Lost Eidolons – Official Launch Day Recap

Hello everyone,

Thank you for playing the game on day one of release!
It was a busy day with the stream, taking feedback from the community, and discussing the next steps internally! While it was a very smooth launch, we did find a few issues and took some feedback from the community. Here are some of the feedback and issues we received.
Please note: we have a bigger list in review and only sharing items that have been discussed and have immediate next steps.

 • Turn Limit: We got some feedback on having hard turn limits on all battles. While the creative director and the team had intended the turn limit, we considered the need of the community, as well as the fact that the change won’t go against our design philosophy of the game. So we are currently talking to the team to check on the technical feasibility. However, our “undo” feature takes up memory logging every single move you make, and this can potentially cause an issue if we completely remove the turn limits. So, we will do a very close review to finalize the plan. Once we have a detailed action item firmed up, we will be sure to communicate with you! But do know that we heard you and are trying to support the need of, “wanting to play the battle without any pressure coming from turn limits”!
 • PS4 and PS5 Controllers Not Working: We are reviewing this issue and will come up with a fix very soon!
 • Subtitle Font Size: We had many players tell us that the size of the font is too small and want to have the option to freely change them. This seems possible to support very soon, and we will provide this QoL update as soon as it is ready.
 • Displaying EXP Window After Each Attack: There were reports that some players do not want to see EXP progression pop up after each attack, and so we are looking to implement the option to turn it on/off.
 • Designed Cursor: This was one small feedback, but we agreed it would be cool to update the cursor design to fit the game’s visual! We will be working on it!
 • Infinite Loading Screen: Few players experienced infinite loading when starting the game, and while some fixed the issue by repairing the game on Steam we are looking into the issue to find the root cause. - this has been fixed with hotfix
 • Ultrawide Screen Support: There were requests asking for ultrawide screen support, which we will look into. We will provide an update on our plans soon.
 • WASD Camera Control Key Binding Gets Reset: This report was that when you bind camera control keys to other keys from WASD, it gets reset every time you run the game again. We will fix the issue ASAP.

We are very grateful to have finally released the game and happy to get your feedback, both positive and negative.

Please continue to share your feedback, we will do whatever it takes to further improve Lost Eidolons!

A Letter from Ocean Drive Studio: Official Release and Beyond

Hello everyone!

It’s launch day! We have been working on the game for the past 3 years, patiently waiting for today to come! We want to share our sincere gratitude for supporting the game and being part of the community! (If you are reading this, you are a part of our lovely community!)

Not sure if we have said this before, but we are a team of passionate turn-based RPG fans. We tried to create something we wanted to play and we think we achieved our mission 99%. No, it’s not 100% yet, and starting today we are going to work on a few more things we couldn’t implement prior to the release on top of fixing issues we find post-release.

So, let us discuss our plans going forward. We hope to break down the plan into three different categories: Game Content, Communication and QoL Improvement, and Platform Expansion.

[Game Content]

We want this game to be something you can play over and over again. If you play the current game, you might play the game for 50-60 hours and probably be able to say, “I am done!” So our goal for the next major update (yes, we are calling it a “major” update) is going to be focused on making you stick with the game for a longer period of time.

We are currently planning a “New Game Plus” mode and hoping to have this update in a few months (cannot guarantee the timing yet but we are going to try!). A detailed design review is underway for this, and we believe we can share more details of this very soon.

Another thing we are looking to do is the development of “Debug” mode AKA “Challenge” mode. And if we secure big enough of a player base, “Online Multiplayer” mode! But these are just rough ideas at the moment so please don’t take this as confirmed future plan!

The above updates will be free if we execute them!

We also have plans for paid DLC – creating a 5-7 hours story campaign focused on other characters around Eden, our protagonist of Lost Eidolons. We don’t have a detailed schedule on this yet but let us know if you’d like to see the story DLCs happen! We will get to work!

[Communication and QoL Improvements]

Even after the release of the game, we will continue to communicate with you to get feedback on the game and will be making improvements as we have been doing! Bugs will be taken care of, balance issues will be investigated, and most importantly--we will review all the quality-of-life improvement feedback to make gradual improvements. Our commitment to transparency does not end with the release of the game, and we will share updates with you whenever possible.

So, please make sure to join our Discord to chat with us about the game: https://discord.gg/zQ6W38nxRR
And please report any bugs you see on our Feature Upvote board, along with any suggestions you have to improve the game. You can also vote on others' suggestions to help prioritize the community's most important topics!
https://losteidolons.featureupvote.com/

We have already taken feedback from the content creators and editors/reviewers. So here’s a list of things we’re now looking into:

 • Make optional battles more fun and engaging since they are currently repetitive and not as fun.
 • Add more tips and event dialogues to provide more guidance.
 • More QoL improvements, such as the ability to change the size of cutscene subtitles and more options for controllers.

[Platform Expansion]

As you might already know, we are working on an Xbox Series S and X version of the game! Currently, we are aiming for Q1 2023. We learned a lot from the previous Xbox Insider test, and we plan to release a better-optimized game. Many of you have asked us about Game Pass, and for now, the only thing we can say is we don’t know yet and that we want to be on the Game Pass so that we can have more people play the game!

We will share more detailed information about the Xbox version of the game soon.

Also, we want to share that our goal is to be on as many platforms as possible. We are reviewing porting the game to PlayStation and Switch even though only Xbox is a lock for now.

We believe this is the only beginning of our journey. The more support we get for Lost Eidolons, the higher the chance we can invest more into the game and work on a sequel. So far, the support and love we got from the community have been amazing.

Truly, we thank you.

Let’s talk more soon!

The Tactician's Guide to Artemesia #7
Changes Since Beta
Hello, Tacticians!

From the Kickstarter campaign to our launch on October 13, we’ve come a long way, and we would like to thank everyone that’s supported us from day one. If you have been with us since the beginning, you’ve seen how Lost Eidolons has undergone countless improvements, and your feedback has been tremendously helpful in that process.

Today, we would like to highlight some major changes we’ve made since the Betas.
The look:
First and foremost, we’ve made huge changes to how our game looks and feels, from the start screens, to the battlemaps, and even the user interface in the settings menu. We’ve also made numerous visual changes to how the story and dialogue is presented in the game’s main campaign.

Start screen in Beta 1:

And now:

The battlefield is another area where we’ve put a lot of focus. In addition to gameplay and visual changes too numerous to count, the development team has radically overhauled the battle UI.
Languages
Another aspect of the game you might not notice is the fact that we’ve added language support for several languages. We now support the following languages:
Voiceover
As mentioned in a previous post, we’ve had some serious help from some serious actors to give our game the audio treatment it deserved.

A few of our major standouts are:

Stephen Fu as Eden
Jennifer Losi as Klara
Chris Tergliafera as Balastar
Keith Silverstein as Gilbert
Brittny Cox as Marchelle
Colleen O’Shaughnesssey as Andrea
Billy Kametz and Ricco Fajardo as Robin

…And so much more!

The game has undergone way too many changes to include in a short post like this, as you’ll see for yourself once you play it. From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to thank the community for the role you’ve played in the game’s development. Your feedback, whether positive or negative, has been instrumental to us in getting the game to the highest level of quality we can, and we hope that you’ll enjoy the results.

See you all on the battlefield!
