Last week we were happy to announce the AskTheDev Youtubers Life 2 Edition where you sent us your questions about the development of Youtubers Life 2. Now, the dev team has answered some of the most frequently asked questions!

[h3]Why did you decide to make Youtubers Life 2?[/h3]

"After releasing Youtubers Life 1, we noticed there were a lot of players enjoying this experience, and asking for more mechanics and options for the game. After going through a long development, you know, that's quite heartening!

For a few years, we were adding new content according to the community's feedback, but there was a point when we wanted to implement new ideas that required a different game basis. Many players asked for more social features, which led us to build a city with peculiar characters to interact with. These technical changes required starting a new project, which has been also used to offer a different experience from the first title, thus incorporating new concepts such as customization, friendships, socials, channels, or trends.

We love the first title! Youtubers Life 1 has brought great concepts to how we create games, and after 5 years, we are still learning from all the experiences gathered together with the community.

[h3]How did you come up with the characters in Youtubers Life 2?[/h3]

"Creating a character, their personalities, and personal stories, was one of the most fun things during the development! We are not just fans of everything related to Youtubers, but also big lovers of films, comics, series, and fantasy! We wanted to create characters with strong personalities and unique stories and designs, inspired by those well-known references that many Youtubers may recognize.

That's why you may identify some characters just like Gigi who was inspired by the malicious Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, or you may recall Zane as the king of Atlantis, Aquaman! We also created Dorian inspired by Klauss, from The Umbrella Academy, 'cause we love that character! Also, Arrou may have some similarities with Green Arrow, 'cause we also include wanted to include superhero inspirations.

You may even recognize the friendship story of Babamey from that old-school romance on a ship, Titanic, even if she didn't remember it yet, 'cause you know... it's been 84 years! Playing their missions can be just as much fun as it was for us to develop them... you may find some fascinating Easter eggs from different dimensions!

And not only the characters and their stories, but also many items around the city show that kind of inspiration to immerse you in the experience! Have you seen that peculiar board game from Geektopia? It may ring a bell if you saw Jumanji! Did you see that the function of the Er-Brainlyzer is inspired by the Men in Black's memory eraser?

There are so many references around you, and we would never end if we tell you all of them! We hope you enjoy them and make your way as an emerging Youtuber even more fun!"

"We launched Youtubers Life 1 5 years ago, and the idea of becoming a Youtuber has been evolving and growing until now. And you know, we didn't want to just make the same game but better, but rather incorporate new concepts to offer an up-to-date point of view on being a Youtuber. New social channels have appeared, and other channels have also become more relevant for every influencer, so we had to study carefully what was new, what changed, and what we should focus on.

Youtubers Life 1 offers a Tycoon and Strategic approach to being an influencer, where everything is more focused as a straight line. On the other hand, Youtubers Life 2 presents a broader world, with more freedom and where you decide how to use your time to explore and grow your channel.

Nowadays, trends are constantly changing, so the best way to get more likes and gain followers stands by this concept. You know, there is no magic formula to succeed, so all prior research may help you decide what you want to do next, and that's quite the challenge about being a Youtuber.

[h3]Why can’t we change our avatar's appearance again?[/h3]

"There are different options in Youtubers Life 2 to customize your avatar. Some of them might be by the naked eye, but you may need to search a little more and even increase your relationship with special characters to get advanced options and customizations.

It is true that once you create your character and select your body type and skin color, you cannot change them after that, But that's what creating your own special Youtuber avatar is all about, right? We are convinced that customizing your own avatar in extremely crazy ways, can be much more fun and unique for every Youtuber. Otherwise, your fans won't recognize you!

You can easily change your clothes, including masks, dresses, cosplays, headphones, glasses, piercings, and more in your Dressing Room through your mobile app or by accessing your wardrobe at your home. You can spend some coins to buy new outfits in different places like Kiwi Clothes Store, Gianni Clothes Boutique, or Slater Surf, or even get new sets through side missions.

If you want to give your avatar a completely new fresh look, you may need to visit the Lafayette Hair Salon. His hairdressing is amazing, and you didn't recognize yourself in the mirror! You can also access the shop at the desk to buy new options, including also beards, piercings, and even tattoos.

But that's not all! Did you see the secret door at Lafayette's? If you build a good friendship with him, he may allow you access there, thus adding physical customization options such as facial features, or even eyes or mouth enhancements, just in case you were interested in a cool facial lifting.

We hope that all these options allow you to customize your avatar in so many ways, so you can surprise your followers and even introduce new styles! We really love to see players sharing their avatars on social media and see how creative they are."

