Mission: Bugsquish - Complete!

Our testing is now complete and the fixes are now available!


Good news!! We (hopefully) have now resolved all the issues that were reported. In fact we released these as promised earlier today. 🚀🛠️

Thanks again to everyone who was so kind to let us know what we had done and we trust that this has shown you that we remain determined to get this right!

But we aren't complacent and we understand that issues can still happen - please let us know if we have missed anything and we promise to do everything we can to fix them. More than that we see this as just the start. Not only can we now look to finish up the Xbox and PlayStation releases in the New Year as well as get started on our plans to roll out our roadmap to build new seasonal content, missions, cosmetics, recipes, crafting, deeper bonds, oh! the list of what we want to bring to the island continues.

To confirm the bugs we have fixed include:

  1. Fixed issues with inability to save (NEW)
  2. Fixed bug which reverts areas of the map back to their original state (NEW)
  3. WASD and other remapping fixes (NEW)
  4. Fix for infinite loading when traveling in rapid succession (NEW)
  5. Companions mood now shows correctly on clients (NEW)
  6. Tool prices have decreased (NEW)
  7. Updated EOS version(handles multiplayer in cross-play)
    • No longer prompt to authorize Ikonei Island with an Epic Account on startup
    • Fix an issue where some players got an infinite black screen
  8. Achievements should now unlock for clients in a multiplayer game
  9. Fixed a crash when disconnecting and reconnecting to internet
  10. Fixed an issue where clients and host would see a different mooncycle on the daily summary screen
  11. Fixed an issue where the health bar would be hidden when bonded with a companion
  12. Fixed an issue where clients couldn't plant seeds in a multiplayer session
  13. Economy balances

Bugs fixed! - now testing to make sure... (want to help?)

We got off to a bit of a rocky start.


There is no other way to put it. Quite a few bugs surfaced during the first weekend that somehow months and months of QA testing hadn't found. I would like to apologize to everyone for this!

We have been so grateful for amazing reviews whilst we were in Early access. So it's hard to express the impact which hit all of us on the team when we started seeing our reviews going from ‘Very Positive' (between 87%-91% rating) down to just 'Mixed in the most recent reviews'. The impact on the team has been devastating. 😭😭😭

It was all fair though as the bugs were significant and we agree that this is unacceptable!
So over this week the team has worked above and beyond. We have even had to encourage them to be careful about taking time to stop and rest. But their commitment to trying to fix all the problems has been amazing - we are so grateful to them. This is a labor of love for us all and you, the players, deserve to have a game which delivers on its promised experience.

We are determined to get this right and to regain your faith in us - hopefully convert a few of those reviews back to positive. We have so much more planned in our future roadmap with new seasonal content, new missions, deeper bonds with the creatures and characters, etc etc.

We can now report that we believe we have solved all of the biggest issues. The temptation is to release this immediately but that would be a mistake. We need to make sure it has been tested extensively. It is imperative that we confirm that the fixes are out and that we haven’t accidentally introduced more issues.

For those of you who don't want to wait and want to be part of the process of checking, we have created a beta branch for you to try out. No expectations! And, obviously, we appreciate the support from anyone willing to take a look!

Our Bug Quest Continues...

In our efforts to knock off those remaining bugs, glitches, and imperfections🐞that you lovely people have told us about (and a few others we have managed to uncover for ourselves in the process) We have another update!!

We take our commitment to making this game the best we can very seriously and we don't take for granted the support we have had from you all - you all have our heartfelt thanks 🙏

In this update we have now fixed the following issues:
  • Updated EOS version. Players should no longer be prompted to authorise Ikonei Island with an Epic Account on start up. This should also fix an issue where some players got an infinite black screen.
  • Fixed feedback UI now being properly removed from the screen after feedback was submitted.
  • Achievements should now unlock for clients in a multiplayer game.
  • Fixed a crash when disconnecting and reconnecting to internet.
  • Fixed an issue where clients and host would see a different mooncycle on the daily summary screen.
  • Fixed an issue where the health bar would be hidden when bonded with a companion.
  • Fixed saving and loading of keybindings. BUT! unfortunately for now you can't change the WASD movement keys. We know this is a big issue for many keyboard layouts and we are working to address that as soon as we can.
  • Fixed an issue where clients couldn't plant seeds in a multiplayer session.
  • Minor economy re-balancing.


We hope this helps resolves a bunch more of the issues folks have been reporting and although we still have a number of things left to resolve we hope it does demonstrate our continued commitment to ensuring that everyone has a great playing experience. We aim to bring another update soon.

Fixing Glitches... More to come...

Over the weekend whilst we had some amazingly positive feedback from players who were really enjoying the game, a few players experienced bunch of bugs, glitches, and imperfections🐞We can't express our gratitude enough to those wonderful people for being willing to let us know so that we would have a chance to fix these issues 🙏

In this update we have now fixed the following issues:
  • Losing connection to host This is now fixed and players can now play single player without an internet connection
  • Bug which reverts areas of the map back to their original state - e.g. restoring barriers This is now fixed and saving will now wait for loading to complete. This prevents unwanted objects from appearing, like blockers respawning, and also ensures work orders and shrines stay fixed as intended.


The team are still hard at work and will come back with more fixes/updates as soon as possible.

We hope this demonstrates that we are committed to ensuring that everyone has a great playing experience.

Bugs, Glitches, Imperfections - we are working on it!

🏝️ Hey Castaways!! 🏝️


As you may have noticed we launched 🚀on Thursday and there have been a bunch of mixed reviews due to a bunch of bugs, glitches, and imperfections🐞over this weekend. First off, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who reported these issues 🙏

We are glad to say that the majority of players seem to be having a great time, based on the reviews, but we appreciate that even if this is only affecting a few people it’s not good enough. We feel really bad that anyone had problems like this and we are going to deal with this head on.
Here are some of the issues raised:
  • “Losing connection to host” - Whilst the game does use online tools so we can provide content updates and events, this shouldn't be affecting your ability to play solo. We are looking into why this has happened and will get this fixed ASAP.
  • “Bug which reverts areas of the map back to their original state - e.g. restoring barriers” - This should not be happening obviously.
  • “Need to have an Epic Account” - you do not need an epic account but on rare occasions a small number of users seem to get stuck in a loop where they don’t seem to be able to skip this.
  • Key Binding bug - some users have stated that they have had issues where changing the controls fails to save properly. E.g. when switching from QWERTY to AZERTY Keyboard layouts.

Our team is already hard at work, working out what has caused these issues and getting you a hot-fix in the next few days. 🔨⚙️
Rest assured, we're treating this seriously and with the utmost urgency, we know you all deserve a smooth gaming experience! We will do better!
Additionally, we have had some comments about some elements of the game we also want to fix that includes:
  • Ability to Pause the Game - currently you can only Save & Quit
  • Onboarding - some people aren’t hitting the information/unlocks intended making for them the process seem slow and confusing
  • Some of our hints and guides seems to be too subtle

We are working on these issues now and hope you will bear with us.
