Depersonalization is available now! Investigator, time to roll the dice

Hello investigaters! After such a looooong time wait. Depersonalization is released in Early Access now!

btw, the launch-discount will end on Jan. 5th, same as the last day of Winter Sale.

And about our subsequent updates plan, we'd like to share with you.

  • [h3]Q: how long will this game be in Early Access?​[/h3]
    A: We plan to keep the game in Early Access for about a year. We prepare the entire year as the development time for the official version. So in our plan, our game will launch in the end of 2023.
    But there’s something we need to say. We’re ambitious to keeping updating this game. So we will keep adding new contents after launching.


  • [h3]Q: How many modules will there be in the official version?​[/h3]
    A: After launching, our focus will turn into editor’s development, but we’ll still be reaching out to some best creators in the community to develop some custom modules.
    At our speed of development, a module always takes 2 months to create regardless of testing time, so we plan to add no more than 3 new modules at most.
    So in a short conclusion, with the number of modules in the EA version, the final official version will have 7 modules + a combat module.​


  • [h3]Q: What else can we get before the official version?​[/h3]
    A:​
    1. We plan to update a new combat module with some rogue elements in the second quarter of 2023.
    Because the contents of the story module will be consumed too quickly, we have an plan for a rogue combat module a long time ago. So we will prepare a combat module specifically for investigators (Afogomorn wants to overthrow the tyranny of Tavel, so start collecting space-time points with Anan~).

    2. Maybe the Text Module will launch sooner than others.
    If there are no problems with our team's development plan, the Workshop content will gradually be available for testing. We will start with the simplest features of editing such as text module.
    We’re sure there are many great content creators in the community, so if we can, we'll host some events about essay competitions and we’re very glad to see your stories!


  • [h3]Q: When will the Workshop available?​[/h3]
    A:​
    This is a staged and ongoing process. We have set ourselves the goal of developing the in-game editor function within 2023, which will lower the creative barrier and allow creators in the COC community to get a better start.
    It is worth stating that while the current contents has considered the difficulty of getting started with editor. However, as for the art assets, it requires us to be able to build a complete library of materials, which is a major hurdle for us in the future.​


  • [h3]Q: When will the AI for Yog-Sothoth be ready?​[/h3]
    A:​
    When it comes to this question, actually we’re also very anxious. We have researched and tried many mature AI on the market, such as Google, Microsoft, Tencent, Baidu, Ali and iflytek, as well as many open source chat AI.
    The price of a good commercial project is currently beyond our reach, and the main problem with open source AI is still the uncontrollable contents. After all, there was a very intelligent AI that led to the entire development team being implicated because it was imbued with anti-human text content (all AI learning-enabled chatbots basically need to be able to filter this information).
    We also made many research about ChanGPT. But we need to build our own server if we want all domestic and international players to use it. But all of us don’t have the knowledge about server as well as a R&D bill to keep the server running, or enough people to learn and handle this piece of work.​

Depersonalization will arrive on Dec. 20th in Early Access

Hello investigaters! After such a looooong time wait!

Hi everyone, thank you for your long-time waiting!

We’re thrilled to announce that Depersonalization will arrive on December 20 in Early Access!!

Compared to the Demo, the EA version will have lots of new systems and content optimization. To enrich the freedom of players, you can trade with them, steal or even attack them directly! (Yog-Sothoth: Fight me huh?)


The AI Teammate System is much complete now. In adventures, some actions can be performed by teammates. (Saye: No! I won’t go. Don’t let me go-------)


Besides, because of the Great Sucess of 1d100, we also adds some new functions and systems such as Backpack Sharing, Module Calculating, Interlude Stories, etc.


One important thing, we will continue to adjust and optimize the game from every aspects after the game launched. More story modules also will be added into the game in the future!!

  • Q: Is this update only one mod?
    A: Yes,this new version focuses on testing new gameplay and new system,so currently only the first half of Lies and Fraud has been disclosed.

  • Q:This time the plot is too short,it’s not enough for me to play,and it feels no different from the first version.
    A:The content of the Lies and Fraud mod this time only accounts for about 30-40% of the full version,and the follow-up content is under development,please be patient.

  • Q:Some buttons and interactions are still very unpleasant/I don’t understand the check interface/It’s weird to click the F back and forth/The shortcut keys are much weirder.
    A:Because we remake the system and UI,but they still in the improving stage,and the current production team has no time to make game teaching guide, So it is normal for some players to feel weird, we will solve this problem before EA.

  • Q:Some battle is not clear,and I am not sure when is the right time to perform check.
    A:The battle system is basically remake compared to the last test version, and the production team is also working hard to improve it. In addition, there is no time to make game teaching guides before the release test, so please wait patiently for the improving and optimization of the battle in the future.

  • Q:What’s the useage of interlude?
    A:Text mod experience, even if you die, you will not tear the card. You can get new characteristics after clearing the level normally. Currently, the number of entries is not displayed. You can always use a card for repeated experience. As a new system of Depersonalization, we hope it will be able to promote the interlude as a crowd-creation tool to players in the future, so that everyone can create their own text groups in Depersonalization.

  • Q:The usage of many skills/items is different from the previous version
    A:Our skills/items system has also been remade

  • Q: Yog-Sothoth became the AI,please give me back the Yog-Sothoth can talk to me.
    A: A series of issues caused by the previous AI will affect or even hinder the launch of the mobile phone of Depersonalization, so we have replaced another brand-new AI. At present, many questions cannot be answered by Yog-Sothoth,because the production team has not yet configured the relevant keyword answers. We will improve the configuration of this section in the future.

  • Q: Why isn't the mobile terminal/Mac updated/adapted to the controller?

    A: Due to limited time, each update version needs half a month of production, so we can only rush to update the PC side first, and the Mac is under expedited testing. Due to performance optimization/operation/ UI issues are still being improved, and may not be updated in a short time, and the controller adaptation will be updated in a later stage.

  • Q:How can I equip weapons?
    A: Using the right mouse button

  • Q:How to save game?
    A:There is a save button in the lower right corner of the interface (just next to the menu button), and the shortcut key L can also be used directly.

  • Q: I can't give my teammates anything now, I can't use items for my teammates either, and my teammates can't help me perform check.
    A:Because of the limited energy and time, we have only made the function of teammates to help you fight , and will add other interactive content depending on the situation.

  • Q: Will there be a workshop/mod creation/multiplayer online in the future?
    A: It is in our plan, but the actual difficulty of making it is a big challenge to us. I can only promise that as long as we can do it, there will be.

  • Q:The voice is too unpleasant, and the electronic sound is very strange
    A: Because the real dubbing will take up a lot of manpower and resources, we can only use the electronic sound commonly used in Replay. If you feel uncomfortable, you can turn off the electronic dialogue sound in the system interface.
