Interim Update – Fixes & Improvements

This is a small but important mid-update.[/p][p][/p][p]This update includes several important fixes and adjustments:[/p]

[p]Vehicle Bug Fixed: Vehicles were clipping through the ground — this issue has been resolved.[/p]
[p]Lost Island: Transitions between water and land have been reworked.[/p]
[p]Weather: Various weather effects have been adjusted.[/p]
[p]Seasons: Seasons now change every 15 in-game days (24 months in 15 days).[/p]
[p]Multi Deck Pro: The character’s crouching posture has been reworked.[/p]

Development, expectations and future price changes

[p]As always, I want to communicate openly and honestly with you and give you a small update on the development of KeepUp Survival.[/p][p][/p][h3]Continuous Development[/h3][p]KeepUp Survival is constantly being improved and expanded by me as a solo developer. I work on it every day, adding new content, enhancements, and ideas for the future. [/p][p]Over the past months, KeepUp Survival has grown enormously:[/p]

[p]Many bug fixes[/p]
[p]Balancing adjustments[/p]
[p]Community requests implemented[/p]

[p][/p][h3]About Expectations & Comparisons[/h3][p]KeepUp Survival is often compared to big survival games. On one hand, that is a huge compliment, thank you very much for that! At the same time, such comparisons sometimes lead to false expectations.[/p][p]I understand that, because from the outside you often don’t see whether there is a large studio or just a single person behind a game.[/p][p]That’s why I just wanted to let you know:[/p][p]KeepUp Survival is developed completely by me alone, step by step, and I work on it every day to continue improving it.[/p][p][/p][h3]New Sense of Value[/h3][p]KeepUp Survival has grown significantly over time and continues to be actively developed and expanded by me as a solo developer.[/p][p]Some time ago, I asked the community (e.g., on Discord) for your opinion on the price. At that time, many of you found $14.99 to be fair, and since then KeepUp Survival has grown even more.[/p][p]Since the market is constantly changing and many survival and indie games are now in a similar or even significantly higher price range, I will adjust the price to $14.99 in the near future so that KeepUp Survival is also realistically and fairly positioned in terms of price.[/p][p][/p][p]IMPORTANT for everyone who wants to buy the game:[/p][p]Before the price is increased, there will be another fair discount,

New Update & More in the Works

[h2]Hello Community,[/h2][p]I am very happy to present to you a big new update for my game!
This update includes numerous improvements, expansions, revisions, and bug fixes.[/p][p][/p][p]My goal is to continuously improve the gameplay experience, and I hope you enjoy this update and that it may even lead to better feedback. As a solo developer, I work on this project with a lot of passion and try to implement your feedback as best as I can.[/p][p]Thank you very much for your support and feedback, I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the update![/p][p][/p][h3]Info[/h3][p]I’m already working on another major update that is planned to release in the near future. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to include everything I had planned in this update, but I’m doing my best to finish it before Halloween.[/p][p][/p][h3]Lost Island[/h3][p]I have thoroughly reworked the island. The world now looks much more overgrown and not as open as before. This prevents you from looking too far into empty areas, which improves the atmosphere and makes the overall world feel more cohesive. My goal was to make the island feel more inviting and immersive.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Ocean & Ponds[/h3][p]I have reworked the water across all available maps to make it look much more realistic.
The ocean now features stronger waves and beautiful foam crests.
Rivers and ponds have also been updated and now look more natural and believable.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Underwater World[/h3][p]The underwater world has been completely redesigned and now feels much more atmospheric. In the next update, it will become even more lively and varied.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Food & Wate[/h3][p]An important change I made is the consumption of food and water. From now on, you will use less overall, and even while sprinting the values decrease more slowly. This should make the system more balanced—neither too little nor too much.[/p][p][/p][h3]Loot Bag on Death [/h3][p]The loot bag has received a new look and is now also shown on the Multi-Deck so you can easily see where it is. However, this also adds a bit of challenge, since your navigator is stored inside your bag. So you have two options: either remember the location, or place a second Multi-Deck at your home.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Animals[/h3][p]I’ve made further improvements to the animals. Some players reported stuttering when animals were far away or when passing close to trees or similar objects. This issue has now been optimized and should no longer be as noticeable.[/p][p][/p][h3]Mountain[/h3][p][/p][h3]Tropical Island[/h3][p][/p][h3]Red Desert[/h3][p][/p][h3]Optimizations[/h3][p]I am always doing my best to optimize the game as much as possible. However, it can happen that performance may improve or decrease slightly after an update. Since KeepUp Survival switched from UE4 to UE5, it has become more performance-intensive, which can make it harder to run on older PCs. As many of you have already noticed, the performance on Lost Island is currently not as good as on the other maps. Still, it’s important to me that older hardware continues to be well supported.[/p][p][/p][p]Recommended Settings[/p]

[p]For modern hardware: Use DX12 and TSR or TAA. For older hardware: TAA is recommended. [/p]
[p]Alternatively, starting the game with DX11 may give better results.[/p]

Upcoming Update in KeepUp Survival – The World Is Changing!

[p][/p][p]A new update for KeepUp Survival will be released soon, bringing some exciting new features![/p][p][/p][p]I know you’ve been eagerly waiting for it, so I’d like to give you a small sneak peek.[/p][p][/p][p]This time, the focus is on the environment and atmosphere. In addition, I’ll be reworking the loot a bit, and there will be more crafting options. For Halloween, I’m also planning special decorations for crafting. I hope everything goes according to plan so that I can release the update in time.[/p][p]Furthermore, I want to add new exploration opportunities and make underground buildings accessible for you to discover. Since time was a bit tight in the last update.[/p][p][/p][p]I set approximate time goals for when an update should be finished. If something doesn’t fit within the timeframe, it will be postponed to the next update.