"We are so happy that you are enjoying the game! Youtubers Life 2 has several references from films, literature, and comics, which will help make your daily life more fun in NewTube City.

Gigi Maccarone is a character inspired by Cruella de Vil, thus making her the perfect option to bring organized crime back to NewTube City. Since the gaming industry is one of the most important things in the city, manipulating gaming tournaments for her personal profit was a clear idea.

On the other hand, we have Suzy, the Spicy Ren Chinese restaurant's old chief who is not very familiar with video games yet. Suzy is quite similar to Gigi, since both are very persistent and they won't stop until reaching their goals. In a world ruled by young people, Suzy also wants to have her personal spot and be part of it. Her story brings the vision that it is never too late to learn something new, nor too old to pursue new dreams, thus highlighting the importance of taking care of ourselves."

"The development of Youtubers Life 2 was nearly 2 years of work. Not only the development itself, but the analysis of what things had changed nowadays in the world of Youtubers, and how we could improve and make the experience of becoming a Youtuber even more fun.

Each superstar has a unique personality and is surrounded by incredible stories that they always bring to their channel to engage their fans, and that's how that extreme stuff is born and they become more and more trending! We wanted to give players that same feeling, that everything could happen in NewTube City, and we merged our passion for literature, comics, and films with it to create a city full of unique stories and a wide variety of different personalities, thus giving players more options to create unique content, and anecdotes that will motivate them to record for their next video on the channel."

While developing YL2, we did it with one goal in mind: that players could feel the experience of becoming real Youtubers in a city created to meet their dreams. Now that we have just launched the game, we are focused on analyzing all the feedback that we've received, thus working on some updates to improve the final experience even more.

The idea of ​​being a Youtuber evolves over time, and that's also what would like to represent in Youtubers Life 2, so we keep working on it and studying the community's feedback to know what else we could include to boost that goal.

Although it is still too soon to specify what new content we could include in the future, what we can say now is that Youtubers Life 2 has a long road ahead, and we are working on a roadmap of contents focused on improving your experience as a true Youtuber. We have lots of plans for Youtubers Life franchise, but none of them has been fully landed yet. Right now we want to focus on improving Youtubers Life 2, while we keep working on the future of the Franchise.

"This is one of the most frequently asked questions, and we couldn't help but come up with a more detailed answer for you!

As you probably know, the first title in the franchise was released on all platforms, including mobile, some time after its PC release. This usually happens because other platforms require different development processes, additional time, and careful considerations of whether the game would fit on that platform.

Launching Youtubers Life 2 on mobile is something that we'd love to do too, but there are several factors we are still studying internally to see how we could adapt the game to its mobile version. Right now, all our efforts are focused on improving the Youtubers Life 2 experience for all our players on PC and Consoles, and we hope we can also bring this great experience to our mobile players in the future."

[h3]Become the best Youtuber and the Hero of NewTube City![/h3]
Enjoy your way as an emerging Youtuber and become a legend is the main objective of Youtubers Life 2. Not only will you be able to gain millions of subscribers on your channel, but also become the hero of NewTube City!

All these main quests aim to this objective, so don't forget to keep progressing through them to reach fame! Here is everything you need to know before starting your journey:

• Main quests show up in the first tab of your Journal, so it will be the first thing you will see as a quest in Youtubers Life 2. To unlock new main quests, you may need to complete the current ones.
  
• Each quest shows a description, an objective, and a reward. The description has relevant info about what you should do or what you should pick up to complete the mission. The objective reveals the requirements you must meet to complete the quest, such as the position of the NewTube ranking you should reach.
  
• Once you choose the quests you want to focus on, you can pin them up to track them on the right-bottom side of your screen while exploring the city. This allows you to quickly access the quest info whenever and wherever you want. Choose wisely, 'cause you can only undertake 3 missions, no matter the kind, at the same time.
• Some missions may require you to grow your channel, reach a higher position on the ranking, or solve a dangerous hacking in NewTube City, but all this is meant to reach the glorious fame you deserve.
• After completing a specific main quest, your next target to become the best Youtuber will be unlocked and automatically pinned, so you won't lose track of the grand finale.

No one will be able to stop you after completing the main story and becoming the best Youtuber in the world. But, if you want to keep enjoying the experience, there are also secondary missions and secret features you can discover, so let's check what else you can do as a Youtuber!




