Age of Darkness: Final Stand - Patch v0.3.1


Dear Protectors of the Light,

We hope you all had a wonderful New Year and we have loved seeing you all continue to post on Discord during the Holidays. Now, with the New Year comes what you’ve all been waiting for…. New Updates!

We have an exciting upcoming Content Update releasing at the end of this month that will be launching a lot at you, however until then, we have a Patch Update to kick off the new year!

In our V0.3.1 Update, we’ve made a few Quality of Life improvements and fixed some bugs that had been hanging around for a while now!

[h3]Improvements[/h3]
  • Stopping the construction menu from snapping back to the main Keep menu when an Upgrade completes.
  • Hazy Skies has been reduced to 25% and now affects all Towers, Ballista Towers and Grand Bellow.


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where the Eyesight Skill does not affect Archers in Towers.
  • Fixed an issue where difficulty icons could appear on the Impaler control menu.
  • Fixed an issue where the Impaler is able to be built without the required research.
  • Fixed an issue for the missing UI displayed on the Siege Factory information hoverbox.
  • Fixed an issue where the Player is able to stack Treasuries.
  • Fixed missing Localisation in multiple languages for the Trade Bazaar description in the Tutorial Menu.
  • Fixed missing Localisation in multiple languages for Tax Earnings.


[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
  • Game will crash when the player tries to build Walls while their Houses have a Debuff placed on them due to a Loan, a fix for this is already in testing for our next Patch.


Where possible please ensure all drivers are updated to ensure the best and smoothest performance.

A Special Announcement from the Age of Darkness Dev Team

Dear Protectors of the Light,

On behalf of the entire development team, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank our community for all your incredible support since the Early Access launch of Age of Darkness: Final Stand.

It’s been amazing to see all the engagement on both Steam and Discord, with the team actively looking at new and emerging strategies players make in their runs. Because of that we wanted to share some player stats from the last two months with you all.

This data represents a small subset of our community, only those who have opted in to share their gameplay data and analytics all in the name of faithfully defending their land against the Nightmares:



Since launch the team has been working tirelessly to make sure you have as stable of a gameplay experience as possible, having done nine patches, with two of those being major Content Updates. Reflecting back on this effort our team will be taking a well deserved holiday break, so for the next 3 weeks you won’t see any new patches or updates, along with us being a bit quieter on our socials.

However we love staying connected with our players so as always, please continue to post your thoughts and feedback on the latest update on Discord and Steam Forums! Although we may not respond as quickly, we will still be lurking in the background reading your posts and listening to your feedback, with a standby team in place, should we find everyone’s Keeps on fire.

However I’m sure you’re all excited for what the New Year will bring, as are we! We’re very eager for what’s to come! In January we will have a juicy new Patch Update to address Quality of Life improvements and Bug Fixes along with a new Content Update later in the month.. In the New Year we will add more Languages for Localisation to make the game even more accessible to all players.

The wheels are still turning in the background for our Campaign and Multiplayer, as we know how hungry you all are for these new gameplay modes! We’ll be teasing what we're working on throughout next year as we continue on our path out of Early Access.

Speaking of, here’s a little holiday present for you before we disappear.



We are immensely proud of the game we have created and how well it has been received, we hope you continue along with us on this journey and help us stop the Darkness from creeping in.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand - Update v0.3.0

Dear Protectors of the Light,

We’re happy to bring you our latest Content Update!

This is our last Update before the holiday period and we wanted to make sure we were able to release some tasty treats for you. With our V0.3.0 Update you can look forward to a New Nightmare, a New Building, New Malices and Blessings along with a host of Quality of Life improvements.

We’ve got work scheduled out for the next year looking to deliver on a host of new Patches, Content Updates and eventually Campaign and Multiplayer.

While we’ll be on break until early next year, we will have a team of people on standby and checking in periodically. So as always please continue to report bugs to our Steam forums or in the bug reporting channel on our Discord, as we’re constantly monitoring those channels.

