Game patch 1.2.13

Hey folks!

This update fixes a crash and a couple of bugs that people have reported recently.

Version 1.2.13:
- fixed a crash that could occur in some circumstances when remapping controller keys
- fixed the player becoming unable to interact with objects if the player started a melee attack, but interrupted it with a back choke/kill
- fixed being able to perform a back choke while performing a melee attack

Game patch 1.2.12

Hey folks!

This update fixes two crashes that I'm surprised no one has reported before.

Version 1.2.12:
- fixed a crash related to the lighting system
- fixed a crash that occured when adjusting the maximum FPS slider using a controller, when the maximum FPS was unlimited

Game patch 1.2.11

Hey folks!

This update fixes two very serious bugs (which I didn't know how to reproduce for a very long time, and discovered how to just recently), along with a minor problem.

Version 1.2.11:
- fixed being capable of removing objects that shouldn't be removed by using a combination of saving and loading in a particular pattern
- fixed some problems with saving of bullet class/subclass objects, resulting in problems like bullets disappearing after reseting to the previous save state
- fixed some problems with the game not correctly playing the "invalid use" sound when trying to unload weapons that we're on maximum ammo for

700 Steam reviews!

Hey everyone!

Just when I thought we had hit 500 Steam reviews, something even cooler happened - we've crossed the 700 Steam review mark in less than two months since the game hit 500 reviews!
This is awesome. I'm very happy that so many of you have enjoyed the game so much to have left a positive review.

I'd like to again thank the folks who have been actively reporting bugs, testing upcoming update BETA versions when necessary, and contributing to the game in any way, even something as simple as leaving a review. Positive reviews, as insignificant as they may seem, are a big help, and you're doing a big favor to any indie developer by leaving a positive review for a game you like.

This reception is awesome. There's no other way I can put it.
When I was working on Intravenous, I had no clue whether people would like the game or not. All I hoped for is that people would like the game, and from the testers words the game was really cool - which can be deceptive, since what the testers and the actual players think can be two vastly different things.
Once the game was ready for a 1.0 release - it was a leap of faith. You can imagine how worried I was, when I hit the "Release game" button, that a lot of people might not end up liking the game...
I am super glad to see that that my worries were unfounded.

I was going to make a news post about the Steam awards, but frankly I don't expect Intravenous to win any awards (it's not popular enough to gather enough votes!), and I believe that you folks should decide whether to vote for Intravenous or not on your own accord, without any nudging from my part. :D

News on the next big update


Speaking of games you like... in the "What's Next? #5" Steam announcement I stated that Intravenous will get Update 1.3 sometime in January... I might have been wrong about that. It might come sooner, in December, as I'm chewing through things I need to finish up for it's release faster than I anticipated.
It's fun when a developer is ahead of an estimate, eh?

I'll be putting up a BETA test branch for Update 1.3 soon - as I have with the level editor update and the controller support update.
As always, when the time for that comes, I'll greatly appreciate any testing/feedback you guys bring to the table.

Game patch 1.2.10

Hey folks!

This small patch fixes a couple of minor problems.

Version 1.2.10:
- can now navigate comboboxes using left stick when using a gamepad
- fixed one of the death animations not making the enemy body darker
- fixed Desert Eagle being incapable of penetrating kevlar armor
