• If you own the Golden Hook Collection vehicle skins, you can now access them normally
  
• Solved an issue where the rod audio would only play through the left speaker

Time flies when you're having fun—two years have zipped by since The Angler made its PC debut in August 2022! Your adventures have taken you through four vast fishing reserves spanning three continents. Together, we've caught over 5 million fish, traveled 866 kilometers, completed 8 million missions and activities, and discovered 25 million points of interest along the way.

[h2]Steam Deck Verification[/h2]
The Angler is now fully verified on the Steam Deck, allowing you to play the game seamlessly wherever and whenever you like. Fishing on the go has never been easier!

[h2]2nd Anniversary Event[/h2]
Summer is here, and some slippery visitors have snuck into the Golden Ridge Reserve! Head on down to the International BBQ Party event area on the island South-West of Diamond's Peak Outpost to join in the fun! Catch some guest fish from other reserves, try the new BBQ mini-game, and stock up on some sweet summer themed gear and apparel in the summer shop!

[h2]New Species: Crayfish and Carpsucker[/h2]
Two new species have been added to Golden Ridge Reserve: the Signal Crayfish, our first-ever Crustacean in the game, and the River Carpsucker.

[h2]Ultimate Double Everything Event[/h2]
For a limited time, earn double EVERYTHING on all catches across all reserves. This is your chance to earn XP and tokens at a much quicker rate than usual, so make sure to mark it in your calendar!

Starts: Wednesday 4th September (00.00 PST/08.00 BST/ 09.00 CET)
Ends: Sunday 8th of September (23.59 PST/Monday 9th September 07.59 BST/ 08.59 CET).

[h2]STAY CONNECTED WITH MULTIPLAYER PARTIES[/h2]
The team has dedicated considerable time improving the multiplayer party system to make fishing with friends more straightforward. Players can now create their own parties of up to six members at any time, even before entering a reserve, or join or be invited to an existing party hosted by a friend.

[h2]COMPETE IN PLAYER-INITIATED COMPETITIONS[/h2]
Set up custom competitions and challenge your friends for some classic angling rivalry. Prove your skills in head-to-head competitions with up to 11 other players on the same server in the following disciplines:

• Biggest Catch: Catch the Biggest (heaviest) Fish
  
• Heaviest Haul: Catch the Most Fish (in total weight)
  
• Fish Frenzy: Catch the Most Fish (in number)

If you wish to start a competition then navigate to the 'Competitions' Tab



You can then press 'Create a Match' and can proceed to choose Event Format, Privacy, Duration and catching criteria for the competition with the Minimum Rank & Species options.



Once these options are confirmed, click 'Create Match' again to create the Match Competition & wait for other remote players to join. Once another player has entered the created competition, the host can start the competition.

Once the competition has begun, participating players will be notified on screen. Players can join competitions that have already begun.



During an active competition, players will be able to navigate to the competitions page and check the current standings of the competition.



When the competition has ended, Players will be able to see a scoreboard of all participating players and their positions.



[h2]NEVER MISS A CATCH[/h2]
Players who have been idle for more than five minutes without catching anything will now receive a hint on the whereabouts of nearby popular fish and their most preferred bait. This feature can be turned on or off at any time to suit your play style.

• 'Time Remaining: 0h 0m' message is sent repeatedly to the local user in the activity feed has now been fixed

Patch 1.7.5 is now live on all platforms! Visit the South Africa Reserve to catch three new Legendaries and shop all-new souvenirs, embrace the millionaire lifestyle with items from the prestigious Golden Hook Collection, and try out the new Auto Jigging and Twitching Toggle feature.

Make your way to the South Africa Souvenir Shop for a fresh batch of new cosmetics and pre-historic apparel!

Three new Legendary fish species have been spotted in the South Africa Reserve. Make sure to bring your best gear and prepare for some challenging, yet rewarding fights.

The new Legendaries are:

[h2]NEW FEATURE: AUTO JIGGING & TWITCHING TOGGLE[/h2]
We have listened to the overwhelming community feedback asking for an Auto Jigging & Twitching Toggle, and are happy to announce it’s part of patch 1.7.5! Try it for yourself by going to Options -> Accessibility in the OPTIONS area.

[h2]DOUBLE XP EVENT[/h2]
Double XP returns in Patch 1.7.5! This event will be available from July 17-23, so don’t wait to jump in.

• Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash if a player water immediately after unequipping certain items.

• Players will now be able to rebind any key or button and will no longer see "Conflicting Actions" when attempting to save re-bindings
  

[h3]UI[/h3]

• Downloadable Content Links will now work on the PS4.
  
• Players will now be able to change the hook attached to their fishing rig even if the current bait attached is not compatible with the new hook
  
• Fixed an issue that while assembling a fishing rig, the different components were inconsistently highlighted.
  
• Equipping a rod part will now take the take the player to the next section in the rod assembler
  
• Added UI prompts for Equip/Stow key functionality that was added in 1.7.0
  
• Fixed an issue where the Legendary fish 'active' message would not appear in the activity feed when the player joins a reserve through the Apex Connect 'join a friend' option.

• Cache for Nokkensjoen Cache Challenge 6 will no longer spawn beneath the rocks.
  
• Boat will now spawn closer to thejetty at Frikkie's Spot.

• Fixed an instances of missing patches of water throughout South Africa and Golden Ridge Reserve
  
• Updated the UI to include many new Thumbnails.
  
• Fixed an issue on where on some consoles, glass such as the door of the Taylor tackles shop, lanterns, sunglasses & car headlights were flickering

• We’ve better aligned the Camera for the Wels Catfish Reward Screen. This should allow players to better view their catch on the RewardScreen.

Also launching today is the free 1.7.0 update, adding new fish species, including the Wels Catfish, and new mechanics like bait throwing and bait catapulting.

[h2]FEATURES & QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS[/h2]

With Bait Feeding, you can now throw bait into water by hand and a catapult. This will create a 'baited area' that will attract many fish.


We’ve added four new fish to The Angler in this update!

We’re always keen to help you expand your fishing experience and with this update we’re adding the White Crappie, Rock Bass and Freshwater Drum to GRR and the monstrous Wels Catfish to Spain.

We know how much you have been asking for the Wels Catfish ever since the release of Aguas Claras, our Spanish Reserve and we can’t wait to see you catch one!


We will have a Double Tokens Event running from 19th to the 23rd of June. Make sure you don’t miss out!
