree! It came with its own challenges as changing time of day freely in a multiplayer server would cause chaos, which is why we’re working on implementing a way to choose your server based on the time of day you want to fish.

• The bail arm no longer closes automatically when using a lure or jighead spinning rig, which used to prevent players' bait from sinking.

• We’ve fixed a bug with the boat engine audio that would cause it to play continuously in certain instances.
  

For some time now, there have also been online issues across platforms. We assure you all that we're working hard to understand the cause and swiftly solve this. We want to be transparent that it will take some more time to get these online features back to where they need to be, but we are working to get our servers running properly again as soon as possible.
