ShapeVS 0.4 - Shape Tag is Live!

ShapeVS 0.4 Update is now live!

Featuring Shape Tag, this game is the first game designed by someone else on the team and we are eager to get feedback from the players.

The main difference is that it doesn't feature power-ups and is entirely focused on movement and outsmarting your opponents.

As always we will monitor any bugs that other people may detect and you can always follow us on our socials to keep up to date!

Shape Tag and 0.4 Update

Hey, testers!

Hopefully, 2023 has been a good year so far, it certainly has been for us here at ShapeTECH. They recently let some of the scientists out for a whole 20 minutes during the day. Have you heard of the sun? The big green thing in the sky?

Anyway enough about that, we are currently putting the final touches on the Shape Tag and 0.4 update to ShapeVS. We are putting the final touches on bug fixing and level designs before we go to more internal testing. The current ETA for the update is the end of this week so hopefully, we can just squash these last issues. (EDIT: Management wishes to remind testers we are talking about bugs and not the ShapeTECH devs)



It's crazy to think that since launch we have nearly doubled the content in the game. Do note that with the launch of this update, we will be looking at our first price increase. Something about management needing to pay the bills or such.



A cool note is that one of the maps is based on a game jam game that one of the devs did during the "virus" times. A simple game of tag taken to the next level!

We are also still working on the customisation updates and due to workloads/bugs, we are going to push it back just a little bit til we can sort out the issue around taunts. This might be done in time for 0.4 but want to just keep you all informed!

ShapeVS 2023 Roadmap Update!

Ayo everyone!

The ShapeVS dev team is here on behalf of ShapeTECH to talk about the updates coming to ShapeVS over the next few months. As always thank you for your support and the positive reception to Shape Flag, we are aware of some issues that managed to sneak through testing and are working on patching those very soon. But without further adieu here is our updated roadmap for 2023:



Q1 is going to be another focus on getting the game done in time, we are extending the development time for the games, as to allow the other aspects (testing, audio and such) to have more time to get ready. We currently have Shape Tag in the works and are looking forward to showing that off very soon.

Another big focus will be the basics of the customisation options, as we have shared previously the game has a variety of taunts to showcase friends, family and other references around the ShapeVS team. We aim for this to be part of one of the Q1 updates or at least be built ready to go in.

Q2 is much the same and you will notice this with Q3 as well. With a big focus on making the games we need. A big thing we want to do as well as a performance refactor to help with certain problems that can sometimes arise, whilst not consistent we do notice some issues on lower-end machines and just need to tie up some loose ends there.

We also have our Other Goals, which we would like to achieve over the next 12 months but aren’t locked down to a date. We hope to have more updates as time progresses but for now, know that we are working with some fantastic people in the industry to make these dreams a reality.

Another key announcement is that as previously mentioned as the game's content expands we are looking into pricing the game accordingly. Please note that we will always communicate with you before this happens and hopefully have a sale to allow those who want to pick it up before the increase.

Looking forward to our Shape Tag update coming soon! Til then we will be returning to our stations. Subject 12 has caused a few issues here…

ShapeVS 0.3v (New Year Notes)

And it's finally here! Sorry for the delay, the holiday period does this to people. See below the notes for the ShapeVS 0.3 update. Mainly including game six, Shape Flag, and some other small changes!

Additions:

  • Added Game Six, Shape Flag, to the pool of games!


Changes:

  • Fixed values not always saving when in the options menu
  • Added names to credits
  • Slight fixes around movement mechanics to avoid input eating
  • Win quotes changed to be more random (feel free to suggest quotes in the community page or Discord)
  • Better implementation of game bases for future updates


Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the Shape Zone music was not playing correctly
  • Fixed an issue where the SFX in some games wasn’t always playing correctly
  • Fixed an issue where you could move around in the Shape Zone prep phase


As always game development is an iterative process, so we have begun work on the next update and will hopefully have the 2023 road map out soon. Again if there are any issues with the update please post here on our Discord.

0.3 Delay!

Hey, a quick update from the team here!

Due to some post-holiday movements and surprises (the key phrase here being SURPRISES), we will have to delay the update by like a week.

We hope to finalise the update mid-next week to roll out!
