[p]Heyo Photographers! Welcome to our next Beta update for Sapphire Safari, version 027.3209! We are nearing the end of the development requirements for the v027 stable patch, so there are a lot of QOL features in this one. However, each update took a lot to get right. Ready to do some reading? Heck yeah, boi![/p][p][/p][h2]Locomotion[/h2][p]Your Photographer is a very capable human! Now they can climb ropes and balance on beams! Because of this, several key locations, like the Radio Beacon locations, have been updated to match our new climbing and locomotion systems as well![/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]And because so many of you have asked, we have removed the guardrails on cliffs. Feel free to throw yourselves off as much as you like! No more hand-holding.[/p][p][/p][h2]Stealth[/h2][p]A long-awaited tweak to the stealth system in Sapphire Safari is here! Now, if you slowly walk behind creatures, they will remain unaware of you. This only works if they cannot see you, so the old rules still apply for creatures facing you.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Sex Systems[/h2][p]When you’re within a Monsutra animation (not a capture animation), you’ll be able to return to the Monsutra popup to select a new position to enter. This is done by hitting the Tab button. You can also toggle the clothing state for the playable Photographer. We do plan to expand on this in the next patch to toggle just how nude you can be.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Also, during any sex animations - including captures - the “Skip” prompt will fast forward to the climax of the animation instead of skipping it entirely. Lastly, we have touched up the ejaculation sprites and included something temporary for female climaxes.
[/p][h2]Creatures[/h2][p]The final creature for the Plains biome is now available! Sultray is a night-only spawn Moth who will likely be visible from big distances away due to her unique flight animation that puts her high above any other creature![/p][p]
[/p][p]All three of the new creatures on the island now have full voice work done. We held auditions and found three perfect actresses to match our ideal vocals for each of the creatures.[/p][p]Another update that is worth mentioning here is that we have tweaked the spawns of each creature on the island. Meaning the nocturnal creatures like Lecho, Furloin, and Sultray will now only spawn at night, with a slight random chance they will show up during the day. Good hunting![/p][p][/p][h2]Achievements[/h2][p]We have added nine new achievements to the game (not accessible on Steamworks), three of which are related to Monpedia completion, and the other six are fun new things for you all to try to complete![/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]We will also be working on bringing achievements to GOG as well.[/p][p][/p][h2]Island Updates[/h2][p]Along with the new Radio Beacon towers (and a few hidden things related to climbing), we have also added a new hidden micro biome in the Plains region. This place is called the Underground Garden, and it will eventually become the Sultray nest, but for now, use it to help fill out your Monpedia entries![/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Conclusion[/h2][p]Phew, what a massive patch. This is likely going to be the second-to-last patch we do on the Beta Branch before we launch v027, as we have about three more features we want to build into the game. These include a POV mode for sex acts, a sex act camera mode, and more details for clothing options during sex acts. The camera update will likely cause some bugs, so expect another beta patch to get some live feedback on it before we push v027 out to stable.

Beta Branch - v027.3108

[p]Hello Photographers, got another beta patch for you all today. v027.3108 is entirely focused on the overhaul of the player locomotion system. How our photographers move around the world, and how they interact with the environment. It is a significant change from how it was previously set up, so you’ll likely experience a break in your muscle memory for the game and possibly encounter a few complications or errors.[/p][p][/p][h2]Advanced Locomotion System [/h2][p]For the overhaul, we chose to use the ALS Community asset, an open-source tool for Unreal to improve input and feedback for player locomotion. It includes a few nice things like mantling on edges, animation blending for leans, and some ragdoll systems. The last week or so has been spent combining our existing systems and tools into this, but there are some things we will need more time on.[/p][p][/p][h2]First Person Perspective[/h2][p]Along with the mantles and such, we now have access to First Person tools, so we built our own optimizations around the tech. You can use the mouse wheel to move in and out of first and third person. We even optimized the photographer models to allow for body perspective.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Climbing and Exploration Tools[/h2][p]Now that the player can climb, jump, and grapple ledges, the way you’d imagine you can. We have decided to expand the side activities in the game just a little. Because of this, we now have a little climbing puzzle that is going to be part of the next set of achievements in the game.
