Broken Arrow - New Gameplay Video

The developers at Steel Balalaika have been hard at work during all of 2022 so far. Their hard work is paying off, and the game is turning out to be a real jewel.

We can't wait to show you more, and we are pleased to announce that soon we will be resuming our developer diaries series.

In the meantime, we have decided to prepare a new gameplay video to showcase the current state of the game.

Last but not least, we are aware that so many of you are wondering when the game is going to be released. We're not quite ready to give you a precise date, yet, but it is going to be in the first half of 2023.

Until then be sure to stay tuned, the developer diaries are going to give you a lot of insight on the game, and we'll be sure to show you something big before the winter holidays.

Units Contest Enters Week 3

Each week we have been showing the silhouette of a real, in game Broken Arrow unit. So far, the first two have been relatively easy.

However, now it is time for the gloves to come off. This week we have something much harder:

Units Contest

Greetings everyone,

We know that things have been a little quiet recently, but we want you to know we are still hard at work. To keep us all entertained while the work is getting done, we’re come up with a fun little contest for everyone to take part in.

Do you consider yourself to be a bit of an identification chart expert? Can you tell the difference between a BMP-1 and a BMP-2 with a single glance? If so, we have a fun contest for you!

Each week we will be showing the silhouette of a real, in game Broken Arrow unit. You’ll then have to guess exactly which one it is. At the end of each week, we’ll show you the answers along with real in-game models for you to look at and enjoy.

But, that’s not all. Those that consistently get the answers correct will be able to unlock special cosmetic ranks and text colouring on our official Discord. We’re planning to play this game for a while, so there will be a lot of new content to look forward to.

Modern warfare RTS Broken Arrow will hit PCs in 2022

If you've been hankering for some modern-day combat after the WW2 battles of the Steel Division series, 2022 might be your year. Broken Arrow, an RTS game that features a deck-building system similar to the kind found in Eugen's strategy games, will debut in the coming year, and today we got a first look at one of its impressive real-time battles.

Prior to each battle in Broken Arrow, you'll put together an army deck, selecting from more than 100 units per faction. You'll have slots for recon, infantry, fighting vehicles like tanks, support units, logistics, helicopters, and off-map assets like airstrikes, and you'll want to consider both the terrain you'll be fighting on and your enemy's probable force composition when you're selecting your cards.

You're not limited to what's on the cards, however. Broken Arrow also allows you to customise your units' loadouts - you can fit aircraft with additional fuel pods or countermeasures, slap extra armour on your ground vehicles, and give your special forces the edge with gear like suppressors and recon drones. You'll be able to refit certain units after the battle begins, too, so you can adapt to surprises your opponent might have up their sleeve mid-match.

Home of Wargamers Live+ - Broken Arrow gameplay reveal

After the success of the first Home of Wargamers Live+ in May, Slitherine is ready to double down.

Tune in on our Twitch channel on December 14th at 2 pm GMT for the Home of Wargamers Live+ Winter Edition.

It will be a four hours long live event during which you’ll have the chance to look at upcoming and unannounced games.

But what about Broken Arrow?

Broken Arrow will be featured at 5.35 pm on that day. We'll have Félix Habert, Creative Director of Steel Balalaika Studio, and Neil McKenna, Producer at Slitherine, live at Milan.

They will talk about Broken Arrow and show exclusive unreleased footage.
