June 5 Korean AMA & Roadmap Update Q&A
[p]![]()
Q. What happens to EXP after reaching level 40?
A. EXP will now continue to accumulate beyond level 40.
All EXP previously earned through quests will also accumulate and be applied as well.
An issue that causes EXP values to display as an infinite amount is currently being fixed.
Q. The Community Pass rewards seem to have changed. Can you let us know why?
A. Starting this season, the Community Pass has been revamped to offer more variety and themed rewards. The final reward is a skin for the new resident, Kyla Jane. Going forward, we plan to align rewards with each season’s theme.
Q. There seems to be a bug with Kyla Jane's quests.
A. We’ve identified the issue preventing quest progression and will fix it. Also, some of Kyla Jane’s quests unlock the following day because they are based on in-game time.
Q. What’s changing in the PVE content?
A. For survivors who prefer PVE content over PVP, ER can now be earned from PVE activities. Killing Contaminated Flowers, Zombie Hordes, Titans, and Gigas will now reward you with ER.
Also, an ER supply system through the Shelter facilities is in development, and ER acquisition in Rootland has been increased.
Q. The residents block the view too much.
A. We’ve received a lot of feedback regarding this.
The first phase of improvement patch prevents residents from blocking your line of fire.
In the next update, a “Combat Stance” setting will also be introduced.
Q. Will there be more ways to level up residents?
A. Yes! A new "Resident Expedition" feature is coming.
You can send residents on expeditions using gas tanks, and they’ll grow through the process.
Now you’ll be able to level-up residents in different ways and not just through hunting or combat manuals.
Q. Reporting abnormal players in Rootland is too inconvenient.
A. We plan to add a report function that lets you report the opposition directly when your character dies.
We are also continuously strengthening systems to prevent abuse via third-party programs.
Q. Are new guns and armor always OP?
A. We are focusing on continuously adding distinctive and not overpowered gear.
Each piece of equipment is designed to support specific roles and play styles.
Q. I heard there's going to be a Survivor Level system?
A. Yes, starting from the June 5 update, a new growth system based on accumulated EXP is being added.
We plan to offer seasonal growth content, and reaching certain levels will unlock cosmetic rewards.
Q. Are guild systems coming too?
A. Yes, we’re currently developing it!
We’re exploring features like Guild Housing and potential Guild Wars mode (tentative).
Our goal is to enable more group-oriented play.
Q. I’m not happy with the Boss Raid Contribution Scoring system.
A. Actions like killing zombies and rescuing other survivors will be better reflected in your score.
Also, the reward structure will also be adjusted to reflect these new changes.
Q. What about the skill system revamp?
A. We’ve received feedback that the current system lacks some uniqueness.
We’re working on a complete overhaul that allows skills to meaningfully change gameplay, and not just add stats.
Details will be shared once this new system is finalized.
Q. Armor feels too weak.
A. We agree. We've internally acknowledged the low efficiency of armor upgrades and are discussing improvements.
Q. How are you addressing multi-account issues?
A. We’re actively monitoring multiple accounts connecting from the same device or IP.
Only accounts with clear signs of suspicious activity will be sanctioned, so regular users need not worry.
Q. Will there be an equipment inheritance system?
A. Currently, there are no plans for this type of system, but we will revisit it at a later time.
Q. Losing all your items upon death in Rootland is quite scary.
A. Many new players are unintentionally dropping items upon entering Rootland.
We are working on in-game solutions and considering systems like a Safe Box to preserve certain items.
Q. When will the weapon balance adjustments happen?
A. Buffs to SSR weapons will come first and then, we plan to rebalance underused weapons like melee, pistols, and others.
Q. Enhancement stress is too high…
A. We believe the current structure in which growth past level 40 relies heavily on gear is the core issue.
We're introducing the Survivor Level system to provide alternative growth paths.
We also agree that the current enhancement downgrade experience is a bit too harsh and are discussing improvements. However, due to interconnected balance issues, we can’t announce specific changes just yet.
Q. The new resident’s appearance is underwhelming.
A. We’ll be sure to upgrade the visual quality.
Q. Why can’t residents and players share outfits?
A. The character models are different, so they can't use the same clothes directly.
However, we plan to introduce NPC outfits that players can unlock through Survivor Level rewards in the future.
Q. Are you doing stealth patches?
A. Definitely not. All balances and content changes are always announced in advance to the community.
Q. Zombies don’t seem to bite anymore?
A. The early game had biting and QTE (Quick-time event) to escape, but we removed it as it didn’t fit our current direction.
Now zombies are designed to attack without a grab mechanic.
Q. Shelter facilities don’t feel useful.
A. We’re adjusting the system values so the benefits of facilities will be more noticeable.
Q. Where can I get blueprints?
A. Residents over level 20 can obtain blueprints through Expeditions.
They can also be earned through Achievement rewards.
We plan to add more blueprint drops in new content like Holitore Hard and Resident Expeditions.
Q. Can we search by prefix in the marketplace?
A. Yes, we’re adding a prefix search feature so you can find specific item options more easily.
Q. Push rewards feel too weak.
A. Starting this season, push rewards will be increased.
Q. How is game security being improved?
A. As of the June 5 update, the client-side security has been strengthened.
If the game is launched alongside suspicious programs, it may not run.
DARKEST DAYS takes a strict stance against unauthorized software usage.
Q. Are macros allowed?
A. Macros using external programs are prohibited.
We’re discussing policy on hardware vendor-provided macros and will share details once finalized.
Q. Where can iOS users enter coupons?
A. Coupons can be redeemed through the official website.

- Displaying hidden stats on gear

- Chat-linked item sharing
- Auto ammo reload
- Bulk repair / Storage features
- Additional zombie types

- Loot system overhaul (e.g., zombies drop items instantly)