[h2]Side Quests[/h2]
[h3]Know everything about the game features and get succulent prizes![/h3]
There are a ton of things that you can do as a Youtuber in NewTube City, and it may be a bit overwhelming sometimes... that's why there are other quests that are not directly focused on the main objective, but they aim to help you make the most of your adventure to fame.

Here are the key tips to master your side quests:

• You will receive side quests while progressing in the game, and they will appear in the second tab of your Journal. As for main quests, you can pin the one you prefer to quickly access the info at any time.
  
• These quests also have a description that indicates the reason for the quest, and an objective that sums up what you need to do to complete it.
• To unlock additional side quests, you may need to complete another one before it. For example, to go through the "Upgrade your drone with Streaming" quest, you need to finish the first "Developer Day" quest from Spring 15 onwards.
  
• You will learn more about drone upgrades, customization, how to improve your recordings, and other activities you can do in your home or out there. You may also get worthy prizes, such as a trending video game or an exclusive piece of customization, to get unique trends and advantages that will boost your next content.
  
• Real Youtubers like PewDiePie, Crainer, Rubius, LaurenzSide, Inoxtag, Paluten, and more have also a dedicated side quest! Each quest will be automatically unlocked after reaching a specific day, depending on your language settings, so don't lose your chance to meet some of the greatest Youtubers to get exclusive rewards and trends!
  

The more side quests you complete, the more experience you will accumulate as a Youtuber, so take your time to investigate them and use your knowledge to advance on your main quests!




[h2]Commission Quests[/h2]
[h3]Get easy cash to purchase new items and upgrades![/h3]
Ok, we know that money cannot buy happiness, but it does buy that cool new-gen console you always wanted or the Pro Headphones you saw the other day at the store...

Although coins don't grow on trees for Youtubers either, there are plenty of easy tasks you can do to help other citizens for a quick buck. You may need to record a video to promote a certain brand, or just upload a new photo and reach a certain number of likes. All these collaborations will let you earn some savings for that new stuff you desire for your setup, or just to buy an additional upgrade to improve your next video.

This is what you need to do to play your preferred Commission quests:

• First, go to your Commissions App and check the available tasks along with their description and, of course, the juicy reward they are offering. These rewards may be higher as your reputation grows, 'cause you know that big profiles don't have much time... and time is money!
  
• But do not be so greedy! You can just accept and track up to 3 commission quests at once, so choose carefully to decide which one will be your next goldmine.
  
• Once you accept an available commission, it is automatically pushed to the third tab of your Journal app as an active commission quest, so go to your Journal, check out the details one more time if you need it, and pin the quest to track it until its objective!
  
• You may need to upload a new promo photo, record and upload a video, stream a specific product, or deliver a secret package to another citizen. Check out in the description what you need to find and who's asking, just in case you have to visit specific places to find them.
  
• Keep an eye on the objective! Some quests may need to get a minimum number of likes or views along with your content. The more subscribers you have, the more likes and views you will get, so grow your followers first if you need it and complete the task. Some quests may need to be completed within the time limit, so try to finish your quest before the time runs out!
• After completing the commission quest, you will automatically receive the money within your pocket. You know what it is said: do not ask... just take the money and run!

[h2]Friendship Quests[/h2]
[h3]Discover hidden stories and find your soulmate![/h3]

"Do you ever look at someone and wonder, what is going on inside their head?"

We know that Youtuber's personal lives are everything but boring with all those crazy videos, personal gossips, and experiences they live. So, imagine what a City FULL of Youtubers can offer!

Romances, secret fans, mutants, files with sensitive information... will you be able to keep your lips sealed, or will you be tempted to tell it all to your followers?

Anyway, if you want to dive into their personal stories, and get unique rewards on the way, just go to the fourth tab of your Journal and start completing Friendship quests! And, who knows... you may find your soulmate on the way.

However, to learn more about them, you must earn their trust, which means visiting them often, talking to them, sharing photos, giving gifts... thus increasing your friendship level to gain more and more hearts!

So, how can you increase your friendship and go through these quests? Here is what you need to know:

• When you arrive at NewTube City the first time, your neighbors could adopt a detached attitude: they don't even know who you are.... but they will. So start meeting them to say a lovely hello! That's how every good friendship starts.
  
• Once you encounter a relevant citizen you can build a relationship with, you may see two specific icons above their head: The "..." icon means that you can talk to them to increase your relationship that day, and this usually happens once a day, so don't forget to visit those who you are most interested in. The "!" icon shows that they have a friendship quest for you, so go talk to them and receive a new quest to get exclusive prizes and keep accumulating hearts!
  
