Mictecah

And here we have the fearsome Mictecah, a being that wanders through Mictlan.
When the time comes and you must descend to the kingdom of Mictlantecuhtli, you will still have to walk carefully, as you may find a Mictecah… and it is not just another dead person, but a being that lives in these environments.
You’ll have to be careful, because it’s tough and strong; and acts agily, quickly or stealthily, before you become its lunch.
What do you think about this being?

Huastec

To advance in rank in the army, you have to achieve feats, even if they’re bloody...

Today, we enthusiastically show you this WIP of a Cuextecatl warrior, better known as Huastec, as it is portrayed in the Codex Mendoza.
In the chain of command of the Mexica army, just over the tlamanih, there were the Cuaxtecatl warriors, which were soldiers that captured two enemies in battle.
This rank was introduced in the army after the military campaign against the Huastecs by the Tlatoani Ahuitzotl. Warriors wore a distinctive uniform, composed of a red suit called lahuitztli, sandals and a conical hat.

Cihuacoatl: a concept art

The All-mother, the Snake Woman, and the demon of terrible omens, are some of the names associated with the famous goddess Cihuacoatl, or Tonantzin.

Ancient myths describe her as an elusive woman, with her face painted red, wearing an eagle feather headdress and gold earrings.
A dual symbol of the origin of life, maternity and care, but also of war, sacrifice and death. A beautiful embodiment of the neverending cycle between life and death.

It's believed that she used the bones Quetzalcoatl brought back from the underworld in order to create life; she was the first being to ever give birth and has warned her children of the coming of the Spaniards during Moteccuzoma's reign.

Her nightly weeping along the streets warned the citizens of tragedies and catastrophes to come. After all, there is nothing a mother wouldn't do for her children.

What else is there to say about the WIP of this deity? Coming from the artist Sergio (aka "Perro Negro").
