Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle, Season One News

Exciting things afoot this week as the NALE Chapter IV page has a new written description, all as part of our ongoing work towards release.

We'll have a release date for you soon, once our final few pieces of artwork are in place, but for now, here's the new blurb that gives you a sneak peek into the exciting next chapter in Nina's story:

It’s been several months since Nina defended the Rostro Racers in court, and Fledge City residents eagerly anticipate the next season of the home-grown streaming show hit: the magical girl sensation, Valkyrie: Sacred Feathers!

But when an on-set lover’s tiff takes a dark turn, Nina Aquila is tasked with defending Millia Nordin, the lead actress, in a murder case that defies explanation, even by the defendant herself.

North of the city, dissent grows as the Bikers of the Wastes are vanishing without a trace. Seeking answers, a lone rider saddles up for the long journey south, searching for the one man who she knows who can help her.

With Millia in custody, tension on the streets of Fledge City rises as each night brings with it unnatural, unexplainable events; disappearances, explosions, tales of monsters sighted in dark alleyways. Set on a journey where present fiction echoes the truth of the past, can Nina find the strength buried within herself to search for answers, and rise as the hero that Fledge City needs?

Lore meets the law for a war-between-worlds, with Fledge City’s courtroom as the fulcrum about which fate will turn!

Feathers will fly, wings unfurl, and light will shine amid the darkness… But before that, there’s gonna be magic, monsters and a whole load of sparkles.

I can never put a date on the release of Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle, Chapter IV. Longtime fans will be aware this isn't my day-job, and I can only work on the games when I have time. But things have been progressing well on Chapter IV recently, and I want to just share with you that I aim to try and release C4 before the end of 2024. Thanks in advance for your patience; I'm sure no-one expected it to take this long (myself included!) but I hope you can understand.

Hi everyone! Coming to you with an unusually personal plea.

Much of the equipment I use for NALE development is bought on the thrift, as I try to keep costs really low in order to maximise the budget I can spend on making the games the best they can be.

Unfortunately, a couple of months ago the office chair I use developed a problem, and is finally giving up the ghost. I need to replace it as soon as possible before it becomes totally unusable.

This is a problem because I've suffered from lower back problems in the past, so I have to get good quality chairs. I'm also a plus-sized, fat-bodied person, which places some constraints on what I should get. I was very lucky to score this imitation Aeron chair on eBay ~5 years ago for an absolute steal, but I've been watching eBay for a similar bargain and just haven't found one.

While it's not the most exciting or sexy tool of the gamedev trade, I think people will agree that a working office chair is pretty vital in game development.

I want to look after my health and buy a quality chair with a long guarantee, so I want to buy a refurbished actual Herman Miller Aeron Chair, but these are £350, or ~$440. But I'm not comfortable with asking for donations, so instead, I'm putting my game on offer!

So during this period of the Steam Autumn Sale, I'm putting NALES1 at 50% off, and will be funnelling the earnings towards a purchase of a chair.
