Early Access v0.39 Update

The newest content is now available on the beta branch to test out. It will get a couple of boss fights added and bugfixes/performance updates before being pushed to main, but it's there for trying out now! Once that's complete, the Clock Tower will be worked on, along with the Act I finale! ːsteamhappyː

  • Monster upgrade XP boost halved (for now - still being tweaked)
  • Rhea learned Cure-All at lvl 12, but skill wasn't visible
  • "Eccentric" trait is now exclusive to bosses/Rhea
  • Fixed Bow bonus description for elemental bows
  • Standing around the Gorge no longer gives the player 50 POW per second

Early Access v0.37b

Just a quick update to fix some of the more prominent issues that had quick fixes! Hope you are enjoying the game so far.

  • Fixed a missing image bug when entering Bramble Wayrest (Fixed in v0.37a)

  • Screen tint not resetting on Testing Grounds fire traps
  • Biographies not properly word wrapping
  • Mobs listing equipment types they can't use (Cloth, Light, Heavy)
  • Tutorial for health bars was missing a word
  • Abilities Tab: Kin's usable weapons goes off-page
  • Battle command window/skill lists moved to prevent blocking the help window

Early Access Now Available!

Kin's Chronicle is launching in Early Access in an attempt to get wider feedback and to grow better as an experience. Plus, I am just a single dev/producer actively working on code and design, so I'll need all the help I can get!



[h3]Here's what to expect from Early Access[/h3]
  • The full release date is not static, but should be no later than the end of Q3 2021.
  • You'll be able to make feature requests that I'll review for addition, as long as it doesn't push release too far out.
  • You can preview content before it hits using the Testing Grounds (See patch notes below!).
  • You'll be able to get the game at a discount, not less than 33%. For EA launch, it'll be even more! There will still be regular sales along the way, time permitting (Steam only allows so many).


Feedback can be given using the Steam Discussions, Discord, or Twitter! Go nuts! I will do my best to respond to everyone, but know that if I don't have time to respond I still saw your message and likely added your request to Trello already.



[h3]EA v0.37 Patch Notes[/h3]
  • Access to Testing Grounds added via statue teleport in Kin's Keep
  • Act I boss and wandering mob templates added to Testing Grounds
  • Full monster DB Imported! :D
  • Right clicking when the mouselook is unlocked will now open the menu as intended

v0.35 Beta/Demo Update

This will be the final major update to the Demo, with the rest going to private Beta on the lead up to Release. Be sure to Wishlist, and we'll see you then! In the meantime, I'll still be updating this space with the Beta changes.
