Content Update #4 - The Essence of Life

Hey everyone!
We're super proud to let you know about the release of your 4th Content Update. Dig right into new story pieces that explore the relationship between our protagonist and his demonic companion. We're also adding new HQ to rest between missions and new gameplay mechanics. Read on below!





Expanded Prologue

Explore the origin story of Rene and his connection to Lady Bliss in this new, two-part story mission. You'll venture below Paris into the dark corridors of the Catacombs and explore the mysterious life force that seeps through the rocks below. If you started your journey with Liberte before, don't worry - playing this prologue will not reset your story progress or unlocked cards.





New Player HQ

Earn new place to rest and recover your strength, worthy of someone chosen by otherworldly gods. Plus, it comes with your own cult followers and some dark secrets to uncover! Fans of the previous HQ - The Theater - don't fret - it will return in the future as part of an important story mission!





The Offerings

Get an advantage over your adversaries with this new buff system. Every time Rene is reborn, you'll get a chance to partake choose a buff that will last throughout your life. These can increase your combat proficiency, let you start the game with bonus cards, or make it easier to find more crafting materials!

Content Update #3 - New Mission, New Cards, New Enemies and more!



Welcome to our Content Update #3!

This month, we've got a lot of new, interesting stuff for you to try. New mission (our best yet!), new enemies to tackle, new cards to collect. Lets dig in!



Brand New Features


New Mission - The People's Court
We're super proud of this brand new mission. You'll be able to side with the Crown or the Tribe to restore justice to the chaos-stricken City. Climb the Parisian rooftops, visit the village of Montmarte and assemble a Court to put enemies of the People on trial.

New Enemy in The Tribe - The Bird Catcher.
This new mysterious Tribe member uses his trusty winged companions to confuse his enemies. Watch out, those birds have sharp beaks!

New Enemy in The Crown - Agent of the Crown.
Elite agents of the Crown have joined the fray to turn the tide of the revolution to his majesty's side. They use surprise attacks with their sharp rapiers to score a hit before their enemies even know they're coming. When things go south, their smoke bomb gadgets allow them to escape without getting hit.

Added 4 new Quest reward cards
Depending on whom you'll side with in this brand-new mission, you'll get a chance to get one of 4 new reward cards that augment your fighting abilities.







Changes and Improvements


Mission Intro dialogues are now optional and can be started by talking with characters on the bridge.
We made this little change to make the game flow faster for expert players, and to give some extra context to those who want to deep into the story.

In singleplayer, you can now quit the game mid-run and resume it later, from the start of your current mission.
With the run duration growing quickly with each update, this was a must have! When playing offline games, you'll now be able to quit mid-game and return to the same mission after you come back.

Instead of spawning more soldiers, Crown Officer's flare will now summon a mortar strike.
Battles with Crown Officers were getting a little too overcrowded. Instead of summoning endless reinforcements, they now have an ability to use artillery to bring their enemies into submission.

Melee skills will now grant Player brief stagger resistance when used.
A little buff for our melee Players - melee skills will now give you a short period of invincibility when used. No more interrupts!

Newly found blueprints cards will now show as a golden drop during game.
Before, new card blueprints were awarded based on your mission progress only after returning to the Theater. Now, they will appear as gold drops during missions, so you know instantly when you've gotten a shiny reward!

Player can now hold up to 30 Cards in his inventory.
Need to keep some cards for late game? No problem. Inventory size has been expanded to 30 slots.

La Voisin will now walk towards the Player when casting Missile Swarm.
This little buff has been suggested by Kris from our community. La Voisin will now be more formidable to fight and ducking behind a fence will no longer save you from trouble!

Improved Quest Tracker Compass to be more consistent.
Quest tracker is now snappier and points to objectives more consistently. No more confusion!


Bugfixes

We've got some of these too. Thank you to all who submitted bug reports on Steam or our Discord!
  • Fixed a bug that could make Player become unable to turn around and attack.
  • Fixed a bug where Player would sometimes turn the wrong direction standing high up and attacking.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing black holes to appear in the ground.
  • Some enemy Skills will again be properly limited by their level.
  • Soldiers gained during Lamballe mission will no longer go with you to next acts.
  • Fixed visual glitches in Crafting UI
  • Fixed endless water appearing under the map for clients in online play.
  • At the Mercy of The Gods can now bo completed if you throw the gas bomb before killing the robbers.

Patch 0.6.1 - New Cards, New Places, New Challenges


👋 Hey Everyone!

Patch 0.6.1 is up! We’ve improved the Bliss Curse system, added new cards for your melee decks and new areas for the Medical Supplies mission.

We’ve also fixed a few bugs related to leaderboards, card inventory and others. Check out the new cards and full patch notes below!

What's next? We've already started work on a new brand new mission, where The Tribe clashes with The Crown over the rights of the people! Coming early April in the next Content Update!

Fixed a bug where closing inventory while card animation is playing would cancel the card.

Content Update #2 is Live!



👋 Hey everyone! New Content patch is live!

[h2]Bliss Curses[/h2]
This time, we’re bringing in new, challenging game mechanics - the Bliss Curses. As you venture further into the city, the eerie presence of Lady Bliss begins to twist it’s inhabitants, granting them new, unhuman powers.

When a Bliss Curse becomes active, it stays active until the end of the run. These curses give extra abilities to your opponents, so you will have to use a new strategy to defeat them. A few examples:

- Curse of the Leeches - Enemies restore health when they damage a player.
- Curse of the Tower - Enemies can only be damaged from the back.
- Curse of the Infestation - Enemies decompose into pools of maggots upon death. Maggots follow the player attempting to devour him.
- Curse of the Living Death - Enemies turn into Zombies after being killed. They hunger their killers blood.

You can choose to start the game with up to 5 random curses active. Each active curse makes the game more challenging, but also increases drop chances for rare resources.

We’re also adding global leaderboards for 3 highest difficulty levels. Compete for the fastest clear time and show us your mastery of the Bliss!

We’ve added two new cards aimed at adding some extra power to end-game melee decks - Break-in and Mercy Killing.

New Challenges Coming Soon



👋 Hey everyone! A lot of you suggested they would like the end-game to be more difficult. To create this extra optional challenge, we’ll be introducing Bliss Curses.

Bliss Curses are strong, persistent effects that change how you play the game. When a curse is activated, is stays active until the end of the run. These curses give extra abilities to your opponents, so you will have to use a new strategy to defeat them. A few examples:

  • Curse of the Leeches - Enemies restore 30 health when they damage a player.
  • Curse of the Tower - Enemies can only be damaged from the back.
  • Curse of the Infestation - Enemies decompose into pools of maggots upon death. Maggots follow the player attempting to devour him.
  • Curse of the Living Death - Enemies turn into Zombies after being killed. They hunger their killers blood.


Players will be able to choose to start the game with up to 6 random curses active. Each active curse increases the amount of resources dropped by the enemies. We’re also looking to add separate Leaderboards for each difficulty to see who can clear the game the fastest with most curses active.

This mechanic is coming in patch 0.6.0, scheduled for early next week.
