Unleashing the Advent: Strategies for Dominating in Sins of a Solar Empire II

The Advent war machine has returned with a vengeance, catching both the Traders and their Vasari adversaries off guard and opening a new front in the ongoing intergalactic war. Unlike their rivals, the Advent employ a more subtle approach to conquest, utilizing psychological warfare, religious indoctrination, and powerful psychic abilities as they expand their reach across the galaxy.

At the forefront of their strategy is a fleet of high-tech warships—lightly armored yet heavily shielded and armed with a lethal mix of missile, beam, and PsiTech-infused weapon systems. The Advent's battle doctrine emphasizes synergy among ship types, creating a combined arms force that delivers combat power far exceeding the sum of its parts. Mastering the Advent requires careful micro-management and timing, but the rewards are immense.
Key Strategies

Rapid Expansion and Resource Capture
The Advent Reborn’s Rite of Reclamation allows for swift Derelict capture, with the Halcyon Carrier leading the charge. Its PD Lasers and strikecraft can clear guardian fleets with ease, providing valuable resources and experience early in the game. If you opt for the Rapture Battlecruiser instead, its Domination Ability can quickly capture guarding Siege Frigates, enabling rapid colonization.
Tactical Maneuvering
The Tempest Vessel, an early-game Light Missile Frigate, excels in hit-and-run tactics. With a 360-degree firing arc and the ability to fire on the move, it can chase down damaged ships while retreating from danger. Meanwhile, the Iconius Guardian’s Shield Projection ability enhances the shields of nearby allies, allowing the Advent to absorb significant damage.
Overwhelming Enemy Forces
When facing Heavy Cruisers, consider the Domina Subjugator, which can temporarily deactivate enemy ships, or the Exoria Illuminator, which fields devastating long-range weapons. The Advent’s Recall Unity Ability allows for quick strikes followed by rapid retreats, while the Radiance Battlecruiser’s Animosity Ability can pin down fleeing enemy ships.
Locking Down Titans
To disable enemy Titans, deploy multiple Radiance Battleships to cycle through their Silence and Detonate Antimatter Abilities. This strategy simplifies the process of taking down powerful foes. Additionally, the Coronata Titan’s Repossession ability can convert entire colonies, ignoring planetary shields, posing a dire threat to opponents.
Sacrificial Empowerment
The Eradica Titan benefits from the Strength of the Fallen ability, which increases its damage output based on fallen comrades. An Advent player could sacrifice cheap Corvettes to empower this Titan, making it a formidable force on the battlefield. Its ultimate ability, Unyielding Will, allows it to regenerate antimatter rapidly as it takes damage, increasing its destructive power.
Conclusion
The Advent may appear fragile at first glance, but their meticulously crafted fleets conceal a terrifying strength. By strategically applying their diverse abilities, players can unleash the full potential of the Advent in combat. As you embark on your journey in Sins of a Solar Empire II, remember these strategies and let the Unity guide your conquests. Woe betide those who stand in your way!

Ship Series: The Advent Progenitor Mothership

The Progenitor Mothership is another core capital ship of the Advent fleet. Equipped not only with ‘colonization’ (read: occupation) pods, the Progenitor also employs more than a thousand Psintegrat that allows the Unity to practically bend reality to their will. Despite the versatility of its abilities, the Progenitor is not designed to be a front-line unit like the Radiance Battleship. Instead, it helps to augment and support Advent forces from a distance.
Armament
• 2 x Heavy Plasma Cannons (forward)
 • 2 x Point-Defense Laser Turrets (forward)
 • 7 x Heavy Laser Cannon Turrets (forward)
 • Support for 1-3 Squadrons of Anima Drones
Progenitor Abilities
• Colonize: Sends administrators, security forces, intelligence experts and other personnel to an unowned planet to establish control.
 • Shield Regeneration: The Progenitor channels energy to regenerate the shields of itself and nearby friendly targets over time.
 • Unity Meditation (Passive): The crew of the Progenitor meditates on their place within the Advent, granting bonus Unity points.
 • Rebirth: Psintegrat within the Progenitor harmonize the Unity to resurrect some of your destroyed corvettes, frigates and cruisers within the current gravity well.
 • Offensive Upgrade Options
 • Plasma Agitator: Rotating magnetic fields are used to agitate plasma into a higher energy state prior to firing. This increases the damage of plasma weapons and the PBC.
 • Vex Amplifier: Adds a PsiTech emitter which is powered by the hatred and rage of the crew, improving weapon rate of fire. Affected by Psi power.
 • Energy Accelerator: Advanced field control technology is used to contain and accelerate the bolts and beams of all energy weapons, enhancing range and damage.
Defensive Upgrade Options
• Structural Force Fields: Advanced failsafe force fields are installed in order to rapidly close hull breaches and hold the ship together when it suffers extreme damage.
 • Synchronous Shield: Secondary shield generators can be brought into alignment to generate positive harmonic frequencies, increasing shield points and shield burst magnitude.
 • PsiKinetic Plating: The Progenitor's PsiTech armor is hardened by telekinetic fields, improving armor strength. Enhanced by Psi power.
 • Consecration Inducer: Adds an intricate, PsiTech energy adapter designed to channel the euphor1ic energy of the crew directly into the shield generator, restoring shield points based on the Psi Power of the crew.
Utility Upgrade Options
• Guiding Mentor: Grants a bonus to experience to friendly ships that are lower in level within the same gravity well.
 • Harmony Circuit: Adds a special PsiTech circuit to the ship’s systems, increasing Psi power. Can be activated to increase the Psi power of a targeted friendly ship.
 • Psionic Dynamo: Integrates a psionic power booster into the ship. Each time the Progenitor uses an ability, the crew gains a stacking bonus to Psi power for a moderate duration.
 • Brilliance Array: An advanced PsiTech device that channels the mental energy of the crew into the power systems of nearby allied vessels. Increases antimatter regeneration for all nearby ships based on the Psi power of the ship this item is fitted to.
 • Essence Reservoir: This PsiTech device uses the grace of the purified Unity to capture the souls from the crew of nearby friendly ships when they are destroyed, granting a stacking bonus to Psi power.

