ℹ️ Few words about Early Access ℹ️

Dear Players,

We would like to give you some key information about the Early Access version.

The most important for us is your opinion, suggestions and feedback. The game is available in Early Access, which means that it is still in development. We really care about your feedback so we can meet your expectations in the full version of the game.
If you decided to support our work, you can leave your feedback on Steam Community Hub or on the dedicated Discord Channel, link below.

πŸ‘‰ SUGGESTION AND FEEDBACK

πŸ‘‰ DISCORD

Without wasting time, a few words about Early Access:

Why Early Access?
I am a solo developer and the community will be able to try new versions and provide critical feedback to develop Horror Tycoon into the best game I can. I also have the publisher Gameparic helping me with all the rest of the stuff so that I can fully focus on creating the game.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
The game will remain in early access until all features are complete and the game is stable and fun to play. The anticipated full release is Q3/Q4 2023.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
• With the full version of the game, I plan to include the following:
 • 20+ Locations (with more added as player feedback is received)
 • Over 50+ Scare attractions
 • Over 50+ FX (Lighting, Special Effects etc)
 • Over 200+ Building pieces (Walls, flooring, fencing, windows, etc)
 • Over 200+ Props (Paintings, sculptures, rugs, spooky decorations, etc)
 • 50+ Hallway / Room pre-designs for easy implementation
 • 10+ Themes (Manor, Graveyard, Hospital/Morgue, Crime Scene, Laboratory, Aliens, Blood/Gore, Bathroom/Shower, DIY, Witches, Creatures and more planned)
 • Multiple Save Slots
 • Steam Achievements
 • Full length soundtrack
 • 10 Language Localization
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
• The current state of the early access includes the following:
 • 2 Locations (Backyard Haunt & The Forest)
 • 16 Scare Attractions
 • 9 FX
 • 45 Building Pieces
 • 34 Props
 • 3 Save Slot
 • English Audio/Subtitles Only.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
Early Access will be given a discount as a thank you for playing and for providing feedback to help shape the direction of Horror Tycoon's development.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
The community is the main reason for making this game and placing it in early access. With the community providing crucial feedback and suggestions will only help to enhance the game and its development moving forward.

We hope that we have explained all the most important assumptions to you, please remember to share your opinion so that we will know what you expect in the full version of the game. If you have any questions, feel free to chat with us on Discord.

See you soon,

DATE REVEAL! πŸ”₯
Dear Players,

After several months of hard work, I can finally announce the launch day of Horror Tycoon in early access! πŸ‘»
The game will be available to play on
OCTOBER 20th, 2022, at 8 am PDT! πŸ”₯

I've been working on creating this video game for over a year... but in some weird way, I've been working on this game since I was a kid building haunted houses in my backyard out of refrigerator boxes I'd take from the appliance store dumpster.

I always wanted to make video games but never had the logical brain to understand code, I just saw numbers and weird punctuation marks and it just looked like nonsense to me. I have always been a visual/audio learner. So I never pursued learning how to code and instead worked on music for the past 25 years.

Growing up I was playing video games like rollercoaster tycoon, sim city, the Sims, cities skylines and then a game came out called Planet Coaster.... Never in a million years would I have imagined that a single video game would have changed my life, and the people on that team changed my life. I became the official U.S. brand ambassador for that game and traveled to a bunch of game conventions where I met some of my game development idols and became inspired all over again and this time I was determined to figure out how to make a video game of my own. Even if it was just for my own entertainment.

About 7 years ago, I started trying every game engine out there but finally I tried the Unreal Engine from Epic Games. I had heard about an interesting way a user could use that engineer to make games. It's called visual scripting/visual programming and things just clicked. It all made sense, well not everything but things were finally starting to make sense. I started teaching myself everything I could with YouTube tutorials, Reddit threads, forums, and discord servers. I never went to college and barely graduated high school... I'm self taught with everything I've ever done.
Fast forward 5 years and I released my first video game for Android devices determined to make this a career...