[h3]Improvements[/h3]
  • Added in a brand new Nightmare, The Burster.
  • Added in a new Building, the Treasury.
  • Added in the new Catalysing Injuries Malice, an area of effect malice that can damage your units and surrounding buildings when the Nightmares destroy your defenses.
  • Added in the new Rigged Defenses Blessing, an area of effect blessing that can damage enemy Nightmares as they destroy your defenses.
  • Added new iconography to the Mini-Map. Players will now be able to see their Hero location, Points of Interest, Elite Enemies and discovered Crystals at all times.
  • Increased the range and damage-per-second of Grand Bellow Towers.
  • Treasuries, Trade Bazaars and Storehouses will now correctly display what they are buffing above the surrounding buildings.
  • All negative values in-game (costs, negative gold, villager count etc) now display in Red to indicate it is a negative value clearer.


[h3]Crashes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where the game could crash on placement of the Fishing Lodge.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would crash if pressing F10 when loading into the game.


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue Dark Essence would display the Food Icon in the Resource Grid.
  • Fixed an issue where the Daybreak Blessing wouldn’t work under some conditions.
  • Fixed an issue with the Trade Bazaar not displaying the correct sell amounts for resources.
  • Fixed an issue where the Rally Point flag wouldn’t show when the game was paused.
  • Fixed an issue where certain Skill Tree items would not correctly display the percentage chance.
  • Fixed an issue where attack speed could be displayed in the negative when using Queen’s Rage and certain Skill Tree Skills.
  • Fixed an issue with the Booster Skill not working correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Mini-Map could display undiscovered Points of Interest there as you load into the game.
  • Fixed an issue with the Heroless Hardship appearing on the End of Game Screen regardless of if it is active or not.
  • Fixed an issue with the Nightmare Difficulty not displaying in red on the Save Game Screen.
  • Fixed an issue with the player being able to Tab between Crystals after discovering one.
  • Fixed an issue with Edwin’s health being displayed incorrectly.
  • Various Localisation fixes for the Fishing Port, Trade Bazaar and Treasury.
  • Various UI bug fixes.


[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
  • We’re aware of an issue where in some cases the player can increase the Death Night Counter on the Final Night to 4 Billion Enemies when placing houses in areas illuminated by new Fire Sconces during Final Stand. This has only been found to occur on Development builds.

The Treasury


Dear Protectors of the light,

Today we’re talking about the most interesting of subjects: financing a growing empire! How does one gain a large amount of gold in a short amount of time? With a loan from your local Treasury of course!
Let’s take a look at how you can use bureaucracy to increase your revenue and start raking in that sweet, sweet gold…

[h2]Passive Income[/h2]
As most financial advisors, bankers, and thieves know, the best way to make money is to just take it from others (not legal advice), so if you place the Treasury in a well populated housing district, each of the surrounding houses will give you more income than usual. The Treasury provides a valuable service to your settlement by keeping its citizens gold (mostly) safe, and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise!



[h2]Risky Investments[/h2]
Another important part of being a financial powerhouse is the giving and repaying of loans. With the Treasury, you are now able to take out loans of all sizes, starting with a small loan of 500 Gold. This must be repaid in full (plus 10% interest of course) within a set time or you risk defaulting, which will reduce the income of houses surrounding the Treasury until you manage to pull together the funds to repay. So make sure you weigh the risks before taking the reward!

Meet the Bursters

Dear Protectors of the Light,

That time has come again where we present that most coveted of gifts to our community, News! This time around we’re pleased to announce that in our next update, coming next week, we’ll be adding a brand-new Nightmare to unleash havoc on your settlements and unceremoniously wreck your s**t.
Read on to find out more about the horrid Bursters…



[h2]Pack Mentality[/h2]

Found roaming in packs all across the map, the Bursters may not initially seem all that nasty. They’re small and relatively slow during the day, but at night they become significantly faster and more aggressive, making them one of the deadliest Nightmares out there.

Oh, and did we mention they explode? When they have a target, the Bursters will pursue it relentlessly until they get close enough at which point their abdomen will glow a lovely green colour and then… BOOM! This explosion will deal massive damage to both units and buildings alike. if only there was a way of preventing this deadly assault…

[h2]Burn Baby Burn[/h2]

The Bursters are particularly weak to any and all types of fire. The cleansing flames will significantly slow down these volatile vermin, meaning they’ll be less likely to reach (and subsequently blow through) your defences. In addition to slowing them down, if a Burster dies while ignited from a fire based attack, they will immediately explode in a great ball of fire, harming any Nightmares unlucky enough to be in the blast radius…