Mastering the Vasari: A Tactical Guide to Sins of a Solar Empire II
The Vasari are not just a faction; they are a relentless force of nature, honed by centuries of survival against an all-consuming nightmare. Their martial prowess is both terrifying and effective, blending asymmetric warfare tactics with advanced Phase Space technology. If you’re looking to elevate your gameplay in Sins of a Solar Empire II, you’ve come to the right place. Today, we’ll explore some of the Vasari’s most potent strategies that will make you a commander to be feared.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
The Jikara Navigator: More Than Just a Scout
At first glance, the Jikara Navigator appears to be a standard scout ship, but don’t underestimate its versatility. This spammable unit can serve as reliable Point Defence (PD) for your early-game fleets, effectively neutralizing threats from pesky Javalis LRM Cruisers sent by neutral guardian fleets. Once the Sulsurak Defensor and Junsurk Warden come into play, the Jikara can return to its primary role of scouting enemy formations. This adaptability allows you to maintain a strong presence on the battlefield while keeping your options open.
Synergizing Debuff Auras: Kortul and Serevun
When it comes to fleet engagements, stacking debuffs is crucial. The Kortul Devastator’s Jam Weapons ability pairs beautifully with the Serevun Overseer’s Intimidating Presence, creating a formidable wall of damage reduction. This synergy not only prolongs the life of your nimble Corvettes and Frigates but also allows you to maintain pressure on your opponent, forcing them into a corner. With reduced enemy fire rates and tracking speeds, your fleet can dance around incoming fire while dealing damage.
Corvette Mastery: Regeneration and Speed
Vasari Corvettes shine when equipped with regeneration and speed buffs. Investing in Shield, Armor, and Hull regeneration technologies, combined with the Skirantra Carrier’s Repair Cloud, transforms these agile ships into a swarm that’s nearly impossible to shake off. Your enemies will find it increasingly difficult to deal with these nimble vessels, especially when they’re constantly regenerating and darting around the battlefield.
Volatile Nanites: Chain Reactions of Destruction
The Kortul Devastator’s Volatile Nanites ability is a game-changer, inflicting a curse that increases damage taken by enemy ships and triggers devastating chain reactions upon their destruction. Pair this with the Jarasul Evacuator’s Subspace Rapture, and you’ve got a recipe for chaos. Watching enemy ships explode one by one, taking out nearby vessels in a spectacular display, can turn a skirmish into a rout, leaving your foes reeling.
Relentless Pursuit: Chasing Down Fleeing Ships
Engaging the Vasari can be incredibly frustrating, especially when they turn a retreat into a massacre. The Jarasul Evacuator’s Gravity Warhead slows down fleeing ships, allowing your fast-moving Corvettes and Frigates to close in for the kill. Coupled with the Antorak Marauder’s Distort Gravity ability, your enemies will struggle to escape while your forces speed up, ensuring that no ship gets away unscathed.
Raiding Mastery: Phase Resonance Technology
The Vasari’s Phase Resonance technology empowers them as devastating raiders. By jumping in and out of a Gravity Well, you can exploit various buffs to gain a significant advantage over larger enemy fleets. While this playstyle may be challenging for newcomers, mastering it can lead to devastating results. The bonuses to ship mobility, weapons firing rate, and antimatter regeneration allow you to take on foes much larger than your own fleet, turning the tables in your favor.
Conclusion: The Vasari Are a Force to Be Reckoned With
The Vasari are not just a faction; they are a masterclass in asymmetric warfare. With a deep well of sneaky tricks and strategies at their disposal, they keep opponents guessing and on their toes. Their mastery of Phase Space technology allows for a variety of playstyles, ensuring that no two games are ever the same. Whether you’re raiding, chasing down enemies, or overwhelming foes with superior tactics, the Vasari command respect. Dive in, experiment with these strategies, and carve your path to victory in Sins of a Solar Empire II!
