[h2]The last time you’ve heard from us we’ve mentioned the topic of today’s devlog - the Gods. [/h2]

[h3]We’ve warned you not to underestimate them, provoke them or ignore your religious duties. Today you’ll hear more about the Religion mechanic in our game! 🤩[/h3]



In the old times, Gods ⚡ weren’t just the creators and destroyers of life, they were also its maintainers. People believed that zealous faith and showing the Gods their utmost respect will bring them good fortune 🍀, protection 🛡️, victory on the battlefield and all the good things one could wish for.



[h3]Therefore, you’ll have to follow their example. Build temples and shrines 🛐 near the houses where every now and then you’ll have to offer sacrifices to appease the Gods, win their favors and what’s most important - secure the village from all the dangers ☠️ lurking around every corner.[/h3]



[h3]You can offer the sacrifices during the festivals in the temple. At that time, head priests perform mystical, 🩸 bloody rituals for the glory of the God-Kings of the world. The more sacrifices are offered, the more favorably the Gods will look upon your people.[/h3]



[h2]In your civilization, three Gods tower over all the others:
🌩️ Chac, the God of thunder, water and plants. Keeper of the four directions of the world
🌑 Ixchel, the Goddess of the moon, fertility and destruction
🌌 Itzamna, the God creator, ruler of the skies [/h2]



[h3]At this point you may have asked yourselves… How will you be able to predict which God needed to be given a sacrifice to protect your civilization from a calamity? 🤔[/h3]

[h2]That’s simple! The most talented fortune-tellers worked together and created the calendar 📅 to help you with your religious duties and predict which God needs to be prayed to.[/h2]

[h3]Ancient civilizations also thrived in astronomy. ✨ Their priests could’ve predicted the future using stars! Be it a deposit of a rare, valuable ore, calamity 🌋 or an enemy tribe preparing to attack ⚔️ them, stars held the knowledge about all of that. Will you regain this skill and use it to your advantage while bringing your civilization to prosperity?[/h3]

In this devlog we’ll give you a little insight into one of the most crucial mechanics in the game - building. Choose your structures wisely and create an entirely unique City! 🌇Take care of buildings in many different branches in order to bring your civilization to the heights yet to be seen!



Are the materials what you need make your city thrive, or perhaps new citizens and skilled craftsmen? You can always build a temple for the glory of the gods 🏛️ and hopefuly, your prayers will be listened.



[h2]We all know the El Dorado isn’t a fair place. That’s why we provide you with 3️⃣ different building to house your citizens based on their status 🧍💎[/h2]

1️⃣ Slaves barracks, for your unwilling citizens
2️⃣ Commoners house, home to the backbone of the community
3️⃣ Elites house, place where spiritualized citizens specialized in the divine realm reside





[h3]Don’t forget to gather the resources you need to build the best city in the world and make it happen, make sure you use the unique gathering and production buildings to their fullest! 🪓 ⛏️ 🍴[/h3]

Be it a farm, woodcutter, gatherer’s hut, miners, hunter’s hut or chultune - they’ll all sustain the income of your resources and allow your weavers, tailors, brewers and cooks to change them into quality of life resources your citizens crave.




But no matter whose temple it is, or what resource the building provides you with, always make sure to have a great quality road to lead your fellow citizens to their destination.



The building system in our game is the most crucial aspect for your development. Plan the layout, manage and prioritize both material and human resources to lead your golden city of El Dorado to glory. Make your choice whether risking the wraith of gods is worth sparing life of some people.
