[Notice] DAY 1 – Developer Letter

Hello Survivors, this is the DARKEST DAYS team.

We’re thrilled to have met so many survivors through the recently launched Open Beta! While there are still areas for improvement, we’re committed to polishing the game and responding to all your valuable feedback. We truly appreciate your support.

To kick things off, here are the issues that have been fixed, as well as those we are currently working on:
Known Issues & Fixes

Disconnections During Multiplayer (In Progress)
Many survivors may have experienced this issue on Biel Island.
We have identified the cause and are currently working on a fix. We will update everyone once it has been applied!
Shelter Management Quest Not Progressing (Fixed)
This issue has been resolved and players should now be able to progress normally.
Barracks Upgrade Material Issues & Resident Reactivation (Fixed)
When the barracks were still at Level 1, if a player accidentally deactivated a resident, they could not be reactivated due to a lack of available beds.
In addition, materials for upgrading the barracks were difficult to obtain, making it hard to activate additional residents.
To fix this, we’ve removed material requirements to upgrade barracks from Lv.1 to Lv.2
We've also sent a bundle of wood to your mailbox as an apology for the inconvenience caused in finding materials!
Live Stream Q&A Highlights
We also began hosting 100 days of daily live streams and gathered some key questions from yesterday’s stream:

Q1. I’m getting a message saying “Account already linked to a third party” and can’t link my account.
A: This means a different character is already registered under your account. Please contact customer support and we’ll help you delete the unused character so you can link properly.
In the future, you’ll be able to choose the character you want to link directly.

Q2. I repaired my car, but the damaged door didn’t get fixed.
A: Repair kits only restore a portion of the damage. Severely damaged vehicles may need multiple repair kits.

Q3. I keep getting disconnected while playing on Biel Island.
A: We’ve identified the issue and are working on a fix! We’ll update you once it has been applied.

Q4. I accidentally deactivated Oliver and now I can’t take him with me.
A: We’re updating the game so that the first barracks upgrade (Lv. 1 > Lv. 2) can be done immediately. You’ll now be able to upgrade to Lv.2 without needing to search for wood.

Q5. How can I delete my character?
A: To prevent accidental or unauthorized deletions (such as through hacking), deleted characters go through a 7-day grace period.
If you want to delete a character to link accounts between mobile and Steam, please contact customer support and we’ll help you out as quickly as possible.

Q6. I want to change my nickname, so I’m trying to delete my character. Can you sell a nickname change item?
A: Currently, we don’t support nickname changes, but we are considering adding this feature in the future.

Q7. Is this a P2W (Pay-to-Win) game?
A: With the exception of a few items in the Community Pass (like Luna Bloody and pets), all gear and growth materials can be earned through gameplay (looting, crafting, quest rewards, etc.).
There are currently no exclusive paid weapons or armor that are only available in the shop.
From the beginning, our development team has avoided creating a P2W experience and focused on allowing players to enjoy the game at their own pace.
That said, we understand that some of the limited-time items may have come across differently, especially for those with less time to play, and for that, we apologize.

Overall, we apologize if some of you were left with a negative first impression of the game. We hope you’ll continue to follow the game as we grow and improve it in the future.
