This is our first news post in almost a year, woo!! Please look forward to these regularly becoming a thing from now on. We’re so happy that we have such a passionate community on our Discord, but we want to show some love to the fine folks following FREERIDE on Steam, too.

Here, you can anticipate a monthly update on the state of the game and maaaybe other surprises! We’re going to have fun with this.

First things first: This year we’ve been included in the upcoming ‘Storytellers Festival’, kicking off on the 29th Jan (hey, that’s today)! It’s amazing to be featured alongside so many other gorgeous narrative games.

The timing couldn’t be better because, believe it or not, it’s now been ONE WHOLE YEAR since the release of the FREERIDE demo!! It's been the joy of a lifetime to see over THIRTY THOUSAND of you face judgment (big love to all you Clowns out there - you have a special place in our hearts 🤡). The team is so happy and grateful for the support, it really helps keep us motivated as we push on to the finish line!


On that note – we’ve recently finished the story implementation of Act 2 and the Intermission, which is the biggest part of the game.
Because you deserve a treat, here’s some brand new concept art from those areas:



I also wanted to share the results of last year’s Act 2 Character Design contests on the Discord – you can see the concept art and how these characters look in the game!

We’re currently developing Act 3 and then will move on to Act 4 (aka, THE FINAL ACT!!). Also, I'm glad to confirm that we’re on schedule for release!! (Though we’ll keep our release date secret for just a while longer, sorryyy~)
