Wild Boar update - Fixes And Changes #1



Hello Hunters!

How has your Wild Boar hunting been? In this update we have some fixes, changes and finally our very own hunting gloves! We also added some animal behavior for wounded animals. Bleeding animals will now lie down after they have calmed down and low health animals slow down to walk before dying. Use this information to improve your hunting tactics! Here are all the changes:

  • Added custom hunting gloves!

  • Improved .303 rifles bolt handling*
  • Increased .44 revolvers chamber areas for easier loading
  • Changed pointers to custom line renderers (no more ugly cubes)
  • Changed .44 revolvers ammo box
  • Added bullet eject sounds to .44 revolver
  • Adjusted binoculars default lens distance to suit for average eye width
  • Added roots and small branches to Wild Boars feeding track
  • Changed harvest screens shot info text colors

[h2]Animal Changes[/h2]
  • Bleeding animals will now lie down after calming down
  • Increased bleeding from vital and non-vital hits
  • Animals will slow down when in low health
  • Synced Wild Boars walking speed and animation
  • Increased the chance for Wild Boars to make feeding tracks
  • Slight changes to animal active and inactive times

[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue where grabbing ammo from the ammo box put the ammo back, needing to grab it again
  • Fixed an issue where mobile tracker disappeared when going to the lodge scene after playing the tutorial
  • Fixed an issue where dead Boars highlight didn’t work
  • Fixed an issue where Wild Boars didn’t stare at player when paralyzed
  • Fixed an issue where bleeding tracks would stop even if animal was still bleeding
  • Removed hints from Wild Boars feed area tracks

* There was a bug in the .303’s bolt where it wouldn’t work properly in odd angles and it was hard to use with off hand. With this update the bolts handling should be fixed.

Wild Boar Update

Hello Hunters!

In this update we introduce our first new animal - Wild Boar! These loud and heavily built animals are found in big groups all around the reserve. Check the area for their unique feeding tracks and lure them in with the brand new caller. But you better carry the new .44 revolver with you since on a rare occasion the boars can turn aggressive if you get too close.

  • Basic health system to the player*

[h2]Changes[/h2]
  • Info board opens when the player buys an item
  • RAM optimization
  • Bullet returns to ammo box if it’s held when the gun is put away
  • Optics stabilization distance is checked from the object, not from the controller
  • Weapons stabilization allows now more controller movement before the stabilization ends
  • Ejecting unused ammo from the .303 rifle now adds the ejected ammo back to the players ammo**
  • General reflections to all maps***
  • Early morning sky doesn't have a black horizon anymore
  • Removed auto exposure. This feature darkened the view when looking towards the sun, making the game very dark. Now light is more even and clearer

[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue where the player can grab objects from distance
  • Fixed an issue where ammo item location can't be else than the default slot without errors
  • Fixed an issue where item incompatible with the backslot caused controller to vibrate always when touching it
  • Fixed an issue where animals might not spawn and there isn't vegetation in the Bulgarian reserve

* Added basic health system to the player. Currently player will passively heal after taking damage. Boars dealt damage is based on players stance. The lower you are, the more damage you take since tusks reach more vital areas.

** This is a temporary solution for losing .303 ammo when quitting the game. You can now eject ammo from .303 rifle with the slider to preserve them.

*** All maps have now general reflections, making metal textures and water more realistic. It shouldn’t have performance impact but please let us know in the forums or our Discord if you experience worse performance.

Launch Patch - Fixes And Changes #4

Hello hunters!


This update is a small hotfix for a couple big issues that were reported. Animals didn’t spawn for some players and Bulgaria reserve didn’t always have vegetation. We also improved the locked inventory a bit.

  • Locked inventory rotates according the snap angle during snap turn

  • Fixed an issue where sometime animals didn't spawn correctly
  • Fixed an issue where vegetation didn't spawn on the Bulgarian hunting reserve

Launch Patch - Fixes And Changes #3

Hello hunters!

We have another update for you and just in time for the holidays! This patch includes some quality of life changes, reworked animal paralyzation, improvements to the inventory (you can now lock it in place!) and much more!

[h2]Changes[/h2]
  • Added left handed support for .303 rifle. The weapon is now mirrored when grabbed with the left hand, just like the bow. Scope rail is slightly over the chamber but doesn’t affect loading the weapon.
  • Increased distance when hand will ungrab from .303s bolt
  • Added book stands on shelves
  • Reworked spine hits and animal paralyzation. Animals will now fall over with spine hits, get paralyzed and will stare at the player when getting close. They will slowly bleed out so additional shots are required.*
  • Added “Game paused” text and game logo to the in-game menu.
  • Droppings are now an additional track and won’t replace footprint
  • Reduced snap turn delay
  • Reduced .303s stabilization when holding breath without a scope
  • Changed droppings' times slightly. They go faster from fresh to aged. This means that fresh droppings now indicate that animals are more likely still close.
  • Increased track duration
  • Moved shooting range targets closer and lower when inspecting them
  • Added some hints to loading screens
  • Added lock feature to the inventory. By pressing the lock button, it will lock the inventory in place and it won’t turn with your head
  • Inventory will now turn smoothly when it’s rotation is updated when looking down

[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue where animals could return to the same spot after fleeing
  • Fixed an issue where backup button could create an empty save instead of copying the actual save
  • Fixed the harvest screens slider
  • Fixed an issue where you could harvest tutorial animal too early, skipping harvest screen tutorial completely
  • Fixed an issue where run toggle didn’t change to other joystick when movement hand was changed from the menu
  • Fixed an issue where inventory would turn random degrees instead of the set amount
  • Fixed a crash when quitting game from the in-game menu or main menu
  • Fixed a crash when changing stance with joystick while hanging from a ladder

*Male red deer can sometimes have issues with the new spine hit. We are reworking the animations and the model a bit and this issue will be fixed when they are released.

Hello hunters!

We have another update for you where we improve general item interactions, inventory interactions and add general useability improvements. Also fixes for animals and other bug fixes. Thank you for all the awesome feedback once again and keep it coming! We are glad to hear from you. Read the full patch notes below.

  • Interacting with objects and equipment has been improved
  • Interacting with inventory has been improved
  • Increased hands interaction spots size when holding an item and moved it more towards fingers
  • Added background to store and travel buttons
  • Added a new path and sign to the archery range closer to the lodge
  • Binoculars inventory size has been slightly increased
  • Added book outlines on the shelves when book is grabbed
  • Disabled travelling to the lodge from in-game menu when at the lodge
  • Changed wording in some tutorial signs to be more clear
  • Decreased red deer tracks distance for easier tracking
  • Several UI elements and loading screens aren’t affected by texture quality anymore

[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Animals won’t run towards the player while fleeing, unless they have no other way to go
  • Fixed an issue where player couldn’t get all free ammo and buy more
  • Fixed an issue where player got stuck in tutorial if they carried binoculars to the range in hand
  • Fixed an issue where animals could stop taking damage
