Bases and shelters for a player

Hello detectives!

We continue to work on Outbreak Island, and very soon we will be able to show you the new gameplay. In the meantime, check out the new screenshots of Outbreak Island locations.

Some of these buildings can become your base, where you can hide from the wildlife, craft new equipment or just relax. By the way, there can be more than one base - you can settle down in several key places on the island. It can be an abandoned factory, an old farm or some buildings in the local town. Also in Outbreak Island there will be an opportunity to set up these bases for your own comfort. For example, put solar panels to supply electricity or set traps.

Don't worry, you won't be "tied" to these places - if you want, you can make a halt in the forest or on any other piece of the island. Although it will be far more dangerous for the detective's life...

Don't forget to follow our social media so that you don't miss the development diaries and your chance to ask Outbreak Island developers your questions directly.

The development of Outbreak Island continues and today we want to share new material about the game again.
Shooting Animation

The Science Center on the Island
In the open world of Outbreak Island, you will be able to explore different buildings. For example, there will be residential buildings (a whole city!), warehouses, a military base and even a mysterious church by the cliff. In this devlog we will show you a prototype of the research center buildings.

Development Progress: Water Gameplay

Hello Detectives!

The development of Outbreak Island continues and today we want to share new material about the game again.
New Water
Outbreak Island is an open-world game, but there is not only land, but also water. Not so long ago we updated the physics and the visuals of the ocean that surrounds the island. Now the water surface looks realistic and doesn't cause FPS slumps. Check it out!
Underwater Gameplay
In addition to the land-based gameplay, there will be underwater gameplay in Outbreak Island. Unfortunately, you won't be able to sail far - strange storms don't allow you to just swim away. But you can explore local reefs and collect necessary resources from the wrecked ships nearby. But don't forget about oxygen - unfortunately, our detective is just an ordinary man, not a professional swimmer.

Outbreak Island progress: open world, lighting and performance

Hello, detectives!

We continue to work on Outbreak Island, and today we want to show you the results of our work on the environment, lighting and performance in the open world.

To recap: in Outbreak Island you will have to survive on the island with a total area of 16 square kilometers. The island has a small town, abandoned farms, an old church with an adjacent cemetery (this is one of our favorite locations!), a military base, and beautiful forests, rocky areas and caves.

Let us know in the comments what you think about the current progress of the environment development! And don't forget to subscribe to Outbreak Island social media so you don't miss development diaries and other news from the developers.

What will the open world of Outbreak Island be like?

Hello detectives!

We continue to work on Outbreak Island, and today we want to tell you a little bit about the game’s open world.

As we have already mentioned, you will be surviving on Erlsen Island. The area of the island is about 16 square kilometers. We have chosen this size to avoid large boring spaces. However, we also hope that you will not get crowded on the island and enjoy both beautiful views and long journeys.

Speaking of travel. You can move in the open world not only on foot but also by car. But we will tell you more about this in the next development diaries!

The weather in Outbreak Island will constantly change. Rain, fog, cloud cover or sunny day will help or hinder your survival as a detective.

The time of day changes as well since we're talking about the changes! Imagine sitting in your camp at night with your tent by the fire, traps set around for safety, and a tripod-mounted camera allowing you to follow what's going on from the comfort of your seat. Scary, but atmospheric and even cozy!

Nature in the game is also quite diverse. For example, there are wolves, deer, and even bears on the island. You can hunt them or become a prey yourself.

Don't forget about the Transformed Ones. The former inhabitants of the island have gone mad from a mysterious experiment and now roam the island. They are aggressive, dangerous and know no fatigue. But you can blind them with a camera or fight back with a gun in your hands. Do you have enough ammunition though?
