Playtests Start TODAY!

Hello, fellow mechanics!

Today’s the big day. The public playtest starts today at around 4 PM CET (about an hour from now). We’ve talked plenty about the features the build will have, so if you’d like to go over them once again, read this entry. Now, let’s talk about the schedule.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
11.01 - The Start
We’ll make the public playtest build available to the public. All of the people who have requested access to the test should have it granted. The game will most likely be up for at least a few days.

We’ll then see whether we’ll need to take the game down. It depends on the feedback we’ll get. If it requires to be extensively worked on, it will become unavailable for a couple of days and will be restored at a later date. On the other hand, if it performs well, we expect to keep it up.
18.01 - The Second Batch
At this date, we expect to grant access to the rest of the people who will have applied to take part after 11.01. This is going to happen if we decide to take the build down temporarily. If not, then we’ll be consistently granting access to all that will be applying while the test is in progress.

As there’s no conclusion yet, make sure to join our Discord server and follow our Twitter to be up to date. It’s also crucial from our point of view to have you there, as we’ve created special sections for sharing your feedback.
22.01 - The End
On this date, we expect to close the public playtest. This should be sufficient time to get plenty of feedback, so we can polish the demo to a satisfying level. We also believe that this will be sufficient time for you to have loads of fun with the game and it won’t be surprising if you manage to beat it a couple of times.

One more thing to add - we’ll have a small questionnaire by the end of the game. Please, fill it out and send it to us. We wanna use this knowledge to make Rally Mechanic Simulator as good as it gets!

More updates will follow in the future. By now, though, play the game, have fun and share your feedback. Have a good one!

Sign up for the playtests!

As we’ve been saying for a short while, the public playtests are almost here. We’ve opened signing up for them on our Steam product page, so head there and click the "Request Access" button to take part!

Let’s quickly go through the features that will be present in the playtest:
 • Garage- will be where you’ll have access to parts, and fixing machines and you’ll be able to prepare your car for the rallies.
 • 2 rallies - a tarmac one with a single stage and a gravel one with 2 stages.
 • Service park - a tent where you can fix your car during the rallies mentioned above.
 • A single car - inspired by a Japanese rally legend, sporting a 4-cylinder boxer engine.
 • “Live radio” commentary on the rally.
 • 2 minigames - the stuff like tire balancing and putting tires on the rims is going to be represented by a fun and simple minigame.
 • Tutorial - just to make sure that you’ll be able to work on the car and take part in rallies.
 • And, of course, the possibility to tinker with your car!

This is going to be enough gameplay for about an hour and a half. This will definitely scratch your itch for some mechanical sim fun. Also, what’s important is that this is still a relatively early build and your purpose is to… Have at it! Aside from having a good time, we also want to get into every nook and cranny of RMS and try to flip it on its head. If you do, we’ll be able to make a more stable game overall and a better demo.

We strongly encourage you to report all of the bugs and glitches that you find to our Discord server or the Steam forum. We really want to make the game as polished as it gets and plenty of data will help us, that’s for sure.

Speaking of the demo…

The plans for the immediate future include introducing heaps of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements to the main build of the game. We’ve also been working on a demo which will be released for the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Hope you’ll like it! A couple of months after that, we aim to release Rally Mechanic Simulator in Early Access.

So, tl;dr

Have a good one, cheers!

2023 Summary & Big Plans For 2024

Hello fellow mechanic!

This year has been a wild ride for us. Rally Mechanic Simulator has taken a tangible form and you’ll soon be able to give it a shot during the upcoming playtests. However, it was a busy year for us - we’ve done so much work on the game, we were almost surprised when we were preparing the list of our accomplishments. We’ll present it below and, what’s more interesting, we’ll share our plans for the future.
What was done this year
• Entire gameplay loop - choosing a rally, taking part in it, working in the garage.
 • Car upgrade system.
 • In-game parts store.
 • Car customization system.
 • Bodywork damage system.
 • The commentary system - you’ll hear it on the radio during the rallies.
 • Introduction of parts and assets like garage upgrades that will allow you to progress in the game.
 • Plenty of other stuff.

We’ve also made plenty of great art and assets, some of which you can have a look at now!

All of this is absolutely necessary for the game to be fun and work well. There are still quite a lot of things we need to make and milestones we have to reach. However, we’re able to say with confidence that this was a good year for the team and we’re close to three next big steps. Let’s talk about the future, then.
2024 is going to be great!
There will be plenty of opportunities to give Rally Mechanic Simulator a shot in the upcoming few months.

Firstly, there are the upcoming playtests. We’re still working on the game, trying to polish it and to have it in the state we want it to be. The tests are of great importance to us, as we’d love you to enjoy the game and provide feedback regarding it - suggestions, bugs, ideas, and anything goes. The tests will most likely last for a fixed amount of time, so if you wanna give RMS a shot and share your thoughts on the game, you better not miss out on it! The tests will feature the garage and two rallies with a service park at your disposal. The rallies will differ from each other to show a substantial glimpse of what to expect from the game.

Secondly, we expect to release a demo for the upcoming Steam Next Fest in February. It will not be time-limited like the test and will remain up indefinitely. It will definitely be a more extensive build of the game and we’re sure you’ll love it. You’ll be able to play in about 2 months! The demo will feature a couple of hours' worth of gameplay, so you’ll definitely scratch your itch until the next release… :)

Thirdly, and this is the really big one, we’ll release the Early Access version of Rally Mechanic Simulator around the middle of 2024! You’ll be able to purchase and play the game, while we’ll be delivering and polishing more and more stuff. This will lead to a full release in the future. We really hope for your support from day one!

To finish it off, here’s a statement from the dev team:
We’re extremely happy that we’re able to show you the effect of our hard work in the upcoming weeks and months. We really hope that you’ll take part in creating Rally Mechanic Simulator with us, so we ask you to share each piece of feedback, problem and suggestion you may have. Our ultimate goal is to create a game that will bring fun and joy to both you and us!

That’s all for this entry. So, 2023 was good. But 2024 is going to be absolutely massive for Rally Mechanic Simulator with the upcoming releases. Keep an eye out on our social media and Steam page to follow the upcoming releases. You can also join our Discord server and share your ideas on what to introduce to the game. Cheers!
