Ave Imperator, Force Commander!

Today we are thrilled to announce Execution Force, a new DLC coming to Warhammer 40,000®: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters on July 25 alongside the free Update XIII.

Execution Force is a brand new DLC for the base game available for £12.99/$14.99/€14.99 on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Wishlist it now to ensure you’re notified as soon as the DLC is available.

The Imperial Assassins Arrive

Execution Force will introduce four brand-new units for your strike team to deploy. Harness unique skills and unleash devastation using agents of the Vindicare, Eversor, Culexus, and Callidus Temples. These fearsome operatives bring unparalleled skills and abilities and will be available for deployment on any mission once requisitioned through progressing a timeline event in the main campaign. The strike force you send on a mission can contain any combination of Grey Knights and Assassins, but only one of each Assassin type.
Vindicare
Master the art of precision and eliminate high-value targets from afar with the Vindicare Assassin. Armed with a powerful sniper rifle and unmatched marksmanship skills, this sniper specialist can neutralise enemy commanders and key threats with deadly accuracy.

It’s Precision Targeting allows you to critically wound your enemies from a distance and apply Bleed effect, gradually draining their HP. The powerful Deadshot ability also allows it to kill any organic target instantly.

The Vindicare’s armoury includes the Exitus Rifle (offering Precision Targeting), the Exitus Pistol (a reliable secondary weapon with unlimited ammunition), and the Stealthsuit – armour that gives access to a Stealth ability.
Eversor
Unleash unrelenting fury with the Eversor Assassin. This melee-oriented unit operates through its unique Sacrifice mechanic. The Eversor’s abilities are not capped by Willpower or Cooldowns but require the expenditure of HP which can be recovered through melee kills.

The Eversor comes equipped with a Power Sword that applies bleed and can convert accumulated bleed into immediate high damage. It also carries an Executioner Pistol with a Needler attack which lowers enemy Resistance. The Eversor’s Synskin Bodyglove is armour which provides it with immunity to Autos.
Culexus
Harness the psychic nullifying powers of the Culexus Assassin. This anti-psyker specialist boasts complete immunity to psychic attacks, so is highly effective in countering enemy psykers and Daemonic units. It can also exert a level of control over Warp Surges. Its equipment includes the Animus Speculum, a helmet that functions as its sole weapon and the Synskin Bodyglove armour.
Callidus
Embrace the art of deception and infiltration with the Callidus Assassin. Equipped with advanced recon abilities which allow it to approach enemy squads without triggering combat. Its abilities circumvent enemies with high Armour and HP. The Phase Sword gives this Assassin Armour Pierce while its Neural Shredder applies Stun or disabling afflictions from range. It also wears the Synskin Bodyglove armour.

New Missions: The Tentarus Hive and Boarding Actions

The Execution Force DLC also presents two new mission types to put your new Assassin units and skill as Force Commander to the test.
Tentarus Hive Missions
Dive into the heart of the Tentarus strain of the Bloom. In these missions, Strike Force Xiphos will be tasked with destroying a Tentarus Hive. Initially, the Hive will prove invulnerable until five Hive Germs are eradicated. Scour the map to locate and eradicate them. Destroying the Hive Germs will prove difficult. The Tentarus Hive itself can regularly summon reinforcements and fire a long-range blast. Will you keep your units together and bear the brunt of these effects or risk splitting the group to quickly complete your objectives?
Boarding Action Missions
These missions will thrust the Grey Knights within the Death Guard cruiser’s interior to destroy its Power Generators. Race against the clock to achieve your goal or suffer the consequences. A failed effort to disable the cruiser will result in heavy damage to the Baleful Edict. Success will render significant rewards. Both Death Guard Boarding and Tentarus Hive missions feature five new map variants.

In addition to the above, the Execution Force DLC will bolster your armoury with new weapons and armour. Use them effectively in combination with the new Assassin units to address the rising threat of the Bloom. More details and information about all the content above will be shared between now and launch, so be sure to stay tuned to our socials.

Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is getting a free update with new enemies and gear, seems to be teasing more DLC

Since its release in 2022, turn-based tactics face-brutalizer Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters has received a string of free updates, with another due this month. While that update will add an enemy spawn group called the Tainted Sons, three new bits of wargear for the beleaguered Grey Knights, and two more warp surge events, the latest video on the official Daemonhunters YouTube channel seems to be teasing something different...

Update XIII - Coming 25 July

Ave Imperator, Force Commander.

We’re delighted to announce a free update with additional content and improvements will be making its way to Warhammer 40:000®: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters on 25 July! To ensure that Strike Team Xiphos is sufficiently prepared, here’s an overview of what you can expect:

Enemies

The polluted ranks of Nurgle’s army continue to bloat and spread, this time giving rise to the Tainted Sons. This foul ilk is a new spawn group consisting of:
The Nurgling Swarm
Exclusive to the Tainted Sons spawn group, the Nurgling Swarm applies buffs to all Daemons, making it a priority target.
The Plague Surgeon
This single-target support unit will heal and buff its allies and further multiply the benefits of their mutations. While most frequently seen accompanied by the other Tainted Sons, the Plague Surgeon is also known to appear and aid other clusters of enemies.
The Beast of Nurgle
This mid to late game unit is a physically commanding enemy that will barrage you with melee attacks while soaking up damage for other Daemons. Allow it to get close, and it will immobilise your Grey Knights and focus them down until they are eliminated. Do not allow this fate to befall your units.

The Tainted Sons generally have high HP and ready access to Mutations, but low Armour and Resistance. This proclivity for Mutations appears as a Tainted Sons Boon status effect. The Boon has a 15% chance to cause the unit to Mutate when attacked, so dealing high damage bursts will be key.

Warp Surge Events

In addition to the new enemies, the battlefield itself grows increasingly dangerous. Two new Tentarus Strain Warp Surges are being detected:

 • The Generous Effusions Warp Surge causes enemies to explode for three turns, buffing the health of their nearby allied units (+3HP).
 • The Roiling Mutations Warp Surge event will cause all enemies on the map to mutate.

Wargear

Gear up for battle with brand new Wargear options for your Grey Knights. Strategic deployment of this additional equipment will turn the tide in your favour in the fight against Nurgle’s plague:
Purgation Skull
This Wargear Purges a single enemy up to a range of 10 tiles, ignoring cover. At Tier 2, it afflicts Burning for three turns which becomes five turns at Tier 3.
Autoloader Skull
The autoloader skull executes all its targets Reload abilities (both if the Dreadnought is targeted) at a range of up to 10. Tiers 2 and 3 each increase the ammunition of the Wargear by 2.
Rad Grenade
The Rad Grenade deals a Blast Attack at range 10, afflicting enemies with the Bleed 3 effect. This becomes Bleed 4 and 5 at Tiers 2 and 3 respectively.

We trust that receiving this intel ahead of Nurgle’s machinations will allow you time to prepare. More information about the upcoming changes will be revealed throughout this month.