• Taking some photos or giving them a gift according to their likes may also increase your relationship each day. Do not forget to check their likes, hates, and hobbies on your Contact list app to know more about them!
  
• After receiving your friendship quest, if you don't have 3 tracked quests already, it will be automatically pinned, so you can quickly access the fourth tab in your journal and check all the details and the objective to complete it.
  
• You may discover some hidden stories, receive special rewards for your channel, or even unlock new interactions with them!

Hotfix 1.2.3 for Youtubers Life 2 is live!

In this update, we focused on further improving the overall stability of the game and fixing the most common issues.

We hope that this hotfix improves your gaming experience while we keep working on more future upgrades. You can find the list of changes below:

• Eyes customization options have been improved, offering more eye shapes options and the possibility to select the eye color for the shape you prefer.
  
• Added two new quests to reach the 50th and 25th positions in the ranking, thus helping you to focus on growing your channel to reach the top.
  
• Various new animations that you will find along the city have been added, thus brightening up your adventure even more!
  
• Random lightning on stormy days has been added to improve the climate feeling when exploring the city and recording videos.
  
• The unboxing animation of your drone when you first meet it has been improved, cause you know that first impressions are always the most important!
  
• The Bronze League quest is now split into two quests to improve the game progression as a Youtuber.
  
• NPCs expressions have been revised in your contact list. Don't forget to check out the contacts app to know more about NPC's lifestyles and locations.
  
• The initial cutscene when you arrive at NewTube City has been improved, so you can enjoy the city sights from the very beginning.
  
• The first cutscene that you see when starting a New Game has been improved, thus giving you a hearty welcome to Youtubers Life 2!
  
• Chests shapes have been adjusted to improve the home decoration experience.
  
• Some colors of your home furniture have been revised to let you enjoy your Youtuber's place to the fullest.
  
• The initial home furniture when you first arrive at your place has been revised.
  
• New friendship quest icons have been added.
  
• The new clothes you get are now highlighted in your dressing room, so you don't miss your recent acquisitions anymore!
  
• Clothes are no longer duplicated in your dressing room.
  
• Feedback from the features that improve your energy has been revised.

• Added widescreen compatibility for any aspect ratio.

• Fixed a bug where the game may crash after opening the menu to eat the hamburger during the onboarding.
  
• Fixed a crash that occurred when using a record point in any of the three neighborhoods.
  
• Fixed a bug where the character could wake up on the other side of the wall if the bed was placed on the second floor.
  
• Fixed an issue about the PC fixing quest.
  
• Game's default settings have been adjusted for computers with less than 8GB RAM.
  
• Fixed a bug that displayed wrong textures when wearing a dress.
  
• Fixed a bug where players could move the camera with the directional pad when recording a video.
  
• Fixed a bug that wrongly moved the mouse cursor after selecting the first item of the video game list.
  
• Fixed a bug that prevented tooltips disappear from the conversation after a heart scene in Paluten's quest.
  
• Fixed a bug that prevented players from accessing Er-Tech after the InoxTag's quest.
  
• Fixed a bug from the first Lafayette's quest that revealed the recording point even before changing our look.
  
• Fixed a bug that did not show the captured trends in the scripts selection screen before recording a video.
  
• Fixed a bug that did not enable edition options in the hairdresser's secret room.
  
• Fixed a bug where players could talk to a remote NPC after receiving an item when using a controller.

Your new life as an emerging Youtuber starts with the creation of your NewTube channel, and it reaches its most important stage when you get the first position in this ranking.

First of all, choose your original nickname (you can change it later if you want) and start recording videos to upload them to your channel and keep growing. You can record from your console, computer, or even outside! there are plenty of options to create a VOD for your NewTube channel, so keep an eye on what's trendy that day to choose the best options and gain more subscribers!



Here are different ideas to upload innovative content to your channel:

• Record Commentary videos from your computer. Cause you know, there's no place like home!
  
• Record Gameplays, Tutorials, First Impressions, Speedruns, or Analysis videos from your gaming corner at home. Each script, console, and video game are associated with different trends, and they are evolving constantly, so choose the one that will boost your channel the most!
  
• Record Vlogs or Interviews videos outside on different recording points. Explore the city to find them and complete different daily quests and tasks!
  
• Record Unboxing videos from your Unboxing desk. All you need is a package that you can open and reveal to your fans!

• To get high scores when recording a video, besides the special trends included in your recording, be sure that you have got good reaction cards.
