Hello there!
Welcome to the first dev blog of Born of Bread! Are you ‘’bready’’ for the release on December 5th? Loaf and his buddies can’t wait to meet you in the frosty winter! 🥶

The ''bready'' recipe actually came from our idea to make a ''fun & quirky'' RPG after our first published game – Helltown in 2017. At that time, we replayed some of the classics, taking inspiration from Paper Mario in particular: The Thousand Year Door!
As time went on, we had a lot of discussions about how to develop and twist the 'Paper RPG formula' based on these classics. We started creating funny characters, one of which you can see everywhere - Loaf, and then the other party members.

[h3]Fun & Light-hearted play style! [/h3]
Born of Bread isn't just about meeting buddies and solving quests. There’s a lot more to it than you can imagine.
In the game, you can pet any animals that you encounter! For example, you can pet a dog and... a panda! 🐼


Playing as Loaf, you will meet a wonderful cast of buddies on your journey. They all have their own personalities, special abilities, favourite pastimes, and foods! Get to know them better this winter!
In the game, each Buddy's special ability can help you explore the map and unlock different locations for your quests!

Taking Lint (the raccoon) as an example, after he gets lost, Loaf and Papa Baker are the first people he meets. If you played the demo, you’ll see that he decided to join them on their adventure and hopefully find his family but there is so much more for you to discover about his relationship with his other buddies!

Combat actions are represented by button commands. For example, if you want to attack and deal extra damage to your enemies, you will need to press and hold that button at a specific time!
This means you can't just press an action and wait for the character to do the rest. You must pay attention and try to follow the instructions, otherwise you may not be able to win the battle!

There is another interesting mechanic called ‘’Battle Broadcast’’.
If you have a lot of viewers and do well in the fight, you'll receive helpful bonuses from the Battle Broadcast to help you out in a pinch.
The battle will be broadcast and moderated by Dub to the NPCs you'll meet along the way. As you can see from the chat, they will be constantly commenting on the action in a fun and hilarious way. In addition, if you have a large audience and perform well in combat, you can earn useful rewards that can help you in times of need.
As you can see, Dub is hard-working and dedicated to his job...
