Zeepkist Awesome Alpha - Version 15, Patch 37

- Broken levels in online will no longer lock your game, and instead boot you to the main menu. I'm looking into catching this on the server-side but for now this will be an improvement already, no more Alt-F4ing :)

Level Contest - Compact
THEME: Compact (7x7x7)
• Build a level that has players racing within the confines of a 7x7x7 wide cube.

  • āš ļø This is the first official contest that requires downloading a template level. Please see section below on how to download it āš ļø

  • Looking for ideas? How about a tiny race track, using all surfaces of the cube with fans or twisty wall rides!
DEADLINE
• Your track should be complete and submitted by Sunday, 24th September 2023 at 18:00 UTC+1

  • Submissions will be combined into a single workshop item after the deadline above
DOWNLOAD 7x7x7 TEMPLATE
• Download the template for the level contest! This provides the outline of the 7x7x7 grid boundries.
  1. Do NOT remove the outline blocks
  2. You CAN NOT place decoration or track pieces outside of the 7x7x7 grid boundary
  3. You CAN paint the outline blocks a different colour
  4. You CAN remove the cube's grass baseplate
  5. You CAN change the skybox (P cycles them, or use track options menu)

[h5]How to get the level in the editor[/h5]
  1. Open %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Zeepkist\Levels in File Explorer
  2. Create a new folder named Compact
  3. Download Compact.zeeplevel into that folder
  4. Load the level in Zeepkist level editor!
  5. Save your level with a new name :)
SUBMISSION RULES
1. You can only submit one level (you can modify or replace your submission as much as you like until the deadline)
  2. Level collaborations are permitted (this counts as a level submission for each individual creator)
  3. The name of the level MUST start with "ZSL - " (e.g "ZSL - My Level")
LEVEL RULES
1. Scaling track pieces is permitted (within the 7x7x7 grid)
  2. Level MUST follow any theme requirements set
  3. Level MUST be under 4000 blocks
  4. Level MUST have an author time above 30 seconds
  5. Level MUST have an author time under 1 minute 30 seconds (90s)
  6. Level MUST have at least 2 checkpoints. Consider adding additional checkpoints for split timing or where it would prevent a cut, as cuts do not make for good tournament tracks!
  7. Level MUST NOT have hidden finishes/shortcuts (e.g using no-collision or invisible blocks to hide a secret path that is NOT the intended route)
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR LEVEL
1. Join our Official Discord server
  2. Upload the level to the Steam Workshop
  3. Link the workshop item in the theme's thread in #level-submissions

Don't have Discord? You can submit your entry by linking it in the Steam forum thread for this announcement!
WINNERS & PRIZES
• Up to 15 of the submitted levels will be used for the next Zeepkist Super League event
  • The community will vote on their favourite maps from the theme after the ZSL event
  • Top 3 in the community votes for Best Decor and Best Track Layout will each win a special hard hat cosmetic in-game. Discord users will also get a `Level Contest Winner` role and 3,000 chat EXP in our Discord server.
BANNER CONTEST
We're also hosting a themed banner contest for our discord server banner image!

The theme is Airtime and ends at the same time as this level contest!! View the banner contest event details on Discord

Zeepkist Awesome Alpha - Version 15, Patch 36

Hey everyone!!

Time for another another patch!!!

This patch is basically the same patch as last time, except back then it broke the server. So I went back in the code, fixed some stuff, enabled better logging, and I hope everything works now!!

āš ļø Beware!! If you have mods installed, online might not work until your mods are updated!! It's probably best to uninstall your mods until then!! Ask on the modding Discord for further info. āš ļø

Anyway, the update! It's quite a big one!
Changelog:
šŸ”ø Added "Steering Limit Keys", which you can use to limit your max steering angle

šŸ”ø Added "Time" and "Input" displays to online photo mode
šŸ”ø Updated the input display with extra info

šŸ”ø Added a "Tag" option to online settings, allows you to add a 4-letter tag to the front of your name, without having to change your Steam name (Blame Ronan for this idea, it caused the update to take a while lol)

šŸ”ø Awarded special influencer hats to 4 influential influencers ā¤ļø
šŸ”ø Awarded special "I helped!" hats to a bunch of people testing the update
šŸ”ø Various small fixes
Happy Zeepkisting!!!
Rollback To Version 15, Patch 34

Hey everyone!!

There were issues with the server in the new patch, so I'm rolling back to patch 34 until I can fix it!!

Sorry for the inconvenience!
