Welcome Weavers! 👋

It’s been a month since we first revealed our debut game, Eternal Strands, and the response from everyone has been such a joy to witness. We’ve been working on this game for over 4 years now, and your excitement has fueled our passion even further as we continue on the road to our Beta build later this year! 💛

We are thrilled to kick off our very first Developer Update this month, and what better way to start than by shedding some light on the most frequently asked questions from our growing community?



Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)


[h3]Is this game more of an RPG or an action-adventure title?[/h3]
Eternal Strands is a fully-fledged action-adventure title that offers action-packed combat with a storyline, numerous characters, and even some environmental puzzles that will utilize your magical powers. We look forward to telling you more about what we’ve been working on for you all in the coming weeks and months!

[h3]Does the game have a character creator?[/h3]
Players will be embarking on the journey as Brynn, our protagonist, who is supported by a lively cast of characters. While you cannot change Brynn’s face or overall appearance, there are ways to customize her armor and weapons – stay tuned for more details!

[h3]The game footage in previous videos looked buggy/clunky/washed out/not as good as it could be. Why?[/h3]
Please keep in mind that all of the footage we have shown thus far is from our early Alpha build – it only gets better from here as we move into Beta later this year!


[h3]How many weapons can we expect in the game?[/h3]
We have three main weapon types (e.g. sword & shield, bow & arrow, two-handed sword), but there are unique ways to customize all three in terms of stats and magic that is infused. Stay tuned for more information on this!

[h3]Is this an open-world game?[/h3]
While we have a few biomes within Eternal Strands, we would not classify the game as “open world,” but rather “open zone.” There are some interconnected areas, but by and large, these biomes have limitations in when you can access them defined by your progression through the story.

[h3]Is this a strand-type game?[/h3]
While we love Death Stranding and cannot wait for the sequel, we are not a strand-type game! 😅😶

More seriously, the name Eternal Strands is linked to a number of things from our game: from Brynn’s Mantle that has magical strands woven into it, to the threads that bond our cast of characters together. We hope that you have fun discovering the meaning when you get to play the game yourself!



[h3]Will there be a mount or other ways of traversal?[/h3]
No mounts or gliders – however, you can find ways to creatively get across the world in speed and style with some of the powers! 😉

[h3]Can you tell us more about crafting?[/h3]
We’re really excited to share more about our crafting system for Eternal Strands, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to hear more! But yes, there is crafting. 😊

[h3]Will there be an AI party that supports you in combat?[/h3]
While Brynn will be fighting minions and giant enemies alone in the field, our cast of characters will still be able to comment on what she is doing in other ways. Stay tuned for more information!


[h3]Can you tell us more about the story - will there be big branching narrative choices?[/h3]
The story of Eternal Strands offers ways to build bonds and friendships with our rich cast of characters through dialogue choices. While the game itself does not have difficult moral choices that will sprawl out into multiple endings, or a giant social link system seen in games like Persona, you can still expect to see these dialogue choices impact Brynn’s personality and the way characters interact with her. We’re very eager to share more about our characters and their in-game interactions in the coming months, so stay tuned!



[h3]What can you tell us about Brynn, the protagonist?[/h3]
Brynn is a badass treasure hunter and adrenaline junkie. She alone is responsible for diving headfirst into danger, and coming back with lost artifacts or treasure. Her expeditions are the driving force behind what her travelling companions are able to discover about the Enclave.

She is the embodiment of the idea that “it’s cool to care,” and being unabashedly passionate about whatever it is you’re into. We can’t wait for players to meet her!

[h3]Is there a dog we can pet?[/h3]
No dogs, but you can pet Arva. Who is Arva? You’ll have to find out! 😊

[h3]Who is going to be composing the music?[/h3]
None other than legendary composer Austin Wintory, known for his work on projects like Journey, Stray Gods, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate! 🎵💛


[h3]I’m a content creator - can I collaborate with the dev team or get a key to play the game?[/h3]
We’re working on something very special for our content creators that we’ll be announcing in June – keep your eyes peeled! 💛

[h3]Will there be a public demo?[/h3]
We have nothing firm we can announce at this time, but we encourage you to follow our channels to stay tuned for more information as we have it!


[h3]When are we getting more information about the game?[/h3]
This summer, we are taking part in Future Games Show on June 8th where we will be revealing new details about the gameplay and story of Eternal Strands. We can’t wait to hear your thoughts!



[h3]What system(s) will the game be releasing on?[/h3]
PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S!

[h3]Are there any plans to release Eternal Strands physically?[/h3]
At this time, no plans – but we will absolutely update everyone if this changes!

[h3]Is there a time machine we can borrow until launch?[/h3]
We’re working on one, but sadly most of our dev time is dedicated to working on the game. 😉

Ex-Dragon Age director reveals his new epic fantasy game

There's something genuinely great about looking at a gigantic monster lumbering toward you in the distance and thinking, "I am going to climb that thing and stab it in the head." A new indie "supergroup" studio, Yellow Brick Games, has just revealed Eternal Strands, and it looks like it's going to be an exciting blend of big ideas drawn from games like Monster Hunter, Shadow of the Colossus, and Dragon's Dogma 2.
