Demo Update: Watering Can, Colored Labels, And Zoom!

Dear Horticulturists,

With Autumn in full swing, we felt like it was the perfect time for some of the cozy vibes Strange Horticulture has to offer. That's why we've updated the demo for your plant-identifying pleasure. Here's what's new in the updated demo:

 • Watering can that allows you to water your plants to earn Will to Explore rather than having to wait for the cooldown.
 • Coloured labels for extra organising.
 • Zoom in/out feature for players who were struggling to read.
 • Language support for German, Russian and Chinese.
 • A whole bunch of other small fixes and improvements.

Can't run a proper plant shop without a watering can. You can now give your lovely plants the H2O they deserve, while earning you Will to Explore -- it's a win-win!

Colored labels will allow you to properly sort plants into categories. How are you going to use them?

Try out the update for yourself, and let us know what you think!

NEW Trailer + Steam Next Fest Demo Update!

Dear Horticulturists,

We're happy to see that many of you have been enjoying our demo so far. We've been tinkering away at the game, and have some exciting new things to share.

First, a proper introduction to Undermere and the story of Strange Horticulture through an all-new trailer! What does the Horticulturist do exactly, and what is happening in and around Undermere?

Proper spooky. We hope you enjoyed that as much as we do!
Steam Next Fest - Demo Update
And that's not all. We've updated our demo with some features and tweaks that were suggested by those of you who gave the previous demo a try.

Changelog

 • More clues to find the correct plants early on, making it easier to identify them.
 • Added an intro page to the encyclopedia to explain what it is and how it should be used.
 • Reworked the 'game over' state. The day no longer fully resets upon getting 3 plants wrong. Instead, you will be given a simple puzzle to solve, after which you'll be back to your last checkpoint.
 • Added more hints. For example, if you haven't explored yet by the time you need a certain plant, a hint will pop up.
 • You can now drag labels to the plants as well as the other way around.
 • You can now enable auto-labeling in the settings. This will label any plant you've identified.

There were a few more small changes, but these are the highlights. Thank you for all of your feedback, it's been invaluable!

Also, keep your eye on our store page if you're interested in a little panel where we chat about the game for about an hour -- it's worth the watch!

And of course, if you have any more feedback, feel free to post it on the Steam forums, or join us on Discord!