And now...I'm about to release my passion project Horror Tycoon as a solo/independent video game developer and small business owner.
Horror Tycoon is coming out on Steam early access on October 20th!
It's not done, but will be a sort of "living project"/work in progress and evolving based on player feedback from the amazing community that's growing every single day.

I'm excited, I'm scared, I'm nervous but most importantly I am proud I took the risk, took a chance and put it all on the line. Thanks to everyone who has been with me from the very beginning until now. 🀝

New gameplay modes

πŸ‘Ή Hello Players! πŸ‘Ή
Today it's time to publish more information related to the next stage of work, on our Horror Tycoon game.

Today's post will start with the newly added Game Modes πŸ†•
We decided to give you total control over how you want to play our production. We believe this will give you 100% satisfaction and a positive attitude towards the time spent in the game.

At this point, two modes have been implemented: πŸ‘‡ Standard mode - choose the difficulty level you are interested in and give it your all! To choose from, most likely, the standard level will be easy, intermediate and difficult, and each of them will provide you with different starting parameters. Remember all this is still subject to change, due to your suggestions under this post!

Sandbox mode - Don't worry about contracts, police and all the requirements for building your scare houses. Feel complete freedom and create a masterpiece you will be proud of 🏰

There will definitely be more gameplay modes in the future, so to stay up to date with any new information add our game to your STEAM WISHLIST βž•

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1506680/Horror_Tycoon/
Other amazing mechanics also came into play:
End of level statistics - These will be data describing important information about the level you are playing πŸ“ˆ

XP system - Earn XP for each scared guest. If you are able to kill a guest and get his soul, you will earn more XP as a result, simple right? πŸ”ͺ
The XP points you earn will cause you to level up, which will unlock new locations and items for you.
Build your Horror Tycoon empire❗
One of the coolest new features, in our opinion, is Exploration from a First Person Perspective - Explore all the attractions of your haunted house up close in first person mode. You will have the opportunity to personally test the level of spookiness of your attractions! πŸ‘€ In this mode, you can also explore the surrounding areas to discover secrets related to the game's plot, find items to collect and much more!

Of course, being in first-person mode is not mandatory πŸ‘Œ

For today, this will be all the information about Horror Tycoon game we have to show you. We hope you will enjoy the new game modes and make the gameplay more enjoyable and interesting.
We invite you to join our Discord, where you can personally ask about the details of the Creator and also talk to other players!
See You soon,
Horror Tycoon Team

New locations have appeared in the game

Hello players!
How are you? We hope you are fine.
Today we have a portion of interesting new information for you about our Horror Tycoon game.

Ready? Let's start!

What may be a nice ending for you is the fact that TWO completely new locations have appeared in the game:
The Forest - The action takes place in a remote area of the forest. You will have to face all the challenges lurking in the darkest corners, such as environmental conditions, fewer guests and more waves!

The Old Factory - The area is in an industrial part of the city, in an abandoned factory. Construction / industrial machinery and larger waves of quests will be a hindrance in this location!
Can you deal with these difficulties?

New features and mechanics will also appear in the game:
Hire and Fire Body Disposal Service Employees - The hired team is to remove the corpse by collecting guests' remains in nearby warehouses (e.g. garbage cans, barrels, water reservoirs)

Hire and Fire Lawyers - If you are caught red-handed by the police and you can afford to hire a lawyer, you will be able to count on his help in legal problems.

Set the price - For your Haunted House to increase revenues, set the price too high however, and your guests happiness will suffer and make them more likely to leave without ever entering your haunted house.
In addition, we are constantly working on improving the appearance and functionality of the UI to make the game more enjoyable for you! We will share further results of this work with you in the future.
In the next devlogs, as usual, we will share with you the next stages of work, new locations and we will be happy to hear your suggestions for Horror Tycoon.

Don't forget to add the game to your Steam wishlist
