Serum News

One of the first things I saw after waking up was the little hut house deep in the woods. At first, I couldn’t believe my own eyes, but inside the shed, I found a very useful crafting recipe for a serum that included Rotten Rabbit ears.

The lush woods surrounding the hut were a good place to start my hunt. With only the spear at my disposal, it was not an easy task as the Rotten Rabbits are very fast creatures. It took some patience and practice to get my first kill. Luckily, the Rabbits did not fight back – I can’t begin to imagine the consequences of a Rotten Rabbit bite, but I bet it would hurt like hell.


The recipe was very helpful for start, but the number of toxins in rabbit ears was very low, and that means I would need to start hunting for something bigger soon. However, I had the feeling that other animals roaming these lands would put up much greater of a fight. For now, these will have to do. Maybe I should think of some traps, to increase my chances of gathering more Rotten Rabbit ears? If only I could find a helpful recipe to craft some.

Setting up the trap was not an easy task. The rusty jaws had to be opened up until they were blocked entirely, and it had to be done with some serious power. I don't even want to mention that if you fail to open up the trap properly, you could lose a few fingers or the entire hand. It took me a while, but I finally managed to master this task in a matter of a few seconds. Now that the trap was set, it was time to place the stinky bait in the middle of it. I didn't know if I had enough. It was the first time that I tried to catch a Mist Wolf, and I was terrified and excited at the same time.

The place must have been right since I've seen the eyes of the animal here before. There looked like two torches flaming with green fire. It is a sight that I will remember to the end of my days, even if I tried my best to forget it. I wasn't about to stick around to wait for the Hound to arrive. No way in hell. Anyway, my Serum level was getting low, and I had to go back to my shelter for another shot.

A few minutes later, I heard a loud animal noise coming from where I had left the trap. Right away, I knew that this could be it. The Serum shot had to wait.

Deep in the woods, I found a mysterious place that looked like an abandoned camp. Judging by the looks of it, people must have been living there a while ago. I started searching for anything valuable to me, hoping to find some resources and maybe even clues to answer my questions. After about an hour of search, I gave up. There was nothing there that I could use, and I started to head back to the shelter.

I saw a movement. A few meters in front of me, a large Fume Toad jumped out of the bush with a ferocious croak. I grabbed my spear and prepared for its attack. I knew it would only take a few jumps for the damn frog to get close to me. The Fume Toad leaped at me, and suddenly something huge came out of nowhere and caught the animal mid-air. It started ripping the frog apart with its teeth.

I’ve seen wolves before in my life, but this was something else. It was a bloody monster with green eyes that I will never, ever forget.
