Patch Notes: v0.5.11

How’s everyone doing today?? What better way to enjoy the crisp Autumn air than to snuggle close to your computer while playing Dysterra. We have some more updates this week to make your life easier, starting with an improvement to grenade throwing. We look forward to seeing you all on the servers!



Better Grenade Accuracy!

Throw grenades exactly where you want them to land. Grenades now lose most of their velocity when hitting a wall or landing on the ground.




Get In the Action Faster

For all of you busy players out there, we’ve upgraded the equipment you start with on the Global Uncapped PvP & Global PvP Hardcore servers.

New players will start with the following equipment: Fine Reinf. Fiber Armor Set
= Helmet, upper suit, & lower suit (non-repairable)
SMG MMP-500X ECLAIR (non-repairable)
Light Ammo: x2000
Dash Protocol Healing Protocol Canned Meat Stew



Level Up

Getting your first skill level just got faster! We’ve reduced the xp points required to get to level one for new players to start strategizing their play that much sooner.

Pts required to reach level 1
Before: 1000
Now: 100

(Note: The amount of points from level 1 to level 2 remains the same.)



Six More New Perks

We’ve added 6 new perks to the game:
🎲 Weaponsmith - Blades
🎲 Weaponsmith - Blunts
🎲 Weaponsmith - Short Range Guns
🎲 Weaponsmith - Mid Range Guns
🎲 Weaponsmith - Long Range Guns
🎲 Weaponsmith - Rocket Launchers



Each of these will add an additional possible level for their corresponding skill, allowing up to 30% or 40% higher max durability when crafting the related weapon type. You’ll now be even more prepared to take on new areas and new enemies knowing you’ll be stronger than ever before with your handy perk!

To encourage their distribution, we’ll be doubling the drop rates of these 6 perks for the next 2 weeks until Wednesday, November 1st.



Base Repair Improvement

If you have a level 2 building core or higher, you’re able to remotely repair parts of your base. We’ve added a notification that will pop up when you’re unable to repair something. It’ll tell you why you can’t: insufficient resources, base part is in cooldown, etc. No more wondering why something isn’t letting you repair it!



Mob AI

Mobs will now continue to chase you even after you hide around corners or somewhere out of sight.



Bug Fixes & Optimizations

🦋 Frame drop issue when entering build mode with a large number of build parts in the world.
🦋 Optimization for low-end devices experiencing low frames in the lobby.
🐛 Pistol firing delay wasn’t correctly being applied when while running.
🐛 Issue where the firing animation is displayed when switching to automatic mode after a single shot in single-shot mode.
🐛 Issue where the timer on the incubator is displayed even when it drops below 0 seconds.
🐛 Incubator issue where the remaining time resets to the moment of reactivation every time the fuel slot is refreshed after stopping and then restarting the operating incubator.
🐛 Level 2 incubator localization issue.
🐛 Issue with item quantity getting cut off by commas when using the UI's Tooltip for Item Split.
🐛 Durability not functioning correctly when using the Item Split feature with stacks.
🐛 Fixed the issue of XeSS not being applied after restarting the game when activated from the graphics options.

Patch Notes: v0.5.10 (Preview)

We learned so much from the recent Blitz Mode server experiments, and now we’re ready to start making permanent changes to our official servers. This week we’re making two big changes to item gathering. For all of the survivors that were fans of the Blitz Mode experiments, we plan on doing them again in the near future once we’ve implemented everything we learned from the first wave of Blitz Modes.



Less Farming!

We’ve tripled resource gathering speed and doubled mob damage on the following servers:

Carry Twice As Much!

The max stack size for all stackable items has been doubled. You can now carry twice as much, and store twice as much!
(Non-stackable items still have a max stack size of 1.)



Optimizations & Bug Fixes

🕑 We added some code to make sure nearby shadows still look smooth and clean even when the shadow setting is at its lowest.

🐛 Corrected error limiting the max stack size for Electric Floors and Triangle Electric Floors.

🐛 Fixed issue where a player would still receive clan benefits even after having left the clan (defensive facilities, vehicle use).

Patch Notes: v0.5.9

This week’s patch has some new skills, their corresponding perks, and a simplified repair system. The new perks will be distributed at a higher rate for a limited time as well. Keep reading to learn more!



Easier Building Repairs!

Repairing your base has never been more convenient! You now only need basic stone or basic metal to repair buildings. For the most part, Tier 1 and Tier 2 base parts can be repaired using only basic stone, and Tier 3 and Tier 4 base parts require simple metal to be repaired.



Five More New Skills (And Their Perks)
We’ve added 5 new perks to the game:
📌 Hemostatic Medikit
📌 Fracture Medikit
📌 Cold Pack
📌 Heat Pack
📌 Rad Hazmat Mask

Each of these will add an additional possible level for their corresponding skill, allowing up to 20% protection from each damage type. You’ll now be even more prepared to take on new areas and new enemies knowing you’ll be safer than ever before with your handy perk!

We’ve also added 5 perks that correspond to the above skills to all decks.

Bug Fixes & Optimizations

🐞 Recoil should reset smoothly on all guns now.
🚀 Fixed the gathering animation while running with a gun to make it feel smoother.
🐞 You can no longer build a wall on the side of a ramp.

BLITZ MODE!!

Next Blitz Mode!!!💥

We are currently conducting various tests on the Blitz event server to move forward onto the next phase. Our primary goal is to improve and address various aspects of the game, especially scenarios where failing to protect your base results in losing everything. We encourage you to experience the event server and share your feedback on Discord.

On the Blitz Mode server, you won’t be able to form teams, so you’ll have to scavenge for yourself as you fight to stay alive and rank higher and higher to get those sweet, sweet perks!

Next week, due to the Chuseok holiday (Korean Thanksgiving), we will be taking a break from our regular updates. We hope you all have a pleasant Chuseok. Dynamic Difficulty in Meteocenter

We’ve added a dynamic difficulty feature to the Meteocenter.
For each of the 4 checkpoints, and also for the elevator section, the number of mobs that spawn will be different depending on how many survivors are in the corresponding room. If there are more people inside, more mobs will spawn. The reward box in each area will also contain more loot as a result of the higher difficulty.

This is our first implementation of dynamic difficulty adjustment in a facility, and we're investigating applying it to other facilities in the future. We encourage players to try out this new feature and we would love to hear your feedback.



Five New Perks

We’ve added 5 new perks to the set of available perks.
To encourage their distribution, we’ll be doubling the drop rates of these 5 perks for the next 2 weeks until Thursday, October 5th.

Optimizations & Bug Fixes

🐛 Fixed issue where survivors couldn’t build a second 3-Stack shelf on top of an existing 3-Stack shelf.
🐛 Fixed issue where items in the Chemochamber’s core weren’t dropping in the correct amounts.

🐛 Fixed issue where items that dropped when destroying building parts would result in the dropped item floating rather than appear at ground level.

🐞 Simplified the facility status notifications.
