Publisher Sale (Jan 19-22nd) || Up to 75% OFF
3 YEARS
A little over 3 years ago, I announced publicly that 2 Left Thumbs would be entering the indie game scene as a publisher, helping to bring Dead Estate to Steam! Never could I have guess what a smash hit that game would be.

Using that as a proper jumping off point, I worked hard to find promising new indies in need of some extra support. And as of today, there are 8 released titles in that catalog, with many more to come! It's my greatest privilege to be able to herald these great developers and their games, and to help them reach new audiences.

Unfortunately, due to some conflicting sales dates, Paper Planet is NOT on sale this weekend :(
However, you can still get the game at a discounted rate as a part of several bundles.
PUBLISHER SALE
To celebrate this amazing milestone, the entire 2 Left Thumbs catalog is discounted! Several games are running their deepest ever discounts, while Picayune Dreams is running it's first ever sale!

If you want to REALLY show your support, the Micro-Publisher Mega-Supporter Bundle offers ALL these games together with an additional 25% off!!
BUNDLES
If everything together is a bit much, I understand. There are a variety of bundles being run during this sale, designed to group together games I predict will have overlapping audiences.

Every bundle is a "Complete the bundle" style, meaning even if you own 1+ of the games, you can still buy the bundle for an additional discount without re-purchasing the game(s) you already own!!

Cloud Saves are Live!

Yipee, we've enabled Steam Cloud Saves! Hopefully it doesn't break horribly.

If an existing save doesn't sync to the cloud, just load into it in-game, and toggle "Unlock Everything" on and off, or something else that'll edit the save file. Steam will notice and sync it properly.

We're constantly looking for feedback and bugs - you can either post them here on Steam, or join our Discord for much faster reply times.

We're Back! (Small Update)
WE EMERGE FROM OUR SLUMBER
Hey everyone! We're back from our much-needed vacations and working on the game again! Though we're still revving our engines, we've gotten together a small update with 7 new items for ya.

(A preview of the new items)
Changelog:
- Added Ms Slashy
- Added Tornado
- Added Panic Button
- Added Mysterious Potion
- Added Mysterious Cake
- Added Queen's Scepter
- Added Six Shooter
- Reworked Tyrant's Crown to have normal bullets follow charged bullets more closely
- Increased the homing strength of Lockon Radar
So what's next?
While the pace of development may be a little slower due to Karl and I trying to start our professional lives (we're both in our early twenties), we're planning to re-add a more comprehensive version of the boss dialogue from the demo, add new alternate boss forms that the player can encounter, experiment with adding some form of item rerolling to the game, and squash some of the bug reports that have been building up while we've been on break.

Other things we've been considering but have not made any plans to implement are:
- An endless mode
- Online co-op
- Greater modding support

We can't make any promises for these features due to the uncertain status of our availability and the Unity game engine as a whole, and if they are added it will likely be far into the future, but we would still like to see them implemented if possible.

And of course thank you guys for your continued support of Paper Planet! We never thought the game would go this far when we started it as a hobby project in high school, and we're excited to see what the future holds for us.

Sincerely, Will and Karl

Coldfix r17042

We, the dev team, are very much on vacation, which is why there haven't been any hotfixes or updates in a while. What was a hotfix has cooled off, and is now a coldfix. Enjoy!
Changes
• Updated translations, added Ukrainian.
 • Fixed the Post-run screen item list being skewed.
 • Added slider acceleration to the bullet limit slider for gamepads.
 • Fixed Bullet Limit not being navigable by gamepads.

Steam's SHMUP Fest is here!
A 15% DISCOUNT will be starting in 48 hours!
I wanted to post a quick announcement alongside Steam's SHMUP Fest. Because of Steam's required 30 day "cooldown" between Discounts, we actually could not run a discount that perfectly overlapped the SHMUP Fest. One that starts Wednesday morning is the soonest we could get away with.
Development?
The last few weeks have been tough. Alongside 1000's of other indie developers, the news with Unity's changing policies was a major blindside. Paper Planet is a Unity game. And while the eventual compromises to those policies are much more forgiving, it was a major blow to moral and productivity. A lot of trust in Unity as an indie-friendly engine has completely evaporated...

And while we're still excited about the future of Paper Planet, and have plenty of ideas for how it could be expanded next (including adding the Boss Dialogue system back in - sorry for the wait!!) it may take a bit of time to assess how/when/where exactly that effort will be spent.

Sorry there's not more to share at this time.
I hope you all can understand what a low blow this was, and how crushing it felt to spend 5 years on a game, only to have it's future cast into a dark cloud of uncertainty a few weeks after release...
More SHMUPS?
In the meantime, these 3 games from 2 Left Thumbs are also all taking part in the SHMUP Fest - each of which have big, robust demos that you could put dozens of hours into!
