[h3]Ancient Maya world was overflowing with mysticism and the humongous pantheon of gods played a pivotal role in people’s everyday life. 🙏 Those heavenly entities patronized different aspects of life. Through sacrifices and various rituals your people will be able to appease the gods 🙇 and ask for their favors in the atmosphere of mystery and horror. [/h3]


During your adventure in El Dorado, you’ll get to meet the most important and majestic representatives of the godly elites. Let’s visit the godly domain and meet some of its inhabitants! The most important one being none other than Hun Hunahpu- god of corn, the first father, overseer of creation. He was the one who created the pathways for the stars throughout the entire sky, shaping the fate of every person. 🤯 There is also the godly couple Chac Chel and Chac, goddess of weaving and god of thunder and heavy rains. ⚡

The next charismatic couple in the El Dorado world are the god of wisdom Itzamna with his goddess Ix Chel, the patroness of medicine and tokology. 👶 She was the most important goddess when it came to pray for a numerous offspring and healthy life.


During our small trip we couldn’t miss visiting the most prosperous entity, the god of trade Ek Chauj’a. It’s the right target for sacrifices if you strive for success in the business when a foreign caravan arrives in your city. 💰

Successful deal has to be celebrated and what’s a better way to do it if not accompanied by alcohol, good fun, dances, singing and of course, a small war. Those are all the aspects of the famous god Akan, but where there is war, death follows and with death comes the demonic god Cizin. 💀

Finally, there is the crème de la crème, the gigachad among chads, the sun god Kinich Ahau, supreme emperor hovering over the world. ☀️

Let’s not disturb the peace of this place any longer and end this short trip. Now you’re familiar with the gods and their aspects. Use this knowledge to your advantage and get ahead of your enemies with timely and most importantly, propper sacrifices and rituals to claim the gods’ favors. 👍

[h3]Last time, we’ve been talking about food production, 🌽 the core of each successful civilization. This time, we’d like to go one step further and take a closer look at Ancient Maya diet. 🔍[/h3]


If you’ve imagined their diet as plain, boring and repeatable we’d like to clear this misunderstanding. It was a varied diet full of fruits 🍌, veggies 🥔 and different kinds of meat. 🍖 Their everyday meals were rich in different flavors and that particular quality was able to satisfy even the most picky eaters.


A well-fed man is a happy one. In order to keep your citizens happy 😀 and willing to work 💪 you’ll have to provide your community with enough food. During your gameplay in El Dorado many different buildings associated with food production will be available. Some of them specialize in the preparation of raw ingredients while others prepare the meals. 📝

One of such buildings is the bakery in which the Waaj bread is prepared. This building also has another, even more important task. It prepares the corn flour, an ingredient used for many purposes such as preparing thick, rich sauces or stuffed pies called Tamales. 🧑‍🍳


[h3]The culinary heart of the city is undoubtedly the kitchen in which many dishes are prepared and seasoned with hot spices. 🌶️ The food is cooked in various ways: grilled, stewed or fried on stones.[/h3]


[h3]Can there be a good meal without an equally tasty beverage? 🤔 [/h3]

One of the most basic but still delicious drinks your society enjoys is Ah- TOH- lay, a sweet corn drink. During your playthrough you’ll have an opportunity to prepare even more exclusive drinks such as Kakawal- a hot chocolate 🍫 or Balche, an alcoholic drink.

In this devlog, we’d like to slow things down and take a closer look at what lays at the very base of each successful civilization- the food. 🌽 In our game, players will have an option to build various objects focusing on food production.


Before any kind of plants can be sown, the ground needs to be prepared. Once this step is taken care of, you can start cultivating your first veggies! 🤩 One of the key parts of your citizens everyday diet is corn. One of the multiple purposes you can use it for is to make corn flour and turn it into a beautiful, tasty cornbread. 🍞 To diversify your diet you may consider planting some beans or tomatoes which can later become a mouth-watering stew. 🤤


[h3]On top of that, you’ll be able to start planting cacao trees and chili peppers 🌶️ two main components to prepare their ceremonial bitter spicy hot chocolate which was said to give strength to the brave warriors and wisdom to the emperors.[/h3]


Speaking of mystical potions, you may consider building some beehives for wild bees 🐝. Their delicious honey is one of the ingredients the shaman mentioned for a medicine. Maybe you should pay him a visit and find out more details? 🤔

[h3]Every now and then your people would love to have some juicy meat to go with their meals. A poultry farm is most definitely a good thing to have. Turkeys, ducks… they’ll undoubtedly become a great source of proteins! 🦃[/h3]
