Battlefield 2042's scoreboard update pushed back to March

Update 3.3 for Battlefield 2042 has been delayed slightly, as the developers take some time to work in some additional changes to the multiplayer game. The patch, which will include a planned "refresh" to the in-game scoreboard, was originally scheduled to launch sometime in "mid to late February," but will now arrive in early March.

In the meantime, the developers have rolled out a small hotfix today, February 3, to address some stability issues that have cropped up since update 3.2. Earlier this week, they announced that the first season of Battlefield 2042 has been delayed until the summer, and the beginning of that season will mark the beginning of a full year of seasonal content updates, Dice says.

In January, Dice shared a work-in-progress look at the refreshed scoreboard screen, which will include an at-a-glance view of relevant information like ribbon progression, overall team scores, and individual player performance stats like personal score contribution, kills, assists, and the weight of each stat. The plan is to include the refreshed scoreboard design in update 3.3, which will now arrive sometime in "early March" according to the updated plan.

Battlefield 2042 'did not meet expectations,' EA boss says

Things have not gone well for Battlefield 2042, the latest entry in EA's long-running military shooter series. It was buggy at launch, forcing DICE to rush fixes, and worse, many Battlefield fans really didn't care for some of the game's core design choices. As we noted when Battlefield 2042 was hammered with negative user reviews on Steam immediately after launch, the majority of early complaints focused on deliberate design choices that players felt stripped away too much of the traditional Battlefield character. The discontent ran deeply enough that EA recently decided to push the launch of Battlefield 2042's first season into early summer, so developers can work on improving the core game with both fixes and new features...

"Хотим доработать игру по высочайшим стандартам": Старт первого сезона Battlefield 2042 отложен до лета

Компания EA и студия DICE отложили запуск первого сезона Battlefield 2042. Об этом стало известно из нового поста в блоге разработчиков по ситуации с планом развития шутера после полученной критики.

Battlefield 2042's first season has been delayed to the summer

Battlefield 2042 still isn't in the shape the developers - or players - want it, and so the multiplayer game's season one release date has been pushed back to the summer. The Battlefield team says it's planning on incorporating player feedback into fixes and changes to the game prior to the launch of the first battle pass.

The latest update on the official Battlefield site lays out the general direction in which the developers want to focus attention over the next few months, although it's a bit vague on dates and other specifics. The next update will include a "refreshed" scoreboard to pull up during matches, with player feedback on breaking out friendly teams from enemy teams incorporated into the updated format - but it's still unclear when that update can be expected to launch.

The post also indicates that "all platform" voice communications are on the way, but does not specify whether that will be part of the next update or one later on down the line. A more detailed player profile screen is in the works too, but again, the post does not specify when that feature will be rolled out.
